🙇🏻 Wisdom & Revelation to Know God, The Hope of His Calling, Riches of Glorious Inheritance and the Surpassing Greatness of His Power, Eph 1:15-23, "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way,'" Eph 1:15-23.

We lift our hearts in praise and gratitude for your desire to seek God’s wisdom, revelation, and the fullness of His power as outlined in Ephesians 1:15-23. This passage is a profound declaration of the spiritual riches available to those who are in Christ, and it is a privilege to join you in praying for these very things. Let us first affirm the truth of this Scripture and then pray fervently for its realization in your life and in the lives of all who seek Him.

The apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 is not merely a request for knowledge but for a deep, transformative encounter with God Himself. He prays that the Father of glory would give you "a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Him" (Ephesians 1:17 WEB). This is not worldly wisdom or mere intellectual understanding, it is the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit, revealing the heart and character of God. It is the kind of knowledge that changes how we see ourselves, our purpose, and our place in God’s eternal plan.

Paul goes on to pray that "the eyes of your heart may be enlightened" (Ephesians 1:18 WEB). This is a prayer for spiritual sight, for the ability to perceive the hope of God’s calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are not abstract concepts but living realities that should shape our daily lives. The hope of His calling reminds us that we are not here by accident; we have been chosen and set apart for a divine purpose. The riches of His inheritance assure us that we are co-heirs with Christ, destined to share in the glory of God. And the surpassing greatness of His power is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, a power that is at work within us, enabling us to live victoriously over sin, temptation, and every scheme of the enemy.

It is also important to note that this power is not for our own glory but for the glory of God and the building up of His church. Christ has been given as "head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all" (Ephesians 1:22-23 WEB). This means that as we grow in the knowledge of God and experience His power, we are being equipped to fulfill our role in the body of Christ. We are called to walk in unity, love, and holiness, reflecting the fullness of Christ to a world in desperate need of Him.

Let us now come before the throne of grace with this prayer, asking God to fulfill His promises in your life and in the lives of all who seek Him:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. We thank You for the privilege of approaching Your throne with boldness and confidence, not because of our own righteousness, but because of the finished work of Your Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. We acknowledge that without Jesus, we have no access to You, no hope of salvation, and no claim to Your promises. But through faith in Him, we are Your children, heirs of Your kingdom, and recipients of Your grace.

Father, we lift up this prayer for wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of You. We ask that You would pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us, opening the eyes of our hearts to see You as You truly are. Remove any veil of unbelief, doubt, or worldly distraction that hinders us from knowing You intimately. Give us a hunger and thirst for Your Word, that we may meditate on it day and night, allowing it to transform our minds and renew our spirits.

Lord, we pray that You would reveal to us the hope of Your calling. Help us to understand the purpose for which You created us and the plans You have for our lives. May we walk in the confidence of knowing that we are Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10 WEB). Let this hope anchor our souls, especially in times of trial, uncertainty, or discouragement.

We also pray for a revelation of the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints. Father, we confess that we often settle for far less than what You have promised. Open our eyes to see the spiritual wealth that is ours in Christ, our adoption as Your children, our citizenship in heaven, our access to Your throne, and our eternal destiny with You. May this truth fill us with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility to live in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1 WEB).

And Lord, we ask that You would reveal to us the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. This is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, that seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, and that subjected all things under His feet. We pray that this power would be at work in us, breaking every chain of sin, fear, and bondage. Strengthen us to resist the devil, to stand firm in our faith, and to walk in victory over every temptation. May we never underestimate what You can do through us when we yield to Your Spirit.

Father, we also pray for the church, the body of Christ. Unite us in love, purpose, and truth. May we be a people who reflect the fullness of Christ, shining Your light in a dark world. Raise up leaders who are filled with Your wisdom and anointing, who will shepherd Your people with integrity and faithfulness. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We rebuke every spirit of confusion, deception, and spiritual blindness that seeks to hinder Your people from walking in the fullness of what You have for them. We declare that the eyes of our hearts are being enlightened, that we are growing in the knowledge of You, and that Your power is being manifested in and through us. We resist the enemy’s lies and stand firm on the truth of Your Word.

Finally, Lord, we surrender ourselves fully to You. Take our lives, our dreams, our ambitions, and our futures, and use them for Your glory. May we live each day with the assurance that we are Your beloved children, called according to Your purpose. Fill us with Your peace, joy, and love, that we may be a testimony to the world of Your goodness and grace.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Let us hold fast to the truth that God is faithful to fulfill His promises. As we seek Him with all our hearts, He will reveal Himself to us in deeper and more intimate ways. The wisdom, revelation, and power we desire are not distant or unattainable, they are available to us right now through the Holy Spirit. Let us press into God’s presence, meditate on His Word, and walk in obedience to His will. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work within us, and nothing is impossible for those who believe.

May you be encouraged today to pursue God with all your heart, knowing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6 WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and trust that He will lead you into all truth. The journey of knowing God is a lifelong pursuit, but it is the most rewarding journey you will ever take. Walk in the light of His love, and let His truth set you free.

This is a request we cherish joining you in. The prayer you’ve lifted from Ephesians 1 is one the Spirit deeply loves to answer in the lives of believers, because it asks for what God already delights to give us in Christ. That very stirring you feel to know Him more, to grasp the hope and inheritance and power that are yours, is itself evidence that His hand is on you.

There are times when those immense realities can seem like distant truths rather than the solid ground beneath our feet. We get it. Paul prayed this not for elite Christians but for ordinary, struggling people, and we can do the same. One simple thing we’ve seen help is to linger over these verses day by day, reading them slowly and personally. As you do, picture yourself enclosed in Christ, seated with Him above every chaos, every fear, and ask the Holy Spirit to make that more real to your heart than your current feelings. Letting a trusted friend or small group pray this over you can also anchor you, as the body of Christ often helps us see what we struggle to see on our own.

We pray with you now, right in line with Paul’s own words:

Father of glory, grant our friend a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of You. Enlighten the eyes of their heart so they will know, deep down, beyond mere information, the hope to which You’ve called them, the riches of Your glorious inheritance, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. Let that resurrection power raise up every weary part of their soul and flood them with quiet confidence. In the mighty name of Jesus we ask, Amen.

How ardently does your soul cry out for that very enlightenment which the apostle sought for the Ephesians! You have laid hold of the right promise, for Holy Scripture is the storehouse of all true wisdom. The Spirit of wisdom and revelation is given not that we may pry into curious speculations, but that we may possess the true knowledge of Himself. And this is life eternal, to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He hath sent. You cannot have the riches of His inheritance unless you first know the hope of His calling; and you can never know the surpassing greatness of His power until you have tasted that Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Fix your gaze steadily upon the Lamb upon the throne. All power is given unto Him, and it is from that throne of grace that He dispenses every spiritual blessing. The inheritance is broad and full; no child of God can ever exhaust it, for God All-Sufficient is our portion. Yet many miss much joy because they do not know what God has provided.

Seek, then, to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord. Go to the Word for the light of God, and to the Holy Spirit for divine instruction. Do not let it be a matter of question whether you are taught of God or not, but press forward with earnestness. If you would know the hope of His calling, cast away all confidence in your own doings; there is no hope in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him who was raised from the dead and seated at the right hand of power. Christ in the heart is wisdom and power, and it is by simple trust in the Lord that you shall be made truly wise and truly happy. Though your spiritual appetite may not always be as keen as in your first days, yet the covenant stands fast. Return to the wrestling place, like Jacob, and you shall prevail as a prince having power with God. The inheritance is yours by a covenant of salt; stretch out the hand of faith and take fuller possession. Then you shall taste the riches of His glory and know by blessed experience the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe. The Lamb is worthy to receive all blessing, and He will not withhold it from those who seek Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have taken up a prayer that the blessed Paul himself poured out without ceasing, making mention of whole churches in his prayers, giving thanks that the faith of the Lord Jesus was among them and their love toward all the saints. And what did he ask? Not for wealth, not for ease, not for the wisdom of this world, but that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would grant them a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Himself. So you also, lifting this same petition, seek nothing less than the very mind of Christ and the enlightening power that raised Him from the dead.

Now consider what sort of wisdom you are asking for. It is not the wisdom of Plato or the cleverness of human reasoning, for the foolishness of God is wiser than men. Christ Himself was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. Whoever would be wise, then, must first become a fool in the eyes of the world, casting away proud arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. The eyes of your heart must be enlightened, not merely your intellect sharpened. That illumination is the work of the Spirit, who sheds abroad into our hearts the very light of the knowledge of the glory of God. Therefore, when you ask for a spirit of wisdom and revelation, you are asking to behold the unsearchable riches of Christ and to see, as far as mortal flesh can see, the hope to which He has called you.

And what is that hope? It is the inheritance of the saints in light, the glorious riches laid up for those who are sanctified. Yet consider the patriarch Abraham, who by faith obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he was to receive as an inheritance. He went out not knowing whither he went, and he sojourned in the land of promise as in a strange country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. None of them received the fulfillment of what was pledged. They looked forward, seeing them afar off, and embraced them. So it is with you. The hope of His calling is not a present possession to be grasped with the hands or measured by the senses. It is an anchor of the soul within the veil, where Christ has entered as a forerunner. If you would know this hope, then you must learn to walk by faith and not by sight, treating this present world as a foreign land, and setting your affection on things above.

But perhaps you ask, how can I, a weak and ordinary believer, lay hold of such things? The answer lies in the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe. That power is nothing less than the working of the strength of His might which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion. This is no feeble energy, no distant force that merely moves the stars and the seasons. It is the very finger of God, the selfsame power that cast out devils and by which the kingdom of God comes near. By that same power He has drawn you to Himself, releasing you from your former estate of sin and death. If you understand who you were and how you believed, you will know His sovereignty and might. For the weakness of God is stronger than men, and the very power that raised Christ from the dead now works in those who trust Him.

Do you wish to see this power displayed? Look not to the high and mighty of this age, but to the churches of Macedonia. In a great ordeal of affliction, their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality. They gave beyond their ability, of their own free will, begging for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints. Here is surpassing greatness of power: that abject poverty should yield such rich generosity, that tribulation should produce such exceeding joy. This is no human achievement; it is the might of God transforming the hearts of men. Therefore, do not despise your own lowliness or the trials that beset you. The wisdom of the poor man is often despised, but under the New Covenant poverty is no curse and riches no sign of divine favor. Ponder the grace of God and do not pass it by lightly. Fix your mind on the magnitude and character of His gift, and you will find yourself giving thanks in all things, even beyond your power.

Yet you must also search the Scriptures and know the power of God, lest you err as the Sadducees did, not knowing the one or the other. The spirit of revelation opens the Word so that you may see Christ everywhere, the sum of all wisdom and the hope of glory. From the good things stored up for us, you will learn His ineffable riches; from remembering the pit from which you were dug, you will learn His power. Let your prayer therefore be joined with continual thanksgiving, making mention of all the saints, even as the Apostle did. Let the eyes of your heart be so enlightened that you walk worthy of such a calling, bearing all things, believing all things, hoping all things, enduring all things, until at last you receive the inheritance that never fades away.
