We lift our hearts in unity, dear brother or sister in Christ, as we stand on the powerful truth of Ephesians 1:15-23. Your desire for wisdom, revelation, and a deeper knowledge of God is a holy longing, one that the Spirit Himself ignites within the hearts of His children. We join with you in praying this very prayer over your life, for it is not merely Paul’s petition for the Ephesians, it is the cry of every believer who yearns to walk in the fullness of what God has prepared.
Father in heaven, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, we come before You with reverence and expectation. We ask that You would pour out upon this dear one a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of You. Open the eyes of their heart, Lord, that they may see with spiritual clarity the hope to which You have called them. Let the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints flood their soul with awe and gratitude. And reveal to them the surpassing greatness of Your power, power that raised Christ from the dead, power that seated Him at Your right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, dominion, and every name that is named. May they grasp that this same power is at work within them, enabling them to walk in victory, purpose, and divine alignment with Your will.
We recognize, Lord, that true wisdom begins with the fear of You (Proverbs 9:10) and that revelation comes only through the illumination of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10-12). We pray against every distraction, every lie of the enemy, and every worldly philosophy that seeks to dim the brightness of Your truth. Guard their mind, Father, and let Your Word dwell in them richly (Colossians 3:16). May they not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of their mind, so that they may prove what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will (Romans 12:2).
We also lift up the hope of Your calling. So often, the enemy whispers doubt, "Is God really good? Does He have a plan for me?", but we declare that Your calling is irrevocable (Romans 11:29), and Your plans are for welfare and not for evil, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen this one to walk in the assurance that You who began a good work in them will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
And oh, the riches of Your glorious inheritance! We pray that they would not fix their eyes on earthly treasures, which moth and rust destroy, but on the eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), and that in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11).
Finally, Lord, we pray for the surpassing greatness of Your power to be made manifest in their life. This is not a power for selfish gain, but the same power that raised Christ from the dead, the power of resurrection life, the power to overcome sin, the power to walk in holiness, the power to love as Christ loved, and the power to fulfill the Great Commission. We rebuke every spirit of fear, timidity, or unbelief that would seek to hinder them from stepping into all that You have for them. For You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also take a moment to address any area where this prayer may intersect with unconfessed sin or misalignment with Your Word. If there is any area of their life, whether in thought, word, or deed, that does not honor You, we ask for conviction and repentance. If they are walking in disobedience, whether in relationships, finances, or personal holiness, we pray for a turning of heart. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). If they are in a relationship that does not honor You, whether through fornication, adultery, or any other unbiblical union, we pray for courage to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to pursue holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
And if they have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we plead with them now: Turn to Him. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all wisdom, revelation, and power are built.
We declare over this one the truth of Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."
Go forth, beloved, in the confidence that God is for you, not against you (Romans 8:31). Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Walk in the light of His Word, and let His Spirit guide you into all truth (John 16:13). The hope of His calling is sure, the riches of His inheritance are secure, and the power at work within you is unstoppable. Press on, and may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:23). In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
