Beloved of All
Your prayers for your family have been heard and we join you in bringing each of these burdens before the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
We thank God for your faithful love as a mother and for your desire to see your children walk in truth, unity and gratitude. We will pray with you for the Lord's protection, wisdom and peace to rest upon your home.
We pray for your younger daughter. We ask the Lord to keep her safe as she drives, to give her clarity and peace in her studies and in her work in the lab, and to help her work diligently without wearing herself out. We ask Him to heal her completely from POTS and from all pain, to give her rest at night and strength for each day, and to surround her with godly friendships that encourage her faith and respect the way she was raised. We thank God for the respectful courtship you have described and we ask Him to continue to guide both of them in purity, humility, respect and understanding, and to lead them according to His will for marriage, which is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with love and intimacy kept within that covenant. We also pray that her love for her brother will remain tender and that she will continue to see him as a blessing and not as a burden, and that she will have wisdom to step away from any friendship that consistently leaves her withdrawn and downhearted.
We pray for your son. We ask the Lord to grant him peace of mind, protection from confusion and distress, and daily grace to use the gifts God has given him. He is made in the image of God and dearly loved, and we ask for healing, breakthrough and joy in his life, and for strength and wisdom for all of you as you care for him.
We pray for your older daughter with deep concern and compassion. We will not ask God to bless a relationship that involves living together outside of marriage, because Scripture teaches that this is not marriage and does not reflect His good design. Instead we pray that the Lord will open her eyes to see the controlling, dishonest and isolating patterns you have described, that He will restore her self worth, her love for her family, her church and her purposeful work, and that He will give her courage and wisdom to step out of what is toxic and to seek counsel that honors God. We pray that any financial exploitation and manipulation would be stopped, that the influence of this young man and his mother over your daughters would be broken, and that your older daughter would come to desire her faith and family above that relationship. We pray that the father of this young man would also speak truth where it is needed.
We pray for you and for your whole household. We ask God to frustrate every scheme that brings division, jealousy, disrespect and isolation, and to restore fellowship, honesty, freedom and love in your home. We ask Him to guard your relationship with your younger daughter and to make the bond between you and your children strong and unbreakable in Christ. We pray that He will clothe you all with His full armor, that you will continue in careful hearing of His Word and in prayer, and that you will have strength, courage and understanding for each challenge. Where you have discerned spiritual attack, we pray that you will stand firm in Christ, trusting not in curses or witchcraft to have power over those who belong to Him, but in the blood of Jesus and in His complete victory.
May the Lord keep your younger daughter on the bright path you have prayed for, protect her from being lured or pressured into leaving home under manipulation, and keep her grateful and obedient. May He bring your older daughter home swiftly if it is His will, restore the loving relationship between your daughters and between them and their brother, and fill your home again with peace that surpasses understanding.
