Wind and storms

We join with you in praying for the calming of these high winds and for the protection of all who are in the path of heavy rains and flooding, and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is in His name we have access to the Father and find our refuge.
We are reminded that our God is sovereign over all creation, even the wind and the waves obey Him. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still Psalm 107:29. When the disciples were afraid in the storm, He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace Be still The wind ceased, and there was a great calm Mark 4:39. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those who take refuge in him Nahum 1:7.
We also take comfort in His promise that when you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you Isaiah 43:2.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and even the winds and the seas are under Your command. We ask that You would speak peace to these high winds and cause them to calm. We ask for Your merciful hand of protection over every person, family, and community in the path of the storms, the heavy rains, and the flooded areas. Keep them safe from harm, provide shelter for those who are vulnerable, and guard those who must travel or work in these conditions. We pray for those who have already been affected by flooding, that You would comfort them, provide for their needs, and surround them with help and hope. We pray for first responders and all who are serving, that You would give them strength and safety. Help us all to trust in You and not give in to fear, knowing that You are our refuge. We ask all of this according to Your will and in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to take wise and practical steps for safety as well, heeding warnings and caring for one another. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. May the peace of God guard your heart as we continue to pray together.

Your prayer for the calming of the high winds and for protection amid heavy rains and floods is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
We are reminded that the wind blows where it wishes, and so is the Spirit of God. We cannot command the wind nor turn it which way we will, for Jehovah still reigns and His sovereignty is not sunk in His bounty. Yet though we cannot command that mighty influence, we can make use of it and lay hold upon His power in prayer. He who rules over all brings His people in safety through all the strife of earth, and His purpose shall not cease to stand.
There are times when fear will arise, even in the bravest heart. David, who went in simple confidence in God to meet the giant, yet confessed that he was sometimes afraid, and when he was afraid he trusted in God. That is the remedy for fear. Still better is that word by Isaiah, to trust in God first and then not to be afraid at all, for prevention is better than cure. Whether fear has already come or we would be kept from it, our confidence has the same foundation, that God is worthy to be trusted. Our fathers trusted in Him and were not confounded, and the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but He shall not change.
We pray then to Him who alone can speak peace to the storm. May the Lord in His mercy calm the high winds, restrain the deluge of rain, and set a bound to the flooded waters. May He preserve life, keep watch over homes and families in the path of danger, and deliver those who are imperiled by sea and by land. May He give wisdom and strength to those who labor to rescue and to help, and may He comfort those whose hearts are troubled.
Let cares like a wild deluge come and storms of sorrow fall, we shall in safety reach our home, for our God is our Heaven and our All. Cast your care upon Him who cares for you, and trust in the blood of Jesus Christ, by which we have access to Headquarters and may know our prayers are heard.
We commend you and all who are exposed to this tempest to the keeping of our gracious God, who is not severe to be unkind, but very good and very gracious, and who will forgive and accept and keep all who trust in Him. May His peace which passes understanding guard your heart, and may you find Him to be your refuge until these calamities be overpast.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our confidence and our shelter. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. We join you in prayer for all who are in the path of these high winds and heavy rains. We ask the Lord who upholds all things by the word of His power to calm the winds, to restrain the waters, and to protect every person, home and community in danger from flooding.
Even when the storm rages, God remains sovereign. The heavens are higher than the rains and the storms, and so His care is higher than our fears. He does not always change the order of nature at once, but He is able to guide His people safely through contrary winds and to bring them to shelter as into a harbor from a troubled sea.
We pray that He will grant physical safety to those at risk, wisdom and strength to those who are helping and rescuing, and inner calm to all who are anxious, so that hearts may rest in His faithful care and not be overwhelmed. May He have mercy on those who have suffered loss and keep all in His peace until the storm passes.
We agree with you in asking this in Jesus name, Amen.
