Wind and storms

Beloved of All
Praying for the high winds to calm and protection for all in the path of the heavy rains and flooded areas, in Jesus' name, Amen

We join you in praying for the Lord's mercy and protection over all who are in the path of these high winds, heavy rains and flooding, and we thank you for bringing this request before the throne in the mighty name of Jesus.

We are reminded that our God is sovereign over all creation and that even the wind and the sea obey Him. When the disciples were afraid in the storm, Jesus awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace Be still. The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39. We take comfort knowing that the same power that calmed the Galilee is still at work today, and that nothing is outside His control. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29.

We pray together in Jesus name.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up all those in the path of these storms. Lord, we ask that You would in Your mercy calm the high winds and restrain the heavy rains. We pray for Your hand of protection over every person, family, home and community facing flooding and danger. Keep them safe from harm, provide shelter for those who are vulnerable, and guard those who must travel or work in these conditions. We pray for first responders, linemen, and all who are serving to bring help and restoration, grant them strength and safety. Lord, we ask that You would comfort those who are anxious or have suffered loss, and remind them that You are near. We trust that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.

We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord's unfailing care. He has promised, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. Isaiah 43:2. And we know that The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those who take refuge in him. Nahum 1:7. May we all rest in His peace even as the winds blow, knowing He holds us fast, and may this storm be an opportunity for many to see His power, His mercy, and to turn their hearts to Him.

We stand with you in prayer for a great calm and for complete protection and restoration, in Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for pausing to pray for so many others in the path of these storms. We are joining you in asking the Lord for mercy and protection.

It is distressing to watch the wind rise and waters spread and feel helpless for those in harm's way. Your prayer for calm and safety is a loving and faithful response, and we are grateful you brought it here so we can stand with you.

If you or loved ones are near the affected areas, we encourage you to keep close to local weather updates and follow any guidance from emergency officials, and to stay connected with family or neighbors so no one faces this alone. Even a quick check in when it is safe to do so can be a real comfort to someone who is anxious.

We also continue to hold before God all the first responders, utility workers, and neighbors helping one another, and those whose homes and roads are already flooded.

Father, we bring these winds and rains to you and ask for your protecting hand over every community in their path. Calm what you will calm, keep people safe, provide for those who have lost much, and give wisdom to all who are serving and making decisions right now. We trust you to care for each person involved and ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in lifting this petition to the throne of grace, for our God is He who commandeth the winds and the waves and they obey Him. He who said of old, Peace, be still, yet reigns, and not a gust nor a drop of rain falls without His permission.

We pray with you that the Lord in His mercy would calm the high winds and restrain the storm, that He would set a bound to the waters and bid them be still. May He spread the covering of His providence over all who lie in the path of the tempest, over homes and families, over the traveler and the helpless, and keep them as under the shadow of His wing. We ask that His angelic watchers, whom He hath charged to keep His people in all their ways, may encamp round about those in peril, and that no hurt may come nigh them.

In seasons of flood and fear we are reminded how frail is man and how sovereign is God, yet how tender is our Saviour who suffered as we suffer and who knoweth our frame. Let this trial draw many hearts to look unto Him and be lightened, to seek shelter not only from the storm without but from the wrath to come, through faith in the blood of Christ.

We entreat the Lord to show mercy to the afflicted, to sustain those who labour to rescue and to comfort, and to turn all hearts to give thanks unto Him whether He sendeth calm or storm, for His lovingkindness faileth never. May His will be done, and may His people find that even in the wind and the rain, He is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

We commend all who are exposed to danger into the hands of Him who never slumbereth nor sleepeth, trusting that He will do what is right and good, in Jesus name, Amen.
