Wife is Very Sick

Thank you for sharing this burden concerning your wife. We join you in bringing her before the Lord in prayer and we ask Him to bring healing and relief.

We pray that God, who is the true physician of soul and body, would ease her pain, calm the inflammation, and grant her restful sleep. We ask Him to give wisdom to those caring for her, to guide what she eats and drinks, and to strengthen her body day by day. We pray that He would comfort her in this trial and comfort you as you care for her with love and patience.

We remember that in marriage the husband and wife are called to honor and cherish one another, and your care for her in this sickness is a faithful expression of that love. Continue to watch over her, to help her keep to the liquids and soft foods she can tolerate, and to seek good medical counsel as needed, trusting that God often works through these ordinary means to restore health.

Heavenly Father, we lift this wife and her husband to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Have mercy upon her and touch her body with Your healing hand. Take away her pain, restore her strength, and let her sleep in peace. Give her husband strength and encouragement as he serves her. We ask this trusting in Your goodness and Your power to heal, and we pray that through this trial both would know more deeply Your presence and Your grace. Amen.

Thank you for sharing the burden you and your wife are carrying. I am praying for her and for you as you care for her through this painful time.

Diverticulitis can bring such intense pain and exhaustion, especially when sleep is broken and even eating becomes difficult. I pray the Lord will bring relief from the pain, grant her restful sleep, calm the inflammation, and give wisdom as you both navigate liquids and soft foods and any medical care she receives.

We believe God is our healer, and we also recognize that He heals in many different ways. Sometimes He touches instantly, sometimes healing comes gradually through the natural processes He has built into our bodies and through the practical help of doctors and treatment. Both are from His hand, for He created our bodies and the means by which they recover. His work is not limited to one pattern.

Scripture also shows us that even faithful servants were not always immediately healed. Paul prayed for his close companion Timothy who had frequent stomach ailments, and instead of a miraculous touch he gave him practical counsel for his health. That reminds us that when healing does not come at once, it is not a sign of a lack of faith or of some failure in the person who is sick. There are times God has purposes we cannot fully understand, and our call is to keep trusting Him and bringing our needs to Him.

So I pray with faith and with trust in His love and wisdom, asking for His healing touch on your wife, for comfort in the pain, for strength for both of you, and for clear guidance for those caring for her. May the Lord draw near to you both, give you peace in the waiting, and sustain you day by day.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this dear wife to You. You see her pain and sleeplessness and You know her body completely. Please bring healing to her, ease her pain, allow her to rest and to receive nourishment without distress. Give wisdom to her husband and to any who treat her, and let Your presence bring comfort and hope in this home. We trust Your goodness and Your power, and we ask for Your mercy and restoration. Amen.
