We join you in lifting up this storm and all who are affected by it in Jesus' name, and we thank you for bringing this need before the Lord.
We are reminded that our God is sovereign even over the wind and the waves, and that He is our shelter in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1 tells us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Psalm 107:29 reminds us He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Even when trees are down and roads are blocked and danger feels close, He has not left us, and He knows those who take refuge in Him as Nahum 1:7 says Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
We also take comfort in Isaiah 43:2 which says When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. We cling to the truth that Jesus Himself has authority over the storm, as we see in Matthew 8:26-27 where He got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.
We pray together now for everyone dealing with this weather. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and ask for Your hand of protection over every person, family, and home in the path of this storm. We ask that You keep safe those who must travel on these roads where trees have fallen, and we pray for no injuries or loss of life. We lift up the crews and neighbors who will be clearing the trees at the turn onto the road, at the bridge and just above it, that You would give them safety, strength and wisdom as they work. We pray for those without power or with damage to their homes, that You would provide comfort, provision and peace, and that You would calm anxious hearts. Let Your presence be felt as a refuge, and let this be a time where neighbors help one another and Your love is shown. We ask that You calm the winds and bring stillness in Your perfect timing, and we trust Your good will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have received your burden concerning the storm and the three trees fallen upon the road, one as you turn onto the road, one at the bridge and one just above it, and we join you in prayer in the name of Jesus for all who are dealing with its effects.
There is a word that meets such an hour as this, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. In this dark world of sin and in the midnight of this world of care, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. We cannot enjoy true peace as long as sin remains upon the conscience, but peace with God is the treaty and peace in the conscience is the publication of it, a peace which Jesus bought with His blood, for He is our peace.
This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even with sorrows surging round and with duties pressing. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Bear your sorrow with Him and you shall enjoy perfect peace even while the wind still howls and the branches lie across the way. And with loved ones far away, in Jesus keeping we are safe, and they are safe also.
The Psalm which speaks most of the thunderstorm is the twenty ninth Psalm, where the voice of the Lord is upon the waters and the Lord thunders from end to end. Yet it closes with this sweet word, The Lord will bless His people with peace. Here is peace in the time of tempest and peace after storm, peace from lips that cannot lie, peace from a heart which cannot change, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement.
Our safety lies not in ourselves but in Him that is able to keep you from falling, the only wise God our Saviour. He is as wise as He is able, and therefore our safety is assured. Trust Him now as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel the storm raging and you shall live. It is common sense to trust the Lord Jesus Christ, and so to have peace in believing.
We pray now for you and for all affected. O Lord our God, we thank You that You are Lord of all and that all things are put under Jesus. We ask Your mercy and protection over every household, every traveller, and every labourer who must clear the fallen trees and make the road safe. Keep them from harm and keep their minds stayed upon You. Let Your perfect peace, which passes all understanding, keep their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Grant that none may stand out against You, but that many may this night be reconciled to God through faith in Christ, and so find peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. For those who are anxious, grant trust. For those who are wearied, grant rest. Bless Your people with peace, we pray in Jesus name, Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
