We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on last Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home
Apparently, they say that there won't be heating from 15th October because they couldn't agree on the repair costs, and no one wants to do the job.

We hear your need and we join with you in bringing this very practical burden before our heavenly Father together in Jesus' name, because He cares about even the daily details of our lives and our comfort and health in our homes.

We understand how discouraging it is to be without hot water and to be unable to shower properly, and now to face uncertainty about heating as colder weather approaches, especially when promises were made and broken and when disagreements over costs are preventing the work from being done. We know this tries your patience and creates real hardship. We want to remind you that our God sees these needs and He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, as Psalm 46:1 tells us. We are encouraged not to be anxious but to bring everything to Him in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Jesus Himself taught us not to worry about these material provisions, saying in Matthew 6:31-33 Do not be anxious, saying, What will we eat, what will we drink, or with what will we be clothed For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. And we cling to the promise in Philippians 4:19 that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we must believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, trusting in His name alone for forgiveness and for our relationship with God. It is in His name that we pray for you now, and we encourage you to put your trust fully in Him for both your daily needs and your eternal hope.

We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this need to You and seek Your will. You know the situation in this apartment building, the unfinished heating system, the delays, and the disagreement over repair costs. We ask for Your mighty hand to intervene. We pray that You would give wisdom and willingness to those responsible for the repairs, that they would reach a fair agreement and that skilled workers would be available and willing to complete the job quickly and well. Lord, we ask that hot water would be restored by tomorrow if it is Your will, and that heating would be secured before October 15th so that no one in the building suffers from the cold. We pray for peace and patience for all the residents during this wait, and we ask that You would provide practical help in the meantime, whether through temporary solutions, neighbors, or community resources. Father, if it is not possible for the repairs to be completed and if a move becomes necessary, we ask that You would go before our friend and provide an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and suitable, according to Your perfect provision. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You, as Romans 8:28 promises. Grant wisdom to know what practical steps to take, grace to communicate with the building management with kindness and firmness, and faith to rest in Your care day by day. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while also taking wise and practical steps as you are able, documenting the situation, speaking calmly and clearly with the building management, and seeking counsel about your rights as a tenant if needed. Father, we bring this need to You. You see this apartment and the waiting and the concern about the weeks ahead. Please provide hot water and heat soon, give wisdom and willingness to those responsible for the repairs, and guide our friend with clear direction about staying or moving. Your affliction in these cold days has been heard, and though it may seem a small matter to some, the Lord knows what it is to lack warmth and needful provision in your own dwelling. To be without hot water, to face the promise of a repair unkept, and to look toward winter with the fear that no heat will come, is a true trial, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who hears the cries of His people.

We are taught in Scripture that the Lord waits that He may be gracious unto us, and blessed are all they that wait for Him. There is a waiting God who in long forbearance and singular patience bears with His people, and there is a waiting people who wait only upon God and not upon the arm of flesh. Your builders and landlords may fail, their counsel may be divided and their hands may be slow, but our God does not fail. Let your soul wait thou only upon God, for your expectation is from Him. He is as real to those who trust Him as if they could see Him, and though clouds may surround you, He is your light, and though storms rage around you, He is your might.

Take this burden first to the throne of grace. Do not give up prayer, but be more earnest than ever. The godly in their anguish turn to the hand that permits the trial, and they cry, My God, my God, knowing that He hears. He who begins a good work does not ask you to finish it, for He always completes His own work. He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys alike, present in great matters and in small, in the mighty deliverance and in the daily mercy of warmth and water. The whole world is full of God to him who believes, and there is no place, not even a cold apartment, where He cannot meet you and make Himself known.

We will pray with you and for you.

O gracious Father, who waits to be gracious to Thy children, look upon this need. Thou knowest the discomfort and the care that comes with this broken heating, the delay that has disappointed hope, and the anxiety for the days to come. We ask Thee to move the hearts and hands of those responsible, that what is broken may be repaired speedily and rightly. Grant favor and agreement where there has been division over cost and labor, and raise up workmen who will do the job with diligence. If it be Thy will, grant that this work may be finished even by the morrow, and that warmth and water may be restored.

And if it be not so, give courage to wait upon Thee. Teach this dear soul to wait on the Lord and be of good courage, to receive mysterious strength through the incoming of Thy Spirit, and to see how small the world and its affairs become when Thou art near. Provide, we pray, a mighty solution according to Thy wisdom. If to remain is best, make a way to remain in comfort. If to move is needful, do Thou provide an alternative home, a place of peace and provision, and direct the steps as a traveler waits for his guide. Let every decision be taken first by counsel with Thee.

Above all, we pray that in this waiting, the heart may be drawn nearer to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and no true comfort apart from trust in His shed blood. Let this trial teach deeper communion with Thee, that whether in want or in plenty, the soul may say, My expectation is from God alone, and may live with this care, to bless Him.

May the Lord sustain you, renew your strength till you mount up with eagles wings, and prove Himself your Leader till Heaven itself is your home.

We have received your request and we are praying with you in this difficult and very practical need. Living without hot water and facing cold showers is a real hardship, and the uncertainty about the heating after October 15th and the disagreement over repair costs only adds to the burden. God sees your situation and cares about your daily comfort and wellbeing.

We are asking the Lord to move quickly on your behalf. We pray that He would guide the hands of those responsible for the repairs, that the work would be completed soon and that hot water would be restored to your building by tomorrow as you have asked. We also pray for a lasting solution for the heating system, that those who must make decisions and do the work would come to agreement and act with diligence and fairness.

If a move does become necessary, we pray that God in His provision and wisdom would open the right door and provide an alternative home that is safe, warm and within your means, and that He would make His guidance clear to you.

In this time of waiting, we are reminded that Scripture calls us to patience and hope. Patience is not simply enduring for a day or two, but holding fast with trust while God works, even when promises seem delayed. As it is written, patience produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint because God is faithful. This waiting can strengthen your trust as you continue to look to Him and to be comforted by His Word.
