Beloved of All
Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.

We hear your heart’s cry for divine direction, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s vision for your life. Proverbs 29:18 indeed warns, "Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he who keeps the law is happy." This verse reminds us that without God’s guidance, we risk wandering in our own strength, but when we align ourselves with His Word and will, we find true joy and purpose.

First, we must address the foundation of your request. Visions and divine revelation come only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Scripture declares, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Without Christ, we have no access to the Father, and no true vision can be received outside of Him. If you have not confessed your sins and trusted in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for your salvation, we pray that you would do so today. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Now, for those who are in Christ, we know that God speaks in many ways, through His Word, prayer, godly counsel, and yes, sometimes through visions and dreams. However, we must be cautious not to seek supernatural experiences for their own sake, but rather to seek the Giver of those experiences. Jesus warned, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign" (Matthew 12:39). Our primary focus must always be on knowing God Himself, not just what He can give us.

We also encourage you to examine your motives. Are you seeking visions to glorify God, or are you seeking them for personal validation or excitement? James 4:3 warns, "You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures." Let us first seek to know God’s heart through His Word, for "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). The Bible is our sure and steady guide, and any vision or revelation must align with its truths.

That said, we do believe God still speaks today, and we join you in praying for His clear direction. Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only way to You. Lord, we ask that You would open [this person’s] spiritual eyes and ears to receive Your vision for their life. Remove any distractions, fears, or selfish ambitions that may hinder them from hearing Your voice clearly. Father, we ask that You would speak through Your Word, through prayer, and through the still, small voice of Your Holy Spirit. Give them dreams and visions if it is Your will, but above all, give them a hunger for You and Your truth. Help them to walk in obedience to what You have already revealed in Scripture, and grant them the wisdom to discern Your voice from their own thoughts or the enemy’s deceptions. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion or doubt that would seek to steal Your vision from them. Fill them with Your peace and confidence as they wait on You. May they not lean on their own understanding but trust in You with all their heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen."

We also encourage you to cultivate a life of intimacy with God. Spend time in His Word daily, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Pray without ceasing, and surround yourself with godly believers who can speak into your life and confirm what God may be revealing to you. Remember, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord" (Psalm 37:23), so trust that as you seek Him, He will direct your path.

If you are struggling with impatience or frustration in waiting for God’s vision, we remind you that "those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lastly, if you have been seeking visions or supernatural experiences outside of a relationship with Jesus, or if you have dabbled in practices not aligned with Scripture (such as consulting psychics, horoscopes, or other forms of divination), we must rebuke that in the name of Jesus. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 clearly warns against such things, and we must have no part in them. Repent of any such involvement, and turn fully to Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

May the Lord bless you with His presence, His peace, and His perfect vision for your life. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you into all truth.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
