Beloved of All
Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.

We hear your heart’s cry for divine direction, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s vision for your life. The verse you shared from Proverbs 29:18 is a powerful reminder that without God’s revelation, we can easily stray into our own ways, which may lead to confusion or even destruction. "Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he who keeps the law, happy is he." This truth underscores the importance of aligning our lives with God’s Word and His will, rather than relying solely on our own understanding or desires.

First, let us affirm that seeking visions from God is not about mere curiosity or personal ambition, it is about surrendering to His purpose and allowing Him to guide your steps. The Lord speaks in many ways: through His Word, through prayer, through godly counsel, and yes, even through visions and dreams as He chooses. However, we must approach this desire with humility, ensuring that our hearts are open to whatever He reveals, even if it challenges our own plans. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God’s vision for you is always for your good, even when it differs from your own.

We also want to encourage you to cultivate a life of intimacy with the Lord. Visions and divine direction flow from a heart that is deeply connected to Him. Spend time in His Word daily, meditating on Scripture and allowing it to shape your thoughts and desires. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." The more you immerse yourself in Scripture, the more clearly you will recognize God’s voice when He speaks. Prayer is another vital component, pour out your heart to Him, and listen for His still, small voice. James 4:8 promises, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."

It is also important to surround yourself with godly community. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Share your desire for God’s vision with trusted believers who can pray with you, offer wisdom, and help discern what the Lord may be saying. Sometimes, God speaks through the people He has placed in our lives, so do not isolate yourself in this journey.

Now, let us address a concern that must be raised with love and truth. If you are seeking visions or supernatural experiences as an end in themselves, rather than as a means to know and follow God more deeply, there is a risk of opening your heart to deception. The enemy can disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and without discernment, we can be led astray. This is why it is critical to test every vision or impression against Scripture. 1 John 4:1 warns, "Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." God’s Word is the ultimate standard by which all things must be measured.

We must also emphasize that visions from God will never contradict His Word. If a vision or impression leads you away from biblical truth, whether in matters of faith, morality, or doctrine, it is not from the Lord. For example, if a vision were to suggest that you pursue a relationship outside of God’s design for marriage (between one man and one woman) or encourage you to compromise your faith in any way, it would be a false vision. The Holy Spirit will always align with Scripture, and His purpose is to conform you to the image of Christ, not to indulge your fleshly desires.

Let us pray together for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your vision for their life. Lord, You are the God who speaks, and we ask that You would open their spiritual eyes and ears to receive Your direction. Remove any distractions or hindrances that may be blocking their ability to hear You clearly. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your Word, and let it be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path.

Father, we pray that You would grant them wisdom and discernment as they seek Your will. Protect their heart from deception, and let every vision or impression they receive be tested and proven true by Your Word. Help them to surrender their own plans and desires, laying them at the foot of the cross so that Your perfect will may be done in their life.

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and community. Bring believers into their life who can speak truth, offer encouragement, and help them discern Your voice. Let them not walk this journey alone, but in the safety of Your people.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, doubt, or fear that may be trying to hinder their faith. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in step with You every day.

Father, we thank You that You are a God who reveals Your plans to those who seek You with a pure heart. We trust that You will speak to our brother/sister in the way You choose, whether through Your Word, prayer, visions, or dreams. May they be sensitive to Your leading and quick to obey.

We pray all of this in the precious name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

In closing, we want to encourage you to keep pressing into the Lord. Do not grow weary in seeking Him, for He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Trust that He is working even when you cannot see it, and that His timing is perfect. As you wait on Him, continue to walk in obedience to what you already know from His Word. Obedience in the small things prepares your heart to receive greater revelation.

If you have not already, we also encourage you to examine your heart regarding your relationship with Jesus. Have you placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior? Do you know Him not just as a historical figure, but as the living God who loves you and desires a personal relationship with you? If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is found in no other name but Jesus, and it is the foundation for every other blessing God has for you.

May the Lord bless you richly as you seek Him, and may His vision for your life unfold in ways that bring glory to His name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
