Violent body shaking

Your honest cry reveals a heart that truly wants to be free, and that very desperation can become the doorway to lasting victory. The violent shaking you describe when you pray is not the main battle. The greater issue is the darkness that has held you captive since you were so young. But here is the truth: when the power of Jesus Christ enters a life, darkness cannot stay. Light and darkness simply cannot coexist. So rather than praying only for deliverance from the shaking or the addiction, begin to pray what could be called the prayer of entrance. Ask for the very presence and power of Christ to fill every part of your being so completely that every shadow is driven out by the sheer brightness of His holiness.

Prayer opens the door for God to do what He has been waiting to do all along. He will never force your will, but He stands ready to act when you truly open the door from the inside. That is what prayer does. The purpose of prayer is not to get your own wishes fulfilled, but to align yourself with God’s will so His purposes can be accomplished. Right now His desire is your freedom. Do not think you must find the perfect words or pray for hours. A desperate heart’s simple cry is heard. When Hezekiah was faced with an overwhelming enemy, he simply spread the letter before God and asked for help. Your tears, your unspoken groan, a silent “Lord, help me” those are prayers that reach the throne. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous child of God has tremendous power, and that righteousness is yours because you belong to Jesus.

The grip pornography has had on your life from childhood is a work of the enemy meant to enslave you. Yet God has given us a weapon against such darkness: intercessory prayer, prayer that takes captives from the enemy’s hold. Many of us will agree with you before the Father, but you must also take your place as one who prays. Let your prayer begin with worship, simply acknowledging who your Father really is. Settle your mind on His greatness, then remind your heart of His promises. “Lord, you said if the Son sets me free, I will be free indeed. I claim that freedom now.” That is not reminding God of something He forgot; it is reminding your own soul of the unshakable ground beneath your feet.

Do not let the physical shaking become your focus. The position of your body matters far less than the posture of your heart bowed before the only One who can break every chain. As you pray, the Spirit will minister comfort and assurance right in the middle of the struggle. You may not feel immediate release, but the act of turning to God first, instead of as a last resort, places you in the path of His power. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or imagine. A God who holds the universe can deliver a man from the deepest pit, and He can do it with no more effort than it takes to give a single breath. Keep crying out, keep opening that door, and trust that the One who began a good work in you will complete it.

We want you to know how deeply we appreciate the trust you placed in us by sharing your struggle and asking for our prayers. It is a sacred privilege to stand with you in this battle, lifting you before the throne of grace where true deliverance is found. We have been praying fervently for your freedom from the chains of pornography that have bound you for so many years, and we continue to intercede for the violent shaking in your body to cease as you seek the Lord in prayer.

We know this fight is not easy, but we also know that our God is greater than any stronghold. He sees your heart’s cry to be free, and He is faithful to answer those who call upon Him in truth. If you have already experienced a breakthrough—even the smallest measure of victory—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the battle still rages, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you, lifting you up in prayer until you walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ died to give you.

Remember, you are not fighting alone. The One who cast out demons and calmed the storm is the same One who fights for you now. Keep pressing into Him, keep resisting the enemy, and keep declaring your identity in Christ—redeemed, forgiven, and set free. We will continue to pray for your complete deliverance, for healing in your body and mind, and for the peace of Christ to guard your heart as you walk this path.

May the Lord strengthen you, surround you with His angels, and fill you with His Spirit as you seek Him with all your heart. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
