We hear the deep pain and urgency in your cry and we join with you in bringing this suffering before the Lord, for He sees all that has happened to you and to other patients and He does not overlook injustice or affliction. We understand the desire for immediate accountability when you feel you have been treated badly and dismissively and left with suffering, and we want to lift this burden to the One who judges righteously.

We also want to gently bring biblical truth to the way we pray about this, because while God indeed loves justice and hates wrongdoing, He calls us to entrust vengeance and judgment to Him and to seek His will rather than demanding our own outcome on our own timing. Scripture says Vengeance is mine and I will repay, says the Lord in Romans 12:19, and again Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but give place to God's wrath. We are also taught to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us as Jesus said Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you in Matthew 5:44 and Luke 6:28. This does not mean we excuse wrongdoing or that accountability should not happen, for the Lord executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed in Psalm 103:6 and He has established authorities to carry out justice as in Romans 13:1-4, but it does mean we release bitterness and the desire for personal revenge and for shaming, and we ask God to do what is right in His perfect wisdom and timing. To pray that a person be put to shame or brought to his knees out of anger is not the heart God desires for us, for He desires that all would come to repentance as in 2 Peter 3:9 and that even those who have done wrong would be convicted, confess, and turn from their ways. Forgiveness in our hearts does not remove consequences, but Scripture warns us Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you in Ephesians 4:31-32, so that we do not become consumed by the very hurt that was done to us.

We also notice your earnest appeal in the name of Jesus Christ and we affirm with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and there is salvation in no other name as in Acts 4:12. We come together in that precious name, not to command God to act instantly as we dictate, but to humbly submit to His sovereign justice and mercy, trusting that He will uncover what is hidden, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed in Luke 8:17, and that He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness in 1 Corinthians 4:5 in His perfect time as in Ecclesiastes 3:1 and Psalm 27:14.

We pray together for you and for all the patients who have suffered. We ask the Lord to bring healing to your body and peace to your heart, for He is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a crushed spirit in Psalm 34:18. We pray that if wrongdoing and arrogance and dismissive care have truly occurred, the Lord would expose the truth and that proper authorities, medical boards and those in positions of oversight, would act with wisdom, thoroughness and impartial justice to protect future patients, for when justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous in Proverbs 21:15. We pray that the surgeon in question would be brought under deep conviction by the Holy Spirit, that he would acknowledge any harm done, repent, and be transformed, and if he is unfit to practice, that the Lord would in His providence prevent further harm through lawful and just means rather than through our own vengeance. We ask God to remove bitterness from our hearts and to help us to overcome evil with good in Romans 12:21, entrusting ourselves to Him who judges justly as Christ did in 1 Peter 2:23.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is hurting and all the patients who have suffered. You see every tear, every injustice, every arrogant word and every wound. We ask You to be our righteous Judge and Healer. Let truth be revealed and let justice be done according to Your perfect righteousness. We pray for lawful accountability where it is needed, for protection for future patients, and for wisdom for those who investigate these matters. We pray for this surgeon, that You would convict his heart, lead him to repentance and to a true understanding of the stewardship of caring for those made in Your image. Heal those who have been harmed, comfort them, restore what has been broken, and guard our hearts from hatred, helping us to forgive as You have forgiven us and to trust Your timing and Your ways. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and mediator, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your pain honestly to the Lord, to seek godly counsel and support, and to pursue proper and lawful channels for reporting concerns so that truth can be examined fairly, while you rest in the assurance that the Lord loves justice in Psalm 37:28 and will in the end make all things right.

We have read your prayer and we hear how much pain and anger you are carrying right now. Being harmed while under a surgeon's care, and feeling dismissed or treated with arrogance, can leave you feeling unheard and unsafe. It makes sense that you want urgently to be taken seriously and for what happened to be addressed, especially when you believe others have been hurt as well.

When there is a large gap between what should have happened and what did happen, it is hard not to replay it over and over. That looping can keep hurt and anger very close, and it is exhausting to carry alone.

We will pray for you, for your healing and for wisdom about next steps. If you have not already, it may help to have one trusted person walk with you through this, a pastor, counselor, or advocate, and to use the proper channels for medical concerns, such as a patient relations advocate at the hospital or clinic where you were seen, who can document what happened and explain how a review works. Please also keep following up with your own medical team about any ongoing suffering, alongside prayer and not instead of it, so you have care for your body as well as your heart.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. You see the pain, the disappointment, and the desire for justice. Bring comfort, bring healing, and bring wise and caring support around them. Lead them to the right help and give them peace as they look to You. Amen.

Your cry of pain has been heard, and the suffering you describe, both your own and that of other patients, is not hidden from the Lord who sees all that is done and who judges righteously.

In such deep distress the heart naturally cries out for immediate punishment and for shame to fall upon the one who has caused the hurt. It is right to desire that wrong be made right and that truth be brought to light, for the Lord loves justice. Yet Scripture teaches us to place vengeance in His hands and not to let bitterness take root within us. As it is written, vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay in His perfect wisdom and time.

There is a bitterness that the soul feels when it has been wounded, but that bitterness, if it remains, will only do further harm to the wounded one. One effect of looking to the Cross is to take away all bitterness against our fellow men, not because wrong does not matter, but because Christ has borne the judgment and calls us to trust the Father who judges justly. To trust Him truly is to say, I will not be afraid, for God is my refuge, and He will do what is right.

You have asked for swift and severe judgment upon this surgeon. Let us instead pray that the Lord, who is both just and merciful, will cause the truth to be fully known, that those in rightful authority will examine all that has been done with honesty and care, and that no further harm will come to any patient. If wrong has been done, pray that it will be rightly addressed through the proper and lawful means which God has ordained for the protection of all. And pray also, as hard as it may be, for the soul of the man himself, that if there is arrogance or neglect, he may be brought to see it, to repent, and to seek forgiveness with God, for there is forgiveness with Him, though sins be great, through the blood of Jesus Christ.

That forgiveness does not make wrong to be right, nor does it remove lawful accountability, but it reminds us that we too stand in need of mercy. We have in Him a full forgiveness, an eternal forgiveness, and because we have been so forgiven, we are called to release the burden of personal vengeance into the hands of God and to seek peace.

Let us pray together:

O Lord, You know the pain and suffering that has been endured. You see every patient and every wound. We ask You to bring healing to those who have been hurt, to comfort troubled hearts, and to grant wisdom to all who are responsible for overseeing medical care, that truth may be revealed and justice done according to Your righteousness. Restrain all that would cause further harm. Work in every heart concerned, bringing conviction where it is needed and repentance where there is sin. And grant to the one who has prayed this prayer a quiet trust in Your goodness, a heart kept from consuming bitterness, and the peace that comes from knowing that there is forgiveness with You through Jesus Christ our Lord. Help in this trial to trust and not to fear, looking to Christ alone for salvation and for rest. Amen.
