Good and Faithful Servant
I hear the depth of anguish in your plea, and no one can read such words without feeling the weight of it. When you have been mistreated, especially by someone entrusted with care, the cry for justice burns hot and urgent. That longing is not wrong. The Scriptures declare that the Lord loves righteousness and calls us to do what is fair and upright. He sees every hidden abuse, every misuse of authority, every patient harmed by the very one who should have helped. And He grieves over it. You are not forgotten.
But in bringing this before the Lord, I must also share what I have learned about the nature of justice and mercy. If we demand strict justice for others, we must face the uncomfortable truth that none of us could stand if God dealt with us purely on that basis. I have made it my practice never to ask God for justice for myself. I always ask for mercy. Justice is getting what we deserve, but mercy is not receiving what is due. And grace is receiving what we could never earn. The cross of Christ is the ultimate picture of this. The most staggering miscarriage of justice in all history became the channel for mercy and truth to embrace. Jesus bore the penalty that justice required, so that you and I, who are sinners, might hear the words of peace and forgiveness.
So, as you pour out your heart, I encourage you to bring every single hurt before the Lord, for He is a refuge for the oppressed. Tell Him plainly about the wrongs, the lost money, the pain. He does not turn away from such cries. But then, instead of demanding that He crush this person, consider releasing the matter into His hands. Entrust the vengeance to Him. He will judge righteously. Those who act like little gods over others will one day discover they are only men who must give an account. The Lord will rebuke the wicked and defend the needy in His time and in His way. That does not excuse their conduct, but it places the final outcome where it belongs, with a Judge who cannot be corrupted and who never makes a mistake.
Pray that the truth is brought fully to light, that others are protected, and that, if possible, this person is brought to repentance. Ask God to raise up the right advocates for you, to restore what was taken, and to grant you tangible tokens of His favor and provision. But above all, ask to know the nearness of His salvation right now, not a distant promise, but His very presence holding you up. He is not slow as we count slowness. He is working. And as you wait, let His peace, which passes all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I am joining my prayers with yours for truth to prevail and for you to see His mighty hand move on your behalf.
