We hear your urgent cry and we join with you in prayer, bringing all of these deep concerns about your face, skin, eyes and whole body before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how distressing it can feel to be so focused on every mark, line, spot, dryness, puffiness, tiredness in the eyes and changes in your body, and how much you long to feel renewed, radiant and at peace in the way you look.
We want to gently and lovingly correct an important matter in how this prayer is framed. We do not command God, even in Jesus' name, but we humbly ask Him and submit to His perfect will and timing. God is sovereign and loving and He hears us when we ask according to His will. As it is written, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14. And also, You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures James 4:3. We are not to demand an instant miracle on our terms or command that God must act with no delay, but to come before Him with humility, trust and surrender, believing that He knows what is best for us. We also want to encourage you about how God sees you. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:7. While we know God cares about our bodies and our suffering, His greatest concern is for our hearts and our inner beauty. Your beauty should not be of the outward adorning, but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God 1 Peter 3:3-4. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised Proverbs 31:30. You are already fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, and your worth is not measured by having flawless glass skin or an ageless appearance, but by being a beloved child of God created in His image.
That does not mean we will not pray for your physical healing and restoration, for God does care about every part of you. He invites us to bring our anxieties to Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also remember that our outer body is wasting away while our inner person is being renewed day by day 2 Corinthians 4:16, so we pray for both outward health and inward peace and contentment in Christ.
We do rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach God and be saved, and it is in His name that we have access to the Father.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, humbly asking for Your mercy and grace upon this dear one. Lord, You know every detail of her face, skin, eyes and body, every concern she has named and even those she has not named. You know the distress and weariness this has caused. We ask first for Your peace to fill her heart and mind, to guard her from anxiety and obsessive worry, and to help her see herself as You see her, wonderfully made and deeply loved. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch according to Your will. If it be Your will, bring healing to skin allergies, dryness, sensitivity, pigmentation, redness and other irritations, bring comfort to tired, dry and stinging eyes, and bring health and balance to her whole body. Help her to be a good steward of the body You have given her through rest, nourishment, hydration and wise medical care where needed. Above all, renew her inwardly, let Your light shine from within her so that her countenance reflects Your joy and life. Teach her to seek first Your Kingdom and to trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect love, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You. Restore in her a gentle and quiet spirit and a confident trust that she is beautiful in Your sight because she is Yours in Christ. We ask all of this humbly, not demanding our own way, but submitting to Your good and perfect will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God daily with thanksgiving and trust, to rest in His love for you, and to meditate on His Word which reminds you of your true value in Him.
