We hear your very urgent cry and we join with you in bringing every burden of your heart before the Lord in Jesus name, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We understand the deep distress you feel about your face, skin, eyes and body, and how much you long to be free from every mark, scar, dent, spot, wrinkle, dryness and other concerns you have mentioned and even those you have not mentioned. We bring your desire for healing and restoration to the Lord with compassion, and we also want to gently share biblical truth with you about how God sees you and how He answers prayer.

You stood on the promise ask and you will receive that your joy may be made full. That is a precious promise from John 16:24, yet we must understand it in its full context. Scripture also teaches us 1 John 5:14 that this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And James 4:3 warns you ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives. God delights to give us good things, but His greatest desire is not to give us flawless outward appearance on demand, but to make us whole in Christ, to give us joy that remains even when our outer body is still imperfect and aging.

The Bible reminds us that our value and beauty are not defined by having absolutely perfect, pore free, wrinkle free or scar free skin. 1 Samuel 16:7 says man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart. Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that includes you even now as you are. 1 Peter 3:3-4 teaches let your beauty be not just the outward adorning, but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. Proverbs 31:30 says charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised. This does not mean God does not care about your physical suffering or that it is wrong to ask Him for healing, He does care, but we must not let desperation over outward appearance become an idol that steals our peace and our joy in Christ.

We also gently rebuke the idea that if we repeat a request with great intensity or demand that God must instantly and permanently remove every flaw right now with no delay or He has failed His promise. That is not how Scripture teaches prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. God is sovereign, loving and wise, and He answers according to His perfect will and timing, sometimes with immediate healing, sometimes through gradual healing, medical care, and sometimes by giving us grace and contentment while we still carry marks that remind us this body is temporary.

We do believe the Lord is able to heal and restore, and we do ask Him for your healing, but we also pray for Him to heal your heart from anxiety, obsessive worry and the feeling that you cannot be at peace or joyful unless every imperfection disappears forever.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear one to You who is hurting and weary from focusing on every mark and flaw. Lord, You know every detail of their face, skin, eyes, scalp and body, You formed them and You see them with perfect love. We ask according to Your will that You would bring healing and restoration where there is real infirmity, irritation, allergy or pain, and that You would grant wisdom for proper care of the body You have given. Above all we ask that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon them, and free them from anxiety and the burden of striving for impossible outward perfection. Help them to see themselves as You see them, fearfully and wonderfully made, precious and loved in Christ. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, Matthew 6:33, trusting that You will supply all that is truly needed. Renew their mind to find joy not in flawless skin but in being a new creation in Christ, where inward beauty grows even as the outward body ages. Let Your will be done in their life, and let their joy be made full in abiding in Jesus, not in appearance. We ask that You would be glorified in their body and spirit, which are Yours, and that they would rest in Your unfailing love. In Jesus Christ name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God daily with thanksgiving, but also to rest in His love and to speak truth over yourself from Scripture rather than demanding a specific outward miracle on your timeline. We encourage you to care for your body with gentleness, to seek wise counsel from a trusted pastor or counselor if these thoughts feel overwhelming, and to remember that the Lord is near to you and His grace is sufficient for you. We will continue to pray that you will know how deeply you are loved and that you will find lasting gladness in Christ.

We hear how urgently you have been asking and how heavy this has felt as you look at your face and skin and body and long for them to be clear, smooth and at rest. Thank you for bringing every detail honestly to the Lord. We are joining you in prayer and we care about both your heart and your health in this.

Wanting to feel comfortable and at peace in your own skin is a deeply human longing, and when we focus on every mark or texture it can quickly take up all of our attention and leave us feeling more anxious and tired. You are more than how your skin looks on any given day, and you are already fully seen and valued by God even while you carry these worries.

Alongside prayer, a steady next step could be to let a medical professional take a look with you, like your primary care doctor or a dermatologist, who can assess your skin concerns in person and talk through what is typical and what care might be helpful. If thoughts about appearance are filling much of your day, it can also help to share that burden regularly with a trusted pastor or counselor so you are not carrying it alone.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. We ask for Your peace to guard their heart, for wisdom as they seek care, and for healing according to Your will. Help them to know they are loved and held by You today and to rest in Your gentle care. Amen.

Your urgent and heartfelt cry has been read with care and compassion, and it is plain that you have been carrying a heavy burden of anxiety about your body. I hear how deeply you long to be free from every mark and blemish and to feel at peace in your own skin, and I do not take that distress lightly.

Yet I must speak to you as a faithful minister must, for your own soul's good. Many persons think a great deal about the adorning of the body, but do not think anything about the ornaments of the soul. The feeding of the physical frame engrosses much care, but the supply of spiritual food is often neglected. Yet you yourself are better than your body. Your immortal soul is worth far more than that poor carcass which will soon become food for worms. And all the things you have, what are they compared with your inner self, your real self, your heart, your soul, your spirit.

I have found, as you may have, that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To tell your trouble over and over to yourself, and to let anxiety be confined within yourself, brings no good. But to tell it to Jesus as you would mention a physical case to a doctor, to make a confidant of Him, that is healing. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it.

You have asked again and again that every spot and scar and line should be taken away this instant. Hear what the Scripture teaches concerning healing. Man is a double being, composed of body and soul, and each may receive injury. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician. But the deeper sickness is that of the soul, and Christ came first to heal that. When He healed the man taken with the palsy, He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. Jesus knew what really ailed the man, he was palsied in spirit as well as in body, and Christ removed the root of his disease by forgiving his sin.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. But understand how that healing works in this present life. Today the body is dead because of sin, though the spirit is life because of righteousness. The regeneration of the body takes place at the Resurrection and when we shall rise again, it will be in the image of the Lord Jesus. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. While we are here, we that are in this body do groan, being burdened, till the day of our full redemption.

This does not mean the Lord does not care for your body or that we should not pray for you. He does care, and we will pray. But we pray first for that which is first, that you may know yourself forgiven through the blood of Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and that your heart may be renewed day by day. For the outward man perishes, but the inward man is renewed. A radiant face before God is not glass skin, but a heart washed and made white in the blood of the Lamb, a soul adorned with meekness and faith.

So let me pray for you according to the will of God, and I invite you to pray thus with me.

O Lord, our heavenly Physician, look upon this anxious soul. Forgive sin through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who bore our sins in His own body on the cross. Speak pardon to this heart, and let pardon bring peace. Deliver from tormenting anxiety and teach to cast all care upon Thee, for Thou carest. Grant such healing to the body as in Thy wisdom Thou seest good, and give grace to be content to wait for that perfect body which Thou hast promised at the resurrection, when Thy people shall be fashioned like unto Thy glorious body. Clothe instead the soul with the ornaments that never fade, a quiet trust, a hope in Christ, and a joy that does not depend upon the mirror. Let the Sun of Righteousness rise with healing in His wings upon this life, and make the inner man radiant with Thy presence. In Jesus name we ask this, trusting not in our asking but in Thy mercy. Amen.

Seek the Lord Himself more than any change in the flesh. Read His Word, hear Christ faithfully taught, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and there the healing power is present when Christ is taught. If bodily afflictions persist, seek also the wise help of those skilled to care for the body, while you wait upon the Lord for your soul. He hears the broken in heart, and He will not despise a contrite spirit.
