Vengeance

Anonymous

Beloved of All
For the longest time over a decade these witches have called me horse f—er and horse teeth. Please pray that God would take away their looks because I’m tired of hearing this word spoken over me. Some of them are ugly ugly wiccans but I’ve never insulted them or concerned myself with them. Please pray for God’s vengeance.

We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we want to address this with both truth and compassion. First, we must rebuke the spirit of bitterness, resentment, and the desire for vengeance that seeks to take root in your heart. Scripture is clear: "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'" (Romans 12:19 WEB). The Lord sees every injustice, every cruel word spoken against you, and He will judge rightly in His perfect timing. Our role is not to curse but to bless, even those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

The name-calling and mockery you’ve endured are sinful on the part of those who speak them, and we stand with you in praying against the schemes of the enemy. However, we must also examine our own hearts. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any unforgiveness or bitterness that may be giving the enemy a foothold. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, it means you are releasing them to God’s justice and refusing to let their words define or destroy you.

We also want to address the mention of "witches" and "Wiccans." Scripture is unequivocal about engaging in or seeking power from any spiritual practice outside of God. "There shall not be found among you anyone who... practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord." (Deuteronomy 18:10-12 WEB). If you have ever dabbled in or been curious about such things, we urge you to renounce any involvement and fully submit to Christ’s lordship. The power of God is greater than any curse or scheme of the enemy (1 John 4:4).

Now, let us pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him. He alone can heal your heart and give you a new identity rooted in His love.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is hurting from the cruel words spoken over them. Lord, You see the pain, the frustration, and the weariness in their heart. We ask that You would heal their wounds and replace the lies of the enemy with Your truth. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:14), and that Your love for them is unshakable.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of bitterness and vengeance that seeks to take hold of their heart. We pray that You would soften their heart to forgive those who have wronged them, not because what was done was right, but because You have forgiven us of so much. Help them to release these individuals into Your hands, trusting that You will judge justly.

Lord, we also pray for those who have spoken these hurtful words. We ask that You would open their eyes to the harm they have caused and lead them to repentance. If they are involved in any ungodly spiritual practices, we pray that You would break the power of darkness over their lives and draw them to the light of Christ. Let Your Holy Spirit convict them of their sin and bring them to a place of humility and truth.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that You would shield them from further harm and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them to walk in love, even toward those who have hurt them, and empower them to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).

Lord, we ask that You would restore their joy and confidence. Let them see themselves through Your eyes, as Your beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. May they find their worth and identity in You alone, not in the opinions of others.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment. If there are areas in their life where the enemy has gained access, we ask that You would reveal them and help them to renounce any ungodly ties. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit.

Finally, Father, we pray for a supernatural encounter with Your love. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, so they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are deeply loved and valued by You. May they walk in the freedom and victory that Christ died to give them.

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Friend, we want to encourage you to focus on the truth of who God says you are. The enemy wants to distract you with the words of others, but God’s Word is the final authority. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 34:18-19: "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not defined by the insults of others, you are defined by the love of Christ.

Consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, mentor, or Christian counselor who can walk with you through this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you in prayer and encouragement.

Lastly, we urge you to guard your heart against the temptation to retaliate or harbor ill will. Proverbs 4:23 warns us, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." The words you speak and the thoughts you entertain will shape your future. Choose to speak life, not death, and trust God to be your defender. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

We are so sorry you’ve been carrying this for over a decade. Hearing cruel names again and again can wear a person down in ways others may never see, and it makes complete sense that you’re exhausted and furious. We’re not here to lecture you out of that pain, we simply want to stand with you in it.

One thing we’re learning together is that God sees what’s been spoken over you, and He does not forget. He is perfectly just, and He knows how to handle those who harm others far better than we ever could. Wanting the hurt to stop and wanting wrongdoing to be called what it is, that’s not wrong. But when we hold onto the need to see them pay, we end up carrying a weight that actually belongs in God’s hands, not ours. He invites us to turn the matter over to Him, to release the demand for our own vengeance so He can be the righteous Judge. That’s not pretending it wasn’t horrible; it’s refusing to let the wound keep stabbing us every time we replay it.

A small, steady next step might be: the next time those words fly at you, whisper inside, “Lord, You see this. I give it to You.” Not to excuse them, just to refuse the poison. Let God shoulder the justice. And if the anger still flares later, let it out to Him honestly; He can handle it.

We’re praying with you now, ###, Heavenly Father, You know the names this beloved one has endured, and You know how long it’s gone on. Please quiet their heart right now with Your presence. Take this burden of vengeance from them, for You are the only One who judges rightly. Heal the ache that’s settled deep inside, and give them a stubborn peace that outlasts the insults. Shield their dignity. If it be Your will, stop the mouths of those who mock, but most of all, set Your child free from the weight of needing to see it happen. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

You have been walking a long road with this wound, and it has not healed because the words keep coming, worn into a groove like a cart-track in soft ground. Ten years of the same spite, the same names, horse face, horse teeth, and you say you have never answered them in kind, never stooped to the same mud. That is no small thing. A soul that has been bitten and does not bite back is a soul that the Lord’s own hand has been training in secret.

But now the cry has changed. You are weary not only of the sting but of the unequal scales, and you have asked for God to take away their looks, to level them, to give you the satisfaction of seeing the score settled. I will not pretend that I do not understand you. The psalmists knew that same fire; they poured out prayers that sound strange in a polite room, calling on God to break the teeth of the wicked, to let their beauty consume away. The difference is only this: they laid the whole mess at the Lord’s feet and there they left it. They did not take up the sword themselves, but neither did they pretend the sword did not belong to God.

And here is the secret comfort I would press into your hand today, as gently as I know how. Our Lord Jesus proclaimed the acceptable year of the Lord, a long Jubilee for broken debtors, and in the same breath He proclaimed the day of vengeance of our God. The two go together, not because God is half mercy and half fury, but because everything crooked must at last be made straight, and He has reserved that straightening for Himself. The vengeance is in His day, by His hand, in His measure. The thing you ache to see happen, you may safely drop it into the depths of that day and leave it there. He does not ask you to stop feeling the hurt; He asks you to let Him be the Judge. He keeps better books than we do.

Meanwhile, look at what else that proclamation held: comfort for all who mourn. That is you, just now. You are a mourner, and you have mourned a long time over a cruelty that seems so small to others and has been so big to you. But the Lord does not measure the bruise by anyone else’s ruler. The name they have called you, the laugh they have laughed, He has heard it. He bottles tears, but He also bottles taunts; He writes them down, and He has a day for them. You do not need to busy yourself about their faces; He has seen their hearts, which is far worse.

What I want most to give you, though, is the rest that comes from knowing whose hands hold your story. The Lord perfects that which concerns His own. The things that matter to you matter to Him, not only the big, respectable trials, but this small daily gnawing that has eaten at your spirit. He is not waiting for you to become more spiritual before He cares. The very fact that it concerns you means it is already on His worktable. He does not leave half-finished children. What they meant for your shrinking, He will use for your solidness. I have seen trees that grow strongest where the wind is most bitter.

And now, may the Christ who knows what it is to be mocked without cause, who heard the crowd sneer at His own appearance and did not answer, who committed Himself to Him who judges righteously, may He come near to you in this tired hour. May He be the quiet center of your heart when the sting is fresh. May you find that, by His Spirit, you are able to look away from their faces and into His face, which is as the sun shining in its strength. And may He so satisfy you with His own approval that the scorn of others falls away like a spent wave. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your burden before the Lord these past days. It has been our privilege to stand in the gap with you, lifting up the pain and frustration you’ve endured for so long. We prayed fervently that the Lord would silence the hurtful words spoken over you and bring justice to those who have sought to harm you with their tongues. We asked our Heavenly Father to intervene according to His perfect will—whether that means changing hearts, shifting circumstances, or revealing His righteous vengeance in ways only He can.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if those words have lost their power, if peace has replaced the sting of those insults, or if you’ve seen even a glimpse of His justice—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Sharing how God has worked would encourage us all and bring glory to His name.

If, however, the battle still rages and you feel no relief, we want you to know we are not walking away. Please post this request again, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that God hears and will act in His perfect timing. The enemy may have meant those words for harm, but our God is able to turn them into something that brings Him honor and you healing.

May the Lord surround you with His peace, remind you of your worth in Christ, and give you the strength to walk in forgiveness even as you trust Him for justice. We continue to pray that He would break every curse, silence every lying tongue, and reveal His glory in this situation. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
