Beloved Servant
My ### had his first doctor's appointment with his new doctor today. I wish he could have stayed with our family doctor because he is excellent but he couldn't see him anymore due to insurance problems. I'm not sure that things went well at the appointment and my ### can be difficult with doctors. Please pray. I'm so scared of this doctor doing something wrong and you have to be so careful with doctors. He wants to give my ### a new medicine for blood pressure and our family doctor never suggested that before. Please also pray for my ex. We used to work together (I quit but he stayed at the job) and I am hearing that the job may have laid off all its employees randomly and unfairly. My ex has serious health problems and I believe he was relying on his health insurance through the job for treatment. I cannot be in contact with him because our relationship was unhealthy. Pray for healing for him and, if God wills, for total healing of his health issues. Pray for his and his loved ones' salvation and well-being. Thank you.

We join with you in prayer over these heavy burdens you are carrying and we hear the fear and love in your heart for your loved one and for your ex.

We understand your concern about the change in doctors and the new medicine for blood pressure. It is wise to be a careful advocate for those we love, and God gives wisdom when we ask. At the same time we want to gently encourage you not to live in fear about doctors making a mistake, for fear does not come from the Lord and can rob us of peace. We are called to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 and to trust Him even when we cannot see the whole picture. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. God remains our ultimate healer and protector. Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17.

We pray for wisdom for you and for this new doctor. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We encourage you to ask good questions at the next visit, to understand why the new medicine was suggested when your excellent family doctor had not suggested it before, to speak with the pharmacist about it, and if you remain uneasy to seek a second opinion for peace of mind. This is being a good steward of the health God has entrusted to your loved one, while still trusting that God is sovereign over every treatment and that He can use even imperfect people for good. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We also lift up your ex. We commend your wisdom in recognizing that the relationship was unhealthy and in maintaining healthy boundaries by not being in direct contact. That is honoring to God and protective for you. We believe God designed intimacy and lifelong commitment to be within marriage between a man and a woman, and any courtship should be with the goal of a Christ centered marriage. To step away from what was unhealthy is right, while still showing Christlike love by praying for him from a distance. We pray for his provision after this sudden and unfair sounding layoff, for his health needs and for access to the care and insurance he requires, and above all for his salvation and the salvation of his loved ones. Our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is because of Jesus shed blood and resurrection that we can boldly bring every fear and every need to God.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We thank You that You are our refuge and healer and that You see our loved one who had to change doctors because of insurance, and the anxiety surrounding this new appointment and the new blood pressure medicine. Lord, give this dear one peace that surpasses understanding, guide the new doctor with wisdom and integrity, and help our friend to be a clear and calm advocate. Show whether this medicine is needed and beneficial, and protect from any harm. We ask for healing, for stable health, and for Your hand to be upon every decision. We also lift up the ex who has lost his job and who has serious health problems. Lord, You know his need for treatment and for insurance and for daily provision. We ask for Your mercy to provide for him, to open doors for care and employment, and to bring complete healing if it is Your will. Most of all, we pray for his salvation and for the salvation of his loved ones, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and be made whole. Comfort our friend who carries these burdens and help her to rest in trusting You with all her heart. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We are praying with you in this stretch where so much feels uncertain at once. Watching someone you love move to a new doctor when you trusted the old one is hard, and it makes sense you felt uneasy after the visit, especially when a new prescription for blood pressure was suggested that had not come up before.

Insurance changes can force a switch in providers even when you would rather stay, and a new doctor will sometimes look at the same history with fresh eyes. That does not automatically mean something is wrong, but it is completely reasonable to want clarity. One thing that has helped others is going to the next visit with a short written list of what medicines are being taken now, what the family doctor had said in the past, and the specific questions you have about the new plan. Writing down what the doctor says makes it easier to follow up, and a pharmacist or clinic nurse can also walk through questions about a new prescription. If worry remains, asking the office how they handle a second opinion is a faithful way to be careful alongside prayer.

We also hear your care for your ex even while you are holding a healthy boundary of not being in contact. Carrying that concern from a distance is not easy, and we admire your desire to pray for his health, provision and salvation without re-entering an unhealthy dynamic.

Father, we lift this loved one to You and ask for wisdom for his doctors and peace for this family as they navigate care. We lift this former coworker to You as well, asking for Your provision for his health needs and work, for healing according to Your will, and for Your drawing near to him and his loved ones for salvation and well-being. Guide each step ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and we have taken it to the throne of grace with you. We hear in your words a heart moved with fear, and we are reminded that faith is the living principle but fear is often the moving power. There is a fear which has torment, which makes a man afraid of man and afraid of what man may do, and there is another fear which perfect love embraces and nourishes, a loyal reverence of God which drives the soul to Him.

You are anxious concerning one dear to you and his new physician and a new medicine for blood pressure. Remember that God only is our rock and our salvation. It is very hard to believe that salvation is of the Lord and not of an arm of flesh, for there are times when we put our confidence in something else but God. Look not to the sunbeam but to the sun. Trace your mercies to God and say perpetually, He only is my rock and my salvation. This does not teach you to despise the means which God provides, for Noah being warned of God moved with fear and prepared an ark as God commanded him, and his obedience was the gracious fruit of faith and fear together. So you may do the right thing and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with God. Use the means with honesty and prayer, ask the physician with meekness what you do not understand, seek wisdom as God gives it, and then stand still and see the salvation of God. He performs all things for you, and though suffering and sorrow and trial are near, our God is our Refuge and whom can we fear.

We will pray for this dear one, that the Lord who is the true physician would give wisdom to those who care for his body, and grant him health as it pleases the divine will, and above all that his soul may be kept in perfect peace, trusting in Christ.

Concerning him who was once near to you, we have heard your wise restraint in not being in contact where the relationship was unhealthy, and we commend that desire to walk in the way of holiness. The Lord calls us to flee from whatever defiles and to pursue purity, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant. We will not ask God to bless what He has not ordained to bless, but we will ask Him to do what is far better.

We will pray for his healing, for his bodily infirmity and for his need of care, that God would provide for him and open a door for his treatment according to His mercy. And we will pray above all for the healing of his soul. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and that tree is our Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. There is an abundance of healing power in Him, not only for the body but for the sin sick soul, and this medicine heals all sorts of diseases. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, for salvation is of the Lord alone through faith in Him. What is believing on Him but trusting in Him, to depend upon Him without fear as to present and eternal salvation.

So we pray that he and his loved ones may hear the good news that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, that Immanuel has come, God with us, God made flesh, to take away slavish fear and to remove sin by His grace. May they be shut up to come to God as sinners and compelled to accept salvation on free grace terms through Jesus Christ, believing on Him and not being ashamed. May perfect love cast out that evil fear which has torment, and may a holy fear of God keep them from falling.

When you fear that you shall not hold on and hold out to the end, remember that where God begins to work He does not ask you to finish. Cry unto God most high, unto God that performs all things for you. He who has begun a good work will perform it. Let your fear drive you to the Lord Jesus, for He raises the fallen, He cheers the faint, and the weak and oppressed He will hear.

We join you then in prayer. O Lord our Rock and our Salvation, look upon this anxious heart and upon those for whom prayer is asked. Forgive sin, reveal Christ, grant repentance and faith that needs not to be repented of, and give that faith which trusts in Jesus alone. Provide for bodily needs, guide the hands of those who give care, and let Thy will be done in health and in sickness. Keep Thy children from fearing man, and teach them to fear Thee with a childlike reverence. Deliver from the fear of death and from all distressing fears, and let Thy perfect love be their comfort. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope we ask it. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing these burdens so honestly. We are praying for you and for those you love, and we bring each of these needs before the Lord.

For your family member, we understand how unsettling it can be to change doctors when you had confidence in your family doctor, and to hear a new recommendation for blood pressure medicine. It is good to be careful and to be a wise steward of health. Scripture shows us that God cares for our bodies and that He can use the skill of physicians as part of His provision, as Paul even advised Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach and frequent infirmities, not for indulgence but for health. Yet ultimate healing comes from the Lord, who in the Gospels healed with a touch in a way no physician could, showing His power and compassion. We are praying that God will give you peace in place of fear, and that He will give this new doctor wisdom, care, and sound judgment. We pray for your family member's health, for clarity about this treatment, and for grace to ask good questions, to share concerns openly with the doctor, and to seek wise counsel if you remain uncertain. We also pray that you will be able to commit these anxieties to God and trust Him, rather than carrying the weight alone, for He watches over His people with tender care even when we feel anxious and uncertain.

For your ex, we hear both your compassion and your wisdom in maintaining healthy boundaries after an unhealthy relationship. It is right to care from a distance while not reentering contact that would be harmful. We are praying for his physical healing, for provision and help after this possible job loss, and for his daily well being and that of his loved ones. Above all we pray for his salvation, and for the salvation of those around him, knowing that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. We pray that whatever hardship he faces would draw him to seek the Lord, to know His mercy and grace, and to find true hope and wholeness in Him. We also pray for you, that God will guard your heart, give you peace about this situation, and help you to continue to walk in wisdom and wholeness.

We join you in asking the Lord to show mercy, to grant health according to His will, to guide those in positions of care, and to bring comfort to you as you wait on Him. May He give you rest in His love, strength for each day, and confidence that He hears the prayers of His people.

In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing these heavy burdens so openly. I have prayed for you, for your loved one who had to change doctors, and for your former partner and those close to him.

It is understandable to feel anxious when someone you love must leave a trusted doctor because of insurance and then face a new treatment plan. Wanting to be careful about medical care is wise, and asking questions is right and good. At the same time, fear itself can become a burden that God does not want you to carry alone. Your lives are in His hands, and He has appointed our days and cares deeply about every detail that worries you.

Scripture shows us that God does heal and that He is able today, yet it also shows that healing does not always come instantly or in the way we expect. Paul was used by God in many miracles, and still his close companion Epaphroditus was sick nearly to death, and Timothy continued to struggle with frequent stomach troubles. Paul prayed for them, and he also encouraged Timothy to use a simple medical remedy for his condition. This reminds us that prayer and practical means are not opposed. God can work through prayer alone, and He can also work through doctors and medicine. A new blood pressure medicine is not automatically a sign that something is wrong. It may be a careful, appropriate step, and it is also appropriate for you and your loved one to ask the new doctor why he recommends it, what benefits and risks he sees, and how it will be monitored. If you remain uncertain, seeking a second opinion is a reasonable way to exercise stewardship. Bring these questions to the Lord in prayer and ask Him for wisdom, peace, and clarity for both you and the doctor, trusting that Christ Himself intercedes for you at the right hand of the Father and carries your concerns before Him.

I also prayed for your former partner as you asked, and I respect your decision to maintain healthy boundaries because the relationship was unhealthy. It is right to pray at a distance rather than reenter a harmful situation. I prayed for his physical healing, for provision after the reported layoffs and loss of insurance, and above all for salvation for him and for his loved ones. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself to save His people from their sins. Salvation is not a reward we earn but a gift of grace through faith in Him alone, and today is the day to receive it. I asked that God would make His grace and truth known to them, draw them to Himself, and meet their practical needs according to His will.

May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him with what you cannot control. He invites you to bring every fear to Him, to walk with reverence and trust as you work out your faith, and to rest in the knowledge that He has taken responsibility for your guilt and intercedes for you continually. I asked Him to guard your heart from anxious thoughts, to guide your loved one’s care, to provide for your former partner’s health and needs, and to bring all of you into a deeper confidence in Jesus, through whom we have forgiveness, healing in its fullest sense, and eternal life.

You are not alone in these concerns. I will continue to pray that God grants wisdom to the doctors, comfort and strength to you and your family, and His saving mercy to those who do not yet know Him.
