My mother is severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed and several people including myself have noticed that there seems to be a demonic element to her negative behavior. She is a professing Christian but believes in some very wrong things. Please pray about this. The enemy often uses her negatively in the lives of people around her. I am concerned her situation may also be the case for others in my life as well. Please pray. Please also pray for me to be set free from sexual addiction. There are reasons why I'm struggling with this. Thank you.

We have heard your heart and we are lifting you and your mother before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, seeking the Father's will and His deliverance.
We take seriously what you have shared about your mother. We know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. When a professing believer holds to very wrong beliefs and her behavior is consistently destructive and oppressive to those around her, we understand this can open a door to the enemy. We are told not to give place to the devil Ephesians 4:27 and that false teaching can lead to captivity. We pray that God will grant her repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and that she may recover herself out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will 2 Timothy 2:25-26. We also remember to honor our father and mother Ephesians 6:2, which does not mean we affirm sin or deception, but that we love, pray, speak truth with grace, and set healthy biblical boundaries while trusting God to work.
We also hear your honest confession about sexual addiction and we thank you for bringing this into the light. We want to lovingly but clearly say that any sexual activity outside of marriage between one man and one woman is fornication, and Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. There are reasons and wounds that may have contributed to this struggle, and God cares about those wounds and wants to heal them, yet those reasons do not make the sin less serious. God provides the way to freedom through repentance, the power of the Holy Spirit, and renewing the mind. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We must walk by the Spirit, and we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16, and we are promised that sin will not have dominion over us, for we are not under law but under grace Romans 6:14. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4.
We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven, made new, and given power over sin and the enemy. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one and his mother to You. Lord, You see the emotional and behavioral disturbance and the heaviness that seems to have a demonic element. We ask in Jesus' name that You would rebuke every influence of the enemy in her life, that You would break every deception and stronghold of wrong belief, and that You would shine Your light of truth into her heart. Grant her repentance and deliverance, draw her into sound doctrine and a true walk with Christ, and let her mind be renewed by Your Word. Protect those around her from harm and give this child of Yours wisdom, discernment, love, and firm boundaries, that he may honor his mother while not partnering with darkness. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.
Father, we also bring this struggle with sexual addiction before You. We confess it as sin and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Break these chains, Lord, for if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. Create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. Teach our brother to flee from temptation, to make no provision for the flesh, to walk in the Spirit, and to pursue purity. Lead him to godly community, accountability, and counsel where he can walk in the light and be strengthened. Guard his eyes and his mind, and let him present his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. Where there are deep wounds or past influences that have fed this addiction, bring Your healing and restore what the enemy has tried to steal.
We pray for protection over others in his life who may also be under spiritual oppression, that You would expose every work of darkness and bring freedom and truth. We ask all of this according to Your will, in the name above every name, Jesus Christ our Lord, believing You hear us and You are faithful to deliver. Amen.
We encourage you to remain daily in the Word, to put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11, to pray without ceasing, and to stay in fellowship with mature believers who can support you in both of these battles. God is able to set you free and to bring redemption and peace even in very difficult family situations as you continue to submit to Him and resist the enemy in Jesus' name.

Concerning your mother, it is a grievous thing to see one who professes the name of Christ yet walks in confusion and in ways that wound those around her. Scripture teaches us that there is indeed a power of darkness, and that bondage under sin, bondage under the flesh, bondage to the world and bondage to the fear of man is the work of sin and of the devil. Yet we are also taught that our afflictions do not spring out of the dust, but the Lord Himself sits as a Refiner at the door of the furnace, and even that which comes through the malice of men or the assaults of the enemy may bear the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. We do not lightly speak of demonic influence, but we know this, that our deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as our deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. Our prayer for her is that the Lord, who is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for I have found a ransom, would make that ransom, which is Christ Jesus alone, to be known to her in power. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. We pray that where there is wrong belief it may be corrected by the truth of the Word, that where there is bondage there may be true liberty, for if the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed, and that the enemy shall no longer be able to use her as an instrument of harm to others, but that she may be brought into the light and walk as a child of light.
Concerning yourself and the bondage of sexual addiction of which you speak with honesty, be assured that the Lord Jesus is able to save to the uttermost. He has taught many of His people the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and He has delivered them from the fascinating power of sin. This deliverance is not wrought by our own power. We can never escape from the bondage of sin by our own strength. The bars of that dungeon we can never break. But God has not only invented a way of deliverance, He has found a ransom, and that ransom is His own Son. It is a gift of Divine Love. If He who held us in bondage has found a ransom, we may be certain of liberty. Yet we must not think to be delivered and still continue in that which enslaved us. You would fancy from the actions of some professors that they were not delivered from the power of darkness at all, but were only helped to keep away from some conspicuous sin. True deliverance brings a hatred of the sin itself and a fleeing from it. The Lord has ordained that sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside of that holy ordinance every form of sexual sin brings bondage and death. There are reasons, as you say, why you struggle, and the Lord knows them all, but the way of escape is not to excuse the sin but to confess it, to turn from it, and to look to Christ for both pardon and power. We pray that you may outgrow this spirit of bondage and never receive it again, that you may know what it is to be kept from perishing by the sword and to have your soul kept back from the Pit.
