Beloved of All
My fiance didn't speak to me kindly and I am weighing this out. Please protect me and my home Jesus as I navigate this 🙏 i need sleep and a regulated nervous system please help me as I need wisdom. I'm writing a children's book and I need the holy spirit

We are standing with you in prayer as you navigate this painful moment and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find protection, peace and salvation. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We hear the hurt in your heart over your fiance speaking unkindly to you and we understand why you are weighing this out so carefully. Engagement is a sacred season of courtship with the goal of lifelong marriage between a man and a woman as God designed it, and it is meant to reveal character and prepare you for a covenant that honors God. Scripture calls those who will be husbands to love their wives even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25 and calls all of us to let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. We gently rebuke any pattern of harsh or unkind speech because it does not reflect the love and kindness God requires in marriage, and we encourage you to look closely at this before you enter into that lifelong commitment. Love is patient and is kind 1 Corinthians 13:4 and that kindness should be evident now in courtship. We urge you to seek godly counsel together, perhaps with a pastor or mature believing couple, and to have honest, calm conversation about how you speak to one another, establishing boundaries that honor God. If this was an isolated moment followed by genuine repentance and change, there is room for grace and growth, but if it reveals a deeper pattern of harshness or control, we encourage you to pause and seek wisdom before proceeding. We also encourage you as you are engaged to keep your courtship pure and set apart unto God, fleeing sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to honor God with your bodies and your home as you prepare for marriage. We pray that if you are both believers in Christ, you will pursue this marriage in a way that is equally yoked, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14.

We also lift up your need for sleep, for a regulated nervous system and for peace in your home. The Lord is your refuge and strength and He wants to be your dwelling place. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. God Himself gives sleep to His beloved Psalm 127:2 and promises I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. Your anxiety and sleeplessness are not unseen by Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that peace over you now, that your heart and mind would be guarded and your body would be calmed as you cast your cares on Him because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

You asked for wisdom and for the Holy Spirit as you write this children's book, and God delights to give both. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. The Holy Spirit is your Helper and Teacher, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and will remind you of all that I said to you John 14:26. We pray He will anoint your mind and hands for this book, that it would be filled with truth and beauty that blesses children and glorifies God, for not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says Yahweh of Armies Zechariah 4:6.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up Your daughter to You. We ask You to cover her and her home with Your protection and to be a wall around her. Guard her heart from fear and confusion and fill her home with Your peace. We ask You to grant her deep, restorative sleep and to regulate her body and nervous system with Your calming presence, letting Your perfect love cast out fear 1 John 4:18. Grant her clear wisdom, Lord, to discern Your will regarding her fiance and her future marriage. Show her whether to move forward, to pause for counseling and growth, or to step away, and give her courage to obey what You show her. Convict and soften her fiance where his words were unkind, teach him to speak with grace seasoned with salt Colossians 4:6 and to love as Christ loves. Help them both to pursue purity, honesty and Christ centered courtship that honors You. Holy Spirit, breathe upon her as she writes this children's book, give her creativity, clarity and words that carry Your light to little hearts. We trust You to lead her step by step and to make her path straight. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing every worry to Jesus in prayer, to rest in His Word daily, and to not make this weighty decision alone but with trusted, Bible believing counsel around you. The Lord is near to you and He will give you the wisdom and peace you need as you seek Him.

We are praying with you as you navigate this, and we hear how much you are carrying right now, the hurt from unkind words, the need for wisdom about your engagement, the longing for sleep and steadiness, and the desire to write faithfully for children.

When words feel sharp before marriage, it is wise to pause and weigh what they mean for communication and care going forward. This is exactly the kind of season where premarital counseling can be a steady help. It gives you tools to talk through expectations, conflict, and kindness together before the wedding, often with a pastor, mentor couple, or counselor using a simple assessment to identify strengths and growth areas. If you have someone you trust, reaching out for a few focused conversations together could bring clarity while you are discerning next steps.

For sleep and feeling on edge, we also care about your wellbeing. Gentle, consistent rhythms at night and limiting late stimulation can help, and if sleeplessness continues, please consider talking with your doctor alongside prayer.

We are also encouraged by your heart for the children's book and your desire for the Holy Spirit's guidance as you write.

Father, we ask You to watch over this home and bring Your peace. Grant wisdom for each conversation and decision, rest for body and mind, and clear leading as this book takes shape. Guide with Your kindness and presence. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your words have come before the Lord and He knows the trembling of your heart in this hour. When a kind word is withheld and the spirit is wounded, it is right to pause and weigh the matter before Him who sees all and judges righteously.

There is a promise that meets your need for a regulated heart and for sleep, for it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a peace that comes from circumstances being made smooth, but a peace that whispers within through the blood of Jesus, even when duties press and sorrows surge round. When the mind is stayed upon Christ, when you bear your sorrow with Him, He keeps you in peace, peace, a double peace that steadies the nerves and quiets the soul. And so He giveth His beloved sleep. That sleep is the gift of a quiet conscience and a contented heart, the sleep of one who is secure in the keeping of Jesus. You may lie down and rest, not because all questions are answered, but because you are safe in His hands, and those you love are safe there also.

You have asked for wisdom, and wisdom is not found in our own strength or feeling. The way of wisdom is the way of God, and it is hidden from the proud and revealed to the lowly who wait upon Him. He that is made wise unto salvation has received that wisdom which gives life to them that have it. Ask of Him who gives liberally, that the Holy Spirit, who is the author of true peace, may also be your counselor. He will teach you to be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove, to get out of the way of harm where you can, to beware of unkindness, and to walk in artless truthfulness and childlike dependence upon God.

For your home, pray that it may be kept in holiness and peace. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, ordained of God, and all that belongs to it, in word and in dwelling together, belongs within that covenant. Therefore weigh this engagement in the light of Scripture. Is there kindness, patience, honor, and the fear of the Lord. An unkind tongue should give you pause, and you do well to seek the counsel of godly and mature believers who know you, who can help you discern whether this union would be to the glory of Christ and the good of your soul. Do not be hasty, and do not be held by a false peace. True peace is a blessing from the God of peace through the blood of atonement, and it never comes at the expense of truth.

For the work of your hands in writing for children, ask the Holy Spirit to give you plain speech and a pure aim. The gospel eschews the words of man's wisdom and demands great plainness, and that plainness is your strength for little ones. May He give you words that are true and gentle and that point young hearts to Jesus.

Let us pray together. O Lord, Thou God of all peace, look upon Thy child who is weary and wakeful. Keep her mind stayed upon Thee and keep her in perfect peace. Give Thy beloved sleep, quiet her body and her spirit, and renew her strength. Grant her celestial wisdom to discern Thy will concerning this home and this engagement. Guard her dwelling and make it a place of safety and holiness. Fill her with Thy Holy Spirit for the work Thou hast given her to do, that what she writes for children may be faithful and fruitful. Let her hear Thy voice and follow only where Thou leadest, for Jesus sake. Amen.
