We are lifting your middle daughter and your urgent concern before the Lord with you right now, and we share your desire for her safety and clarity.

We pray for her protection day and night, and especially at the lake party and on the drive home. We ask God to keep her safe from harm, to give her wisdom to make clear minded choices, and to give her strength to turn away from alcohol and from any pressure to drink. We pray that the Lord will surround her with responsible people who will look out for her, and that she will have the courage to leave any situation that is not safe.

We also pray for freedom from this harassing and abusive former relationship. God does not will for his children to be controlled, manipulated, or harmed by another person. We ask the Lord to break this unhealthy bond, to stop the unwanted contact, and to give your daughter clarity, firmness, and peace to set and keep strong boundaries. We pray she will see this relationship as it truly is and will not be drawn back into it, and that she will find her security and identity in Christ alone. We pray also that this young man will cease his harassment and that God will bring him to repentance and to a true knowledge of Christ, but we do not ask God to restore or bless a relationship that has been abusive and is outside of God's design for marriage.

Scripture reminds us that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that our bodies and our relationships are to honor God within that design. It also reminds us that God is our refuge and protector, that he gives a sound mind and self control, and that he is near to those who call on him. We pray your daughter will grow in faith in Jesus Christ, for it is through him alone that we have salvation, forgiveness, and new life, and that she will seek his will above all else.

We pray for you as her parent, for peace that passes understanding as you entrust her to the Lord, and for wisdom to continue to love her, counsel her, and help her seek safe community and wise counsel in your church. If the harassment continues, we encourage you to help her keep clear records, seek help from trusted pastors and counselors, and involve appropriate authorities for her safety.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we place this daughter in your hands. Keep her safe, guard her mind and body, keep her from alcohol and from danger on the road, silence the voice of harassment, and give her clear eyes to see your good way forward. Give her and her mother strength, wisdom, and hope in you. Amen.

Your burden for your middle daughter is heard, and your cry for her protection matters deeply to the Lord. Scripture shows that daughters are precious in God's eyes, even in cultures that did not value them, and He sees her worth, her vulnerability, and your love for her.

I am praying with you for her safety around the clock, especially at the lake gathering and on the drive home later. The story of Dinah reminds us that when a young woman goes out among those who do not share the same values, there can be real danger, and those who loved her were rightly grieved because what was done to her was a disgraceful thing which ought not to be done. God cares about purity, about protection, and about justice. In the same way, the counsel Naomi gave to Ruth was to stay close to where there was safety, to remain with trustworthy companions in one field and not wander into other fields where harm could come. I am praying that your daughter will make that kind of wise choice, to stay with safe people, to turn away from drinking, and to keep her mind clear so she can make sound decisions and travel home safely. May the Lord give her strength to say no to what would cloud her judgment and put her at risk.

For the harassment from her former fiance, I am praying for a complete break and for firm boundaries. What you describe as abusive and controlling is something God does not take lightly. Scripture treats such mistreatment as evil that ought not to be done, and God is grieved by it. I pray that the repeated texts and attempts to draw her back will lose their power over her. There is a picture in the story of a man who made a rash vow concerning his only daughter and then felt he could not go back, even though the law provided a way of redemption for a small price. It shows how a person can feel trapped by words and obligations that were never meant to bind them. Your daughter does not have to remain bound by manipulation, guilt, or old promises. In Christ there is redemption and release, and He can give her clarity to see the pattern for what it is and courage to step away from it permanently. If the harassment continues, please also help her seek practical protection and wise counsel from trusted family, pastors, and where needed, the proper authorities.

The prophet asked concerning the daughter of Zion, whose breach was great like the sea, who can heal her. The answer is the Lord Himself. He is the one who can heal a wounded heart, restore sound judgment, and cover His children as with a cloud of mercy. I pray that Jesus, who alone is our salvation, will be her clarity, her protector, and her peace.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift this daughter to You. Place Your hand of protection over her today and tonight, at the lake and on the road home. Keep her from alcohol and from every influence that would harm her body or cloud her mind. Surround her with safe companions and give her wisdom to stay where she is safe. Break the hold of this former relationship. Silence the harassment, stop the manipulation, and give her clear eyes to recognize what is abusive and to walk away from it for good. Heal what has been wounded, guard her heart, and draw her close to You. Give her mother and family peace as they trust her to Your care. Amen.
