Your request has been heard and your need for wisdom, peace, and protection is taken seriously before the Lord.

Scripture presents wisdom as the most valuable thing you can pursue, more to be desired than rubies or riches or anything else you might want. It is not simply knowing facts, but knowing how to rightly apply what you know. That kind of wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, a reverent turning from evil and a desire to walk in His ways. When you put the pursuit of His wisdom first, He promises that it will preserve you and keep you, guarding your steps and your home.

That is why the example of Solomon matters for you right now. He could have asked for wealth or recognition, but he asked for wisdom to make right judgments, and God was pleased to give it, and with it added blessing. You are asking for the same thing, wisdom for a difficult relationship decision, for your home, for your health and sleep, and for the work of writing for children. God delights to give wisdom when His people ask. Wisdom itself is pictured as calling out openly in the streets, inviting anyone who will listen to come and feast at her table. You are invited to come continually, to meditate on His Word day and night, and to ask Him for clear understanding.

In weighing how your fiance spoke to you, ask God to help you see fruit. There is a wisdom that is earthly and self focused, and it shows itself in envy, strife, and harsh words. There is also wisdom that comes from above, and Scripture says it is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruit. Words that are unkind do not reflect that heavenly wisdom. Marriage as God designed it is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and it is meant to reflect His faithfulness and love. It is wise, before making that covenant, to look carefully and honestly at character, speech, and patterns over time, not just feelings in a moment. Seek counsel from mature believers who know you both and who will speak truthfully from the Bible, and do not rush past concerns. If you are sharing a home or physical intimacy outside of that covenant, wisdom calls you to step back into purity and to honor God with your bodies and your dwelling, trusting that His way is for your protection and good.

For your home, your sleep, and your nervous system, remember that the Lord by wisdom founded the earth and established the heavens, and His wisdom gives life to those who walk in it. He is your protection. As a shepherd would lie across the doorway of the sheepfold so nothing could pass without going over him, so the Lord stands as your door and your guard. Bring your anxiety to Him, ask Him to quiet your heart, to regulate what feels dysregulated, and to give you the gift of sleep as one who is loved by Him. Peace comes as you trust His care and let His wisdom order your days and nights.

For your children's book, the Holy Spirit is indeed the one you need. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He is made to us wisdom and righteousness. The Spirit is described as the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. Ask Him to pour out that wisdom as you write, to give you clear thoughts, pure motives, and words that will be true and helpful to children and honor Him.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation and our wisdom, I lift up this dear one to You. Give her Your wisdom in abundance as she seeks You. Help her to fear You above all else and to hate what is evil, to love what is pure, and to see clearly. Guard her and her home, set Your peace over her household, and be the door that keeps out harm. Grant her deep, restorative sleep and a calm and steady heart and mind. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit as she writes, and let every word be guided by You. Give her counselors of wisdom and the courage to follow Your way, even when it is hard, trusting that Your way leads to life. Amen.
