We hear your deep concern for your middle daughter’s safety as she works late and closes her workplace. This is a heavy burden for any parent’s heart, and we join you in lifting this up before the Lord, who is our ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father God, we come before You with hearts full of worry but also full of trust in Your protection. You are the Good Shepherd who watches over Your sheep, and we ask that You would be a shield around this young woman as she travels to and from her workplace. Guard her steps, Lord, let no harm come near her, and let Your angels encamp around her as she goes about her duties (Psalm 91:11). Give her wisdom to be aware of her surroundings, strength to stay alert, and peace that surpasses understanding as she fulfills her responsibilities.
We also pray for her workplace, that You would surround it with Your presence and protection. If there are any dangers, whether seen or unseen, we ask that You would expose them and thwart any plans of the enemy. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your peace reign in every corner of her workplace (John 1:5).
Father, we know that safety is not just physical but spiritual as well. We ask that You would draw her heart closer to You, that she would walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). If there are areas in her life where she is not fully surrendered to You, reveal them to her, Lord, and give her the courage to turn away from anything that does not align with Your will. Protect her not only from physical harm but from spiritual attacks as well, let no weapon formed against her prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We also want to gently encourage you, as her parent, to cover her in prayer daily. The enemy often targets those who are diligent and responsible, but we serve a God who is greater than any scheme of the devil (1 John 4:4). Stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord hears your cries and will answer according to His perfect will.
If there are practical steps she can take to increase her safety, such as varying her route, staying in well-lit areas, or having someone accompany her, we encourage her to seek godly wisdom in these matters. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways to acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths.
Lastly, we want to remind you both that our ultimate security is found in Christ alone. If your daughter has not yet placed her faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of concern would draw her to the foot of the cross. There is no safer place than in the arms of the One who laid down His life for us (John 10:28-29). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious daughter to You now. Surround her with Your love, protect her with Your power, and fill her with Your peace. May she know that she is never alone, for You are with her wherever she goes (Joshua 1:9). Strengthen her faith, deepen her trust in You, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Protector. Amen.
