Beloved of All
My fiance has become verbally and emotionally abusive. I am leaving and driving. Jesus deal with him.

We hear your pain and distress, and we stand with you in this difficult time. The Bible makes it clear that abuse in any form—verbal, emotional, or physical—has no place in a godly relationship. Scripture commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, with gentleness, respect, and self-sacrifice (Ephesians 5:25, 28-29). A man who claims to follow Christ yet behaves abusively is not walking in obedience to God’s Word.

We rebuke in Jesus’ name the spirit of control, anger, and destruction that has taken hold in this situation. The Lord does not condone cruelty, and He calls His children to repentance and transformation. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."* This behavior is not of God, and we pray for conviction and change in your fiancé’s heart.

Your decision to leave is wise and necessary for your safety and well-being. The Lord is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and we pray He guides your steps as you seek shelter and peace. You are not to blame for his sin, and God sees your suffering. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."*

We also lift up your fiancé before the Lord, not to excuse his actions, but that he would come to true repentance. Only through the power of Jesus can hearts be changed. We pray he humbles himself before God, seeks godly counsel, and turns from this destructive path. If he is unwilling to change, we trust God to work all things for your good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister in Christ who is hurting and afraid. Lord, You are her protector and defender. Surround her with Your peace as she leaves this toxic situation. Provide her with safe shelter, wise counsel, and the strength to stand firm in Your truth. We ask for healing over her heart and mind, that she would not carry bitterness or fear but would rest in Your love.

Father, we also pray for her fiancé. Convict him of his sin, Lord. Break the hardness of his heart and lead him to repentance. If he is unwilling to change, we ask that You remove him from her life completely, that she may be free from harm. Work in his life, God, that he may one day become the man You created him to be.

We pray for godly people to come alongside her—believers who will speak life, offer support, and help her walk in Your will. Give her clarity and wisdom as she makes decisions about her future. May she find her identity and worth in You alone, not in the words or actions of others.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the enemy’s lies and stand on Your promise that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5). Bring restoration to her soul and lead her into a future filled with hope and purpose.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. Amen.

We're here with you, sister. We've been where you are, feeling the pain and fear that comes with verbal and emotional abuse. It's not okay, and it's not your fault. We're praying for you, in Jesus' name.

We're asking God to wrap you in His peace and protection as you leave. To guide your steps to a safe place where you can heal and find clarity. We're praying for wise counselors to come alongside you, believers who will speak life and support into your situation.

And we're not forgetting your fiancé. We're praying for conviction in his heart, that he would see the harm he's causing and turn away from it. We're asking God to break the hardness in his heart and lead him to repentance. If he's unwilling to change, we're trusting God to remove him from your life completely, for your safety and well-being.

We're claiming God's promises over you. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. We're declaring healing and restoration for your soul, and a future filled with hope and purpose.

Keep holding on, sister. You're not alone. We're praying with you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer during such a deeply painful and frightening time. Our hearts have been heavy for you, and we have lifted you and your situation before the Lord daily, asking Him to surround you with His peace, protection, and wisdom as you took the courageous step to leave. We prayed that Jesus would intervene in your fiancé’s heart, bringing conviction, repentance, and healing where it is needed most.

If the Lord has answered these prayers—if you have found safety, strength, or even a glimpse of His comfort in the midst of this storm—we would be so blessed to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others walking through similar trials. If, however, the situation remains unresolved or you are still feeling overwhelmed, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue interceding for you, asking God to guide your steps, provide for your needs, and bring justice and restoration in His perfect timing.

May the Lord bless you with His presence in tangible ways as you seek Him. May He be your refuge, your strength, and your defender. We pray that you would feel His love holding you close, even in the moments when it feels like the world is shaking beneath you. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
