We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith, lifting up these earnest requests in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood alone that we are made righteous. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and so we approach God’s throne with boldness, knowing that He hears us when we call upon Jesus.
Father, we first lift up this dear one’s desire for a godly spouse. Lord, Your Word tells us that "he who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh" (Proverbs 18:22). We ask that You would prepare the heart of the one You have chosen for them—a man or woman of faith, integrity, and love for You. Guard their heart from impatience or compromise, Lord, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing. May they seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). We pray against any ungodly relationships or temptations that may arise, for Your Word warns us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to marry only in the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:39). Strengthen them to wait upon You, for You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun (Philippians 1:6).
As they step into this new job, Lord, we ask that You would grant them wisdom, diligence, and favor. May they work as unto You and not for men (Colossians 3:23), and may their efforts bring glory to Your name. Bless the work of their hands, and let them be a light in their workplace, reflecting Your love and truth. Provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and give them peace as they navigate this new season.
We also lift up their family, Lord, asking for Your provision and healing. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14), and Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). We ask that You would meet every financial need and restore health to those who are suffering. Strengthen their faith in You, Lord, and help them to trust in Your promises, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Finally, Lord, we pray for this burden of unforgiveness. Your Word commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and we know that harboring bitterness only poisons the soul. We rebuke the spirit of offense and ask that You would soften their heart to release every hurt into Your hands. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help them to walk in the freedom that comes from forgiving others as Christ has forgiven them.
We declare over this situation that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn every trial into a testimony for Your glory. May they grow in faith, hope, and love, and may Your will be done in every area of their life. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to answer these prayers according to Your perfect plan.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
