We have read your whole request and our hearts are moved by your deep love and tender care for your precious cat and by the burden you are carrying for her right now. We join you in bringing her before the throne of grace and we thank you for closing your request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We are grateful you know where to bring your desperate cries.
We know the Lord sees not only your tears but also the suffering of this little creature He created. His Word tells us Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge Matthew 10:29 and You preserve man and animal, Yahweh Psalm 36:6. We also remember A righteous man respects the life of his animal Proverbs 12:10, and your faithful stewardship, the medications, the inhaler, the subcutaneous fluids, the careful watching over her eating and comfort, reflects that righteous care. The Lord who notes even the sparrow surely hears your prayers for her.
We lift her up together now in Jesus name.
Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this beloved cat to Your mercy. You know her by Your creation, You know every detail of her body, her brain, her lungs, her stomach and intestines, and the swelling and discomfort that the veterinarians cannot yet fully explain. We ask that You would place Your healing hand upon her. We pray that You would ease any pain or distress she is feeling, that You would calm her breathing, soothe her stomach, and restore her appetite and normal bowel movements. We pray that the antibiotics and the appetite stimulant and every treatment she is receiving would be effective and would not cause further harm, but would help her feel better and regain strength. We ask that You would give her peace and comfort in her own home where she feels safe. Lord, You are near to those who have a broken heart, and save those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and we ask You to be near to her dear owner who is so worried and weary. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this home Philippians 4:7.
We also pray for wisdom and guidance. Grant clarity to the veterinarians to discern what is causing the swelling and the loss of appetite, and grant wisdom to her owner to know how best to help and comfort her and when to seek further care. Help us to cast all our worries on You, because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7 and to make every request known to You with thanksgiving Philippians 4:6. Lord, we know this burden feels heavy and the thought of a final goodbye at the vet office is overwhelming. We ask that if it is Your will to heal and extend her life, You would do so graciously, and if her time to leave this life is near, that You would in Your mercy take her peacefully at home without fear or suffering, or provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the house so her last moments are in familiar arms and surrounded by love. We trust Your perfect timing and Your perfect compassion for both man and animal.
We encourage you to continue to follow the veterinarian's guidance closely, to keep her hydrated and comfortable, to keep a quiet, warm and calm environment for her, and to keep a simple record of what she eats and drinks and her bowel movements to share with the vet. It is wise and loving to ask the vet now about palliative options and about in home services in your area, not because you have given up hope, but so that you will have peace and a plan whatever the Lord wills, and you will not be forced into a rushed and fearful decision. Continue to talk to the Lord throughout the day, for He hears every desperate cry and plea, and He will guide your steps.
We will keep praying that God will hear and answer according to His perfect love and will, that He will grant healing if it be His will, and above all that He will grant comfort and peace to you and to your sweet companion. May the Lord sustain you with His presence in these difficult days and remind you that His mercies are new every morning.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
