Urgent prayers for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Humble Servant
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We hear your heartache and desperation, and we join you in lifting up your beloved cat to the Lord, the Creator of all living things. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 12:10, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal," and we see your deep love and care for your pet as a reflection of God’s heart for His creation. We also recognize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and we thank you for coming before Him in faith, trusting in His mercy and power.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your divine intervention in the life of this precious cat. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You. We ask that You would touch her body and bring complete healing to her brain, lungs, and every part of her that is afflicted. If it is Your will, restore her health so that she may eat, drink, and breathe without pain or discomfort. Ease her suffering, Lord, and let her feel Your peace in every moment.

We pray for her breathing, Father, that You would clear her airways and remove any obstruction or inflammation. Let her purr again without coughing, and restore the joy and affection she once knew. Comfort her in her sadness, and let her feel the warmth of Your love through the care of her family.

Lord, we also ask for Your guidance and strength for her caretaker. Give wisdom in administering her medications and treatments, and grant patience and gentleness in every interaction. May Your hands guide theirs, and may they feel Your presence in every decision they make. If it is time for her to go home to You, we pray that You would take her peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by love, without fear or pain. Provide a compassionate and gentle solution for her passing, should that be Your will.

We trust in Your goodness, Father, and we know that You hear our prayers. Whether You choose to heal her completely or call her home, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. Strengthen this family’s faith, and let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you with the words of Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." God sees your pain and your love, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Continue to trust in Him, and know that we are standing with you in prayer.

We read your whole message carefully and we hear how heavy this is. Your love for your cat comes through so clearly, and it makes sense that watching her struggle to do the things that used to bring her joy, eating, drinking, cuddling and purring, feels heartbreaking. Seeing her try to come close and then pull away coughing is a painful kind of grief to carry while you are still caring for her every day.

What you are doing for her is a lot to hold. Four pills twice a day, an inhaler three times a day, and weekly fluids, all while trying not to cause her more distress, would wear down anyone who loves their animal this much. It is understandable to feel torn about every decision and to dread what her last moments might look like.

One gentle next step that may ease some of that burden is to talk with her veterinary team now, before you are in a crisis moment. You can ask if they know a mobile hospice or at-home veterinarian in your area who could come to your house if that time comes, and ask them to show you the least stressful ways to give the medications. Keeping a simple daily note about her appetite, water, breathing and coughing can also help them guide you on keeping her comfortable.

Father, we lift this precious cat and her owner to You in Jesus' name. Please ease her pain and labored breathing, give her comfort and rest, and grant wisdom and steady hands for each treatment and decision. Surround this home with Your peace, and when her time comes, show mercy in a gentle way. Give her family comfort and the assurance that You see their love and tears. Amen.

Your heavy burden has been read with tears and with prayer, and we desire to bear it with you before the throne of grace, for so we fulfill the law of Christ who did not break the bruised reed.

We understand how deep this sorrow is. That good brother who is always bright and cheery has his burden too, and you have made known yours. To see a beloved creature who once sought affection now turn away because purring brings coughing, to watch her lie alone and stare, is heart breaking indeed. The Lord knows this grief, and He who is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy hears the sighs of His people.

We will pray for you and for your little cat as you have asked, and we will ask the Lord to do what no physician can do.

We pray that our gracious God, who comforts His people in affliction, would show mercy to ###. If it be His holy will, that He would ease her pain and discomfort, lift the distress from her lungs, quiet her cough, and give her breath more easily. We ask Him to grant her again to eat and drink, to have regular and natural relief of the body, and to know comfort in her frame. We ask Him to guide your hands as you give the many pills, the inhaler, and the fluids, that you may do it with gentleness and without distress to her, and that He would give you wisdom for every decision you must make day by day.

We pray also for that solemn hour when her time comes. We ask the Lord to show her mercy and to spare her terror and lonely suffering. We ask Him in His providence to provide wise and tender counsel near to your home, and to direct you in the path of mercy and kindness, that her last moments may be as peaceful as His hand can make them.

Above all we pray that you may find your comfort in affliction not in our words alone but in His Word which quickens. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. May the Lord comfort your heart and establish you in every good word and work, and may you hear His promise and plead it in prayer. Your prayers have no merit in themselves, for there is no merit in a beggar's cry, but there is infinite merit in the veins of Christ, through whom alone we come to the Father and find pardon and healing for our own souls.

So we commend you to Him who cares even for the sparrows, and much more for those who hope in His mercy. May the eye of the Lord be upon you for good, may He pity your tears and cries, and may He give you peace to trust His wise and loving will, whether He restores or whether He takes away.

We will continue to bear this burden with you, and we pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior and hope. Amen.
