Urgent Prayer for ###'s surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Mom fell and fractured her right shoulder 2 days ago. Doctors have told she needs a surgery to put a plate in her shoulder. She also has diabetes for about ### years , but hasn't taken any proper treatment for that. Doctors have said she needs to be in ICU for insulin infusion and then she'll be taken to the operation theatre for surgery in about ### hour ### minutes. Please pray for God to be with her throughout the surgery and any other procedures that follow after. Please pray for God to be with the surgeons and other doctors, guide them throughout the surgery. Pray for her to be fully healed, be able to use her arm perfectly. We have also been informed about possible infections and other risks that may occur due to this surgical treatment, but I believe that nothing is impossible in the name of Jesus. This is nothing infront of the God who created the Heaven and Earth. Please pray for the blood of Jesus to fully heal her. Pray that she doesn't have any blood loss or requ, no other blood should be added to her body other than the Blood of Jesus which can heal anyone from anything. Please pray for anything and everything that's best for my Mom. Also pray for our spiritual life, financial ability to afford this surgery and other treatments. Thanks a lot for your kind prayers.

We join you in urgent prayer for your mother right now and we thank you for your strong faith that nothing is impossible with our God who created the heavens and the earth. We understand how frightening it is to see a mother fall and fracture her shoulder and then face a major surgery with a plate, especially when there is the added complexity of long standing diabetes that has not been properly treated. We are standing with you in this very hour as she is in the ICU for insulin infusion and preparing for the operating theatre.

We take comfort in what Scripture tells us about our God as healer and sustainer. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3 and we are told in Jeremiah 30:17 that the Lord declares I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds. We also cling to Isaiah 41:10 where we are told not to be afraid for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we remember that with God all things are possible in Matthew 19:26 and nothing is impossible with God in Luke 1:37. The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:15.

We want to gently address two things you mentioned out of love and biblical wisdom. First, we hear your heart when you pray that no other blood should be added to her body other than the blood of Jesus. We fully agree that the blood of Jesus is our only hope for spiritual salvation and eternal healing, for without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness and it is by His wounds we are healed. Yet the blood of Jesus is spiritual atonement, not a physical transfusion. God in His mercy has provided medical means including donated blood to preserve physical life when needed. We join you in praying that the Lord would so guide the surgeons that there would be minimal blood loss and no need for transfusion, but we also pray that if the doctors in their wisdom determine a transfusion is necessary to save her life, you would receive it as part of God's provision and not refuse it, trusting that the Lord works through these means. We pray for wisdom for you and for the medical team in all decisions.

Second, we encourage you with love regarding the untreated diabetes. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 and we are called to be good stewards of the health God has entrusted to us. The Lord can heal and forgive the past, but going forward we encourage you to help your mother commit to proper ongoing treatment and follow up for her diabetes, as this is part of honoring God and protecting the healing He will give through this surgery. We pray she will have a new desire to care for her body for His glory.

We also lift up your spiritual life and your financial needs. We know the burden of medical costs can be heavy, but our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:19. We trust Him not only for physical healing but for peace that passes understanding and for provision. We pray you will continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight in Proverbs 3:5-6.

We now pray together for your mother.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to You and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved in Acts 4:12. Lord, we lift this precious mother to You right now in the ICU. We ask You to be with her, to calm her heart, to regulate her blood sugar through the insulin infusion, and to prepare her body for surgery. Guide the hands and minds of every surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurse, grant them skill, steady hands, and clear judgment. We ask that You would allow the plate to be placed perfectly, that the bone would heal completely, and that she would regain full use of her right arm without pain or limitation. We ask in Jesus name that You would protect her from infection, from complications, from excessive bleeding, and from any adverse effects of anesthesia or diabetes. We pray that no further intervention beyond what is necessary would be required and that her recovery would be swift and complete. Provide for this family financially, Lord, open doors for the resources needed for surgery and aftercare, and strengthen their faith and spiritual walk through this trial. Let Your healing power be evident so that all glory goes to You, for You are the Lord who heals us in Exodus 15:26. We entrust her fully into Your loving hands, trusting Your perfect will, and we pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are praying with you right now as these next minutes unfold for your mom. It is a lot to carry at once - a painful fracture, a major surgery on short notice, diabetes that has not had steady care, and the worry about cost and risks. It makes sense that your heart feels so stretched.

We are asking God to be near to her in the ICU and the operating room, to steady her and to give the surgeons and nurses clear minds and steady hands in every decision they make. We are also praying for you and your family for peace and strength as you wait, and for wisdom for the doctors as they manage her blood sugar and her healing in the days ahead.

One thing that can help in such a fast moving situation is to have one family member stay as the main contact for the medical team, write down what they say about the insulin plan and the surgery, and ask who to talk with about both follow up care for her diabetes after she goes home and about financial options. The hospital often has a counselor who can explain payment plans and assistance, and alongside prayer, good ongoing medical care for her diabetes will be important for healing.

Father, we lift this dear mother to You right now. Please watch over her through this surgery and recovery, guide every person caring for her, limit complications and blood loss, and bring healing in the way only You can. Provide for this family financially and draw them closer to You through this hard time. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your earnest cry concerning your dear mother and we join you at the throne of grace on her behalf. What a mercy that we may come in the name of Jesus to the great Physician who has healing in His wings.

We pray that the Lord, the Sun of Righteousness, will be very present with her in the ICU and in the operating theatre. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician or a surgeon for healing, but how blessed to remember that above all earthly physicians there is One whose least touch brings virtue. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. May that healing virtue flow down to her now.

We ask the Lord to guide the hands and minds of the surgeons and all who attend her, that with skill and wisdom they may set the fractured shoulder and place the plate aright. We pray for mercy concerning her diabetes so long neglected, that the insulin infusion and all other means may be made effectual, and that the Lord who works by means would overrule every risk of infection, blood loss and complication. We ask for a good recovery and, if it be His gracious will, that she may again have the full use of her arm to His glory. Yet we bow to His perfect wisdom, knowing that His salvation will at last perfectly heal our bodies, and that whether He heals at once or by slow degrees, His way is best.

You have spoken of desiring no blood but the blood of Jesus. We understand your heart, that you look alone to the precious blood of Christ which was shed at Calvary. That blood is indeed our only hope for pardon and for healing of the soul, for healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction when the Lord comes to dwell with us. It is the blood that cleanses from all sin and makes the nature other than it was before. For the body, the Lord has also ordained means, and at times He is pleased to use the skill of surgeons and even the gift of blood to preserve life. We pray that the Lord would so keep her that blood loss would be minimal, and we commit to His wise providence whatever means the physicians in their care may judge needful, trusting that He who created heaven and earth can keep her in perfect safety.

We pray also for your spiritual life and for your household, that in this trial you may hear the teaching of Christ and find faith coming by hearing. May you be kept looking to Jesus alone for salvation, for there is abundant healing power in Him and no other. And we ask the Lord to provide for your financial need according to His riches, that you may not be burdened beyond measure but may see His hand supplying what is required for this surgery and for the care that follows.

May the Lord take her by the hand and lift her up, as He did of old, and may healing come before renewed service to Him. We commend her and you wholly to Him who is able to heal, to pardon and to keep. May His will be done, and may you have grace to trust Him fully in this hour.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our healing and our peace. Amen.
