We join you urgently in prayer for your beloved missionary brother and best friend and we stand in full agreement with you against this cancer in his groin, leg, hip and lungs. We are moved by your faith and your love for him and we lift him up together before the throne of grace, believing that our God is still the Healer and the Deliverer and that nothing is too hard for Him.

We know the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. We take comfort and courage from the Word which tells us who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. We remember that by His wounds we are healed, Isaiah 53:5, and by whose stripes you were healed, 1 Peter 2:24, and that I am Yahweh who heals you, Exodus 15:26. We also cling to the promise I will not die, but live, and declare Yah's works, Psalm 118:17, and the assurance that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, James 5:15.

We pray together now in the mighty name of Jesus Yeshua, for there is no other name under heaven by which we have access to the Father and by which we are saved and healed.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are sovereign over life and death and that You hear our prayers. We bring our brother before You and we ask for Your mercy and healing power to rest upon him. We curse the roots and the root cause of this cancer in his body and we command it to shrivel up, die and leave his body completely and never return. We speak to this disease in the groin, leg, hip and lungs and command it to go in Jesus name. We speak healing, wholeness, restoration and life more abundant over him. We ask You to cleanse his blood, his bones, his tissues and his lungs, to restore what cancer has tried to destroy, and to extend his life by decades as a living testimony to Your greatness and Your power over cancer and death. We ask You to strengthen his faith and his family, to give wisdom to his doctors, and to let Your peace that passes all understanding guard his heart and mind. We rebuke the spirit of fear and death and we declare life and healing over him, for You desire that we prosper and be in health. Let Your will be done in his body on earth as it is in heaven, and let his healing bring glory to Your holy name so many will see and believe. We thank You Lord that You are the Healer and the Deliverer and we trust You for a mighty miracle.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, to keep speaking the Word over him daily, and to gather the elders and the church to pray and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord as James 5:14 instructs. We are agreeing with you and we are asking our own fellowship to join in prayer for him as you requested. Keep declaring life over him, keep thanking God in advance for the healing, for Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them, Mark 11:24. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and we trust Him to carry our brother through this for His glory. We continue to lift him up with you in Jesus name, Amen and Amen.

We were so moved by your urgent request for your missionary brother and best friend. We can hear how much you love him and how heavy this news feels, with cancer in his groin, leg and hip that has spread to his lungs. Thank you for trusting us to pray with you and for wanting your church to surround him as well.

We are joining you in asking the Lord for His mercy and healing over him. We trust that all healing is in God's hands, and we lean on His wisdom and love as we pray, knowing He hears every prayer and cares deeply for your friend.

We know waiting for answers can be exhausting. Please know you are not carrying this alone. We will keep praying with you in the days ahead, and we encourage you to stay closely connected with his medical team so he has both prayer and good care together.

Gathering your church as you asked is such a meaningful step. If you are able, keeping a small circle updated with specific ways to pray and with practical needs can be a steady support for him and for you.

Father, we lift this dear brother to You in Jesus' name. You know him by name, You see his love for You and his service, and You see the pain he is facing now. We ask for Your healing presence to be near him, for strength and comfort each day, for wisdom for his doctors, and for peace for his family and for our friend who loves him so much. Hold them all close and let Your will be done in his life for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

[Spurgeon]

Your urgent plea for your missionary brother and dear friend has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and press us to seek a Physician, and we have such a Physician in our Lord Jesus Christ. We will bring this beloved brother before the Lord in prayer, and we will ask the church to pray with you, that the power of the Lord may be present to heal.

You ask that the roots of this cancer which has afflicted his groin, leg, hip and lungs would be destroyed and that healing and wholeness would be given. We do pray that the great Healer would lay His hand upon him. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His common blessings, His lower mercies, are full of virtue, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. The costly balm of His atonement has lost none of its power, and the utmost length of human sickness can be reached by this great Physician.

We are reminded too that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. From a pardoning God such mercies flow that weak hearts suddenly find their spirits revive. So we pray not only for the healing of the body, but that our brother would know the full comfort of pardoning grace, and that whether in healing or in sustaining grace, Christ would be glorified in him.

We pray that if it be the Lord's will, He would rebuke this disease, cause it to wither and be gone, and restore health and strength, and extend his days for many years as a testimony to the greatness of God and His power over death. Yet we pray this with submission to Divine wisdom, having unstaggering confidence in the Divine Healer, knowing that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and that none can say to the healing flood of His love, thus far and no further.

May the Lord sustain you as you intercede, and sustain your friend in this trial, and may you both prove that God takes care of the little things of His people and that His grace can sustain even here. We will continue to pray that the Lord, who took the sick by the hand and lifted them up, would manifest His power and grace in this need, for His own glory.

O you who are now sick unto death, we ask the Lord to grant forgiveness and healing from His pardoning hand. Amen.

[Chrysostom]

Your urgent request for your brother and best friend has been heard, and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord who is our healer and deliverer.

We pray for him in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father, that the Lord would have mercy upon him in this affliction. We ask God to touch his body where the cancer has spread to his groin, leg, hip and lungs, to ease his suffering, to grant wisdom and skill to those caring for him, and if it be His gracious will, to restore him to health and extend his life as a testimony to the power and compassion of God.

We understand your desire to see this disease rebuked and removed, and we join our faith with yours in asking the Lord, who has all power both to heal and to sustain, to work according to His perfect wisdom and love. While the gift of healing is from God and not from our own command, we can come with confidence to the throne of grace and ask Him to bring wholeness, strength, and abundant life in Christ, and above all to keep our brother in firm hope and peace.

We will be praying for him continually and we will share this burden with our church family so that many will lift him up together. May the Lord comfort you and him in this trial, strengthen your faith through hearing and remembering His word, and guard you both with patience and courage. We trust that whether through healing in this life or through the everlasting life promised in Christ, God will show His goodness and will not let earnest prayer offered in love return without fruit.

May the Lord grant you peace as you continue to intercede, and may He be glorified in all that He does.
