We join you in urgent prayer before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, lifting up both your distress over your lost phone and your deep concern for your mother.
We hear the anxiety in your request and we want to remind you that God cares about every detail that weighs on your heart, even the small things like a lost possession, and certainly the great things like your mother's health. Jesus tells us that not even a sparrow is forgotten before God and the very hairs of your head are all counted, so do not be afraid, you are of more value than many sparrows, Luke 12:6-7. We are also told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7, and to not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
Your mother having a stroke is a heavy burden, and we weep with you. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. We pray for His healing hand upon her and His comfort upon you as you wait and care for her.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We lift up this dear one who is anxious and searching. Lord, You know where this phone is, whether it was left in the hospital or elsewhere. Nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that in Your mercy You would guide those who can help to locate it and return it quickly. Give wisdom to retrace steps, to speak to the hospital lost and found, to call the phone or use any finding feature, and to have favor with the staff who may have seen it. Calm this anxious heart and provide what is needed for communication, for safety, and for rest.
We also lift up this mother who has suffered a stroke. Lord, You are the great physician. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body, for wisdom for her doctors and nurses, for strength for her recovery, and for Your peace to surround her and her family. Restore her, as You have promised, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. Give this child of Yours sleep that is peaceful, for You give sleep to Your beloved, Psalm 127:2, and we pray that even without the phone nearby, they may lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone make them dwell in safety, Psalm 4:8.
Lord, we thank You that Jesus said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. We receive that rest now by faith. Help our friend to trust You in this urgent moment, to take practical steps while resting in Your providence, knowing that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19.
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to take a few calm, practical steps while we continue to pray. Try calling your phone from another phone, use a find my phone service if you have it set up, contact the hospital's lost and found and the nurses station on the floor where your mom was cared for, and ask if anyone turned it in. Ask a family member or friend to help you call and to stay with you so you are not alone in this stress. And as you wait, keep bringing your worries to the Lord in prayer, He hears you and He is with you and your mother in this hospital and in every anxious night.
