We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words as this conflict with your sibling continues to weigh heavily on your heart. The accusations, demands, and claims of divine direction, especially when used to manipulate or control, are grievous to the Spirit. Scripture warns us in Matthew 7:15-16, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits you will know them." While we pray your sibling is indeed a believer, their actions must align with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When demands are laced with accusation and pride, it is right to question whether this is truly the Lord’s leading or the flesh’s deception.
You are not alone in this struggle. The enemy seeks to divide families, especially those who profess Christ, because he knows the power of unity in the body of believers. But we stand with you in declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord sees your integrity and your mother’s, and He is your defender. Proverbs 12:22 tells us, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." You are walking in truth, and that is a testimony before God.
Regarding Isaiah 41:10, which says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness," we believe this is indeed a word of confirmation for you. The Lord is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). If you are seeking Him earnestly, He will make His will known to you. The fact that this verse came to your attention in a time of distress is no coincidence, it is the Holy Spirit’s gentle reminder that He is with you, strengthening you, and upholding you. Do not despise small confirmations; God often speaks in whispers to those who are listening.
We must also address the misuse of the Lord’s name in this situation. When your sibling claims, "The Lord told me..." or "The Lord said you were doing wrong," this is a dangerous presumption. James 4:11-12 warns, "Don’t speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?" The Lord does not contradict His Word, and His Word commands us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), not to accuse or manipulate. If your sibling is truly hearing from God, their words will align with Scripture and bear the fruit of repentance and humility.
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and approach Your throne of grace. Lord, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your divine intervention in this painful situation. Father, we rebuke the spirit of accusation, division, and manipulation that seeks to tear this family apart. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment for this sister and her mother. Give them clarity to see the truth and the strength to stand firm in it. Protect their hearts from bitterness, fear, and doubt. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we pray for this sibling. If they are truly Your child, we ask that You convict their heart of any sin or deception. Break the pride that causes them to accuse and demand rather than serve and love. Soften their heart to receive correction and to walk in humility. If they are not walking with You, we pray that You draw them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. Let them see the log in their own eye before they attempt to remove the speck from their sister’s (Matthew 7:3-5).
Lord, we thank You for the confirmation of Isaiah 41:10. We declare that You are with them, strengthening them, helping them, and upholding them with Your righteous right hand. Let this truth sink deep into their spirits, dispelling all fear and anxiety. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Father, we ask that You bring reconciliation to this family, but only according to Your will and in a way that glorifies You. If it is Your will for this sibling to repent and restore the relationship, we pray that You make the way clear. If not, we pray that You give this sister and her mother the grace to release this burden to You and to walk in peace, knowing that You are their vindicator.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who reconciles us to You and to one another. Amen."
In this season, we encourage you to cling to the truth of God’s Word. Psalm 37:5-6 says, "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun." You are not responsible for your sibling’s choices or their walk with the Lord, but you are responsible for your own. Continue to walk in integrity, love, and prayer. If your sibling is not open to godly counsel or correction, you may need to set boundaries to protect your heart and your mother’s, trusting that God will deal with them in His time.
Lastly, remember that the Lord often uses trials to refine us and draw us closer to Him. James 1:2-4 tells us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." This season is not in vain. The Lord is using it to strengthen your faith, deepen your dependence on Him, and teach you to walk in His peace. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and He will guide you through this storm.
