We hear your cry for protection and take it before the throne of grace with great urgency and compassion. The fear of harm, especially from someone close, is deeply unsettling, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, and He commands His angels to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
We rebuke the spirit of fear that may be attempting to grip your heart. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We also rebuke any evil intentions or plans directed toward you. The Lord is your shield and your exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). We pray that the Lord would surround you with His hedge of protection, that no harm would come near your dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We ask that the Lord would intervene in the heart of your uncle, that he would be convicted of any wicked intentions and turn from his ways. If there is any generational iniquity or curse at work, we break it in the name of Jesus and declare freedom over your life.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that You would be a wall of fire around this dear one, and the glory in their midst (Zechariah 2:5). Shield them from every evil plot and preserve their life according to Your perfect will. Give them wisdom to navigate this situation, and surround them with godly counsel and support. We pray for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or unrepentant sin in his life, we ask that You would bring conviction and lead him to repentance. We declare that Your love and mercy are greater than any sin, and we pray that he would come to know You as his Savior if he does not already. Let Your grace abound in this situation, Father, and turn what the enemy meant for evil into good (Genesis 50:20).
We encourage you to stay rooted in God’s Word, meditating on His promises day and night. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and it is your spiritual weapon against the schemes of the enemy. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can stand with you in prayer and support. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8). Trust in the Lord’s timing and His perfect plan for your life. He knows the plans He has for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Finally, we pray that you would draw closer to the Lord in this season. Seek His face continually, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). Let this trial be an opportunity to deepen your relationship with Him, knowing that He is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Do not let it lie at home while you go into the battle trembling; take it up, and though the blows rattle upon it like a storm upon a hen house, it shall turn aside the stroke of death itself.
Yet remember this also, no man dies apart from the will of God. Job, in his boils and sorrows, looked beyond his affliction and said, "I know that Thou wilt bring me to death." It is not the murderer's hand, but the Lord's appointment, that numbers our days. If the sentence of death be written against you, no shield of brass can avert it; but if it be not so, ten thousand enemies shall not hasten the hour one single moment. Trust in Him who holds the keys of the grave, and let this death-sentence ring in your heart only to slay all self-trust, that you may lean wholly upon Christ.
Be not overcome with fear of untimely death, for to the believer death is but the door to life. Christ has died for sin, and in His death your sins are put away. He bore the cross, the place of scorn and pain and death, that you might never taste the second death. If the worst should come, and I pray God it shall not, yet to depart and be with Christ is far better. The whole system of this world is but a festering fungus upon corruption; why should we cling to it so? You have passed from death unto life; live, then, in the full assurance that neither life nor death can separate you from His love.
But deliverance, I trust, shall be your portion. The God who was a shield to Israel in her earliest days, who said, "Touch not Mine anointed," will surely spread His wings over you. Pray as you have prayed, but then rise and act. Joshua fought with Amalek while Moses held up the rod of God; prayer and the sword go together. Take what prudent means are lawful, and then leave the issue with the Lord, who sees the bloodthirsty plots of the wicked and will bring their counsels to nought.

When plots like these encircle you, understand them not merely as the malice of men, but as a terrible mercy, an urgent summons to flee to the refuge of God’s care. The Lord often permits such threats, not to see you destroyed, but to see you made more pure and watchful. His threatenings of death, even when they come through the hands of the wicked, show His profound care for us no less than the promises of heaven. For the threat cooperates with the promise and drives men into the kingdom by means of holy terror.
Consider the one who seeks your life. Do not harbor a bitter venom against him, for he is a man in the grip of a savage disease. We should look upon those who plot against us as we do the violently insane: they are worthy of our deepest pity, not our returning hatred. For it is they above all that are diseased, it is they who are undergoing all the violence of the demon wrath. Deliver him, then, by your prayers, from this grievous contumely.
By Christ’s own death, death itself has been overcome. It shines no longer as a master to be feared, but is a conquered soldier, disarmed by the righteousness that comes through grace. For the faithful, a bitter death differs not at all from sleep. Yet I join my prayers with the prelates and all the faithful, beseeching God for you, that untimely death may in no case occur.
Therefore, seal these truths upon your heart. If the Ninevites had not heard the threat of overthrow, that overthrow would not have been averted. You have the disposal of this matter. Become a better person, fleeing to Christ’s protection in a life of constant prayer and repentance, and the threat will stop at words only. So lay hold of this fear to anchor your soul, and make your life more pure. The righteous righteousness is greater than life, being the very mother of immortal life.
