Thank you for trusting us with this unspoken need for your family. God knows the details even when they are not spoken to us, and He invites you to bring every care to Him as a Father.
We are joining together with you in prayer and agreeing for your family before the Lord. Scripture teaches that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much, and it gives the example of Elijah to show how God hears and answers when His people pray in faith. Jesus also taught that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it shall be done by the Father. Your request is not overlooked because it is unspoken. God already knows what you need before you ask, and prayer is not made effective by length or many words. The prayers recorded in the Bible are often very short. What matters is a sincere heart that talks honestly with the Father.
True prayer begins with relationship. Through faith in Jesus Christ we can come to God as Father, and that relationship opens the way to pray with confidence. If that relationship is not yet settled, the first and most important prayer is, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Once we are His children, prayer is not a way to get our own wishes granted, but a way to consent to what God already desires to do and to see His will accomplished on earth as it is in heaven. So we do not try to give God detailed instructions as if He needs information. We simply open the door for Him to do what His loving heart already wants to do for you and your family.
Prayer takes different forms. It is worship as we acknowledge who God is and how great and good He is. It is petition as we bring our own needs to Him. And it is intercession as we bring the needs of others before Him. In this case we are interceding for you, lifting your family beyond ourselves and asking God to work in each heart and circumstance according to His perfect will.
We pray now to the Father in the name of Jesus. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this family as it is in heaven. You see what is unspoken and You know every need, every burden, and every person involved. We ask that You would provide what is needed, bring peace where there is anxiety, healing where there is hurt, wisdom where there is uncertainty, and unity where there is strain. Draw each one closer to Jesus and help this family to trust You more deeply. Give comfort by Your Spirit and the assurance that You are faithful and have brought Your people through many trials before. We trust You to do what is best and to bring joy as we see You answer according to Your goodness. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
