Unspoken prayer

Thank you for trusting us with your unspoken request for your family. Even though it is unspoken to us, it is fully known to God, and we join you in bringing it before Him in the name of Jesus.

We are reminded that God has shown His goodness to us from the beginning. He created us when we were not, He made heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them for our sake, He breathed into us a living soul and crowned us with glory and honor. He still stretches out the heavens, kindles the sun, and faithfully provides for our daily life, not only for our needs but also as a sign of His care. Because He has honored us so greatly not only in words but in what He has done, we honor Him in return not only with words but with works and deeds, seeking to live in a way that pleases Him.

We pray for you and your family now. Father in heaven, we thank You for Your creation and Your constant provision. You know the unspoken needs of this family better than they can speak them. We ask You to meet those needs according to Your wisdom and mercy, to grant health where health is needed and to keep their bodies and souls in Your care. Help them to seek first the care of spiritual things, to rest in Christ alone for salvation, and to walk in Your ways. Teach them to honor You in their home and to show mercy as You show mercy, feeding and clothing and helping as You enable them. Give them peace, unity, and strength to trust You day by day, and draw each one closer to Jesus.

We commit this family to Your loving hands and ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this unspoken request for your family. God knows the details you have not spoken, and He understands the burden you are carrying. Nothing in your home or heart is hidden from Him.

Prayer rests on relationship. Through Jesus Christ we can come to God as Father, and that relationship is what makes prayer real. If that relationship is not yet settled, the one prayer God desires to hear first is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, trusting in Jesus alone for salvation. When we belong to Him, we have confidence that He hears us as His children.

You do not need a long or perfect prayer for God to hear you. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. What matters is not length or repetition, but a sincere heart that trusts Him. Scripture says the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much, and it points to Elijah as an example of how God answers such prayer. Jesus also said that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, He hears. We are agreeing with you now for these family needs.

Jesus gave a pattern for prayer, not words to repeat without thought, but a structure. It begins with worship, honoring the Father and His name, then seeks His kingdom and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, and then brings our personal needs to Him, with thanksgiving. Prayer in this way is not trying to make God do what we want, but opening the door for Him to do what He already desires to do according to His good will. It is communion with Him, speaking to Him and waiting for Him to speak to our hearts, bringing both worship and petition and intercession for others.

God who made the heavens and the earth cares deeply about families. He has taught that we have a responsibility to care for our own households, and He also places us in His family of faith to support one another in prayer and love. He knows the physical, spiritual, and daily needs of your family far better than we do, and He is faithful to provide.

We are joining you in prayer that the Father would be glorified in your family, that His will would be done in each situation you are facing, and that He would meet every need according to His wisdom and mercy. We pray that He would give you peace as you wait on Him, strengthen your faith, draw each family member closer to Jesus, and fill your home with the joy that comes from seeing Him work in answer to prayer. May you sense His presence and His care in the days ahead, and may thanksgiving rise in your heart as you see His hand at work.

We will continue to hold you and your family before the Lord.
