Turns to God Acts 3:19, Washing and Renewal by The Holy Spirit, Tit 3:3-8 👁 Opened by of God's 2 Cor 4:4-6, Repents of being own god choosing good and evil for herself apart from God's Word, Gen 3:1-15 (It's not working well for her)... New Ezek 36:26 Experiences New Birth Jesus said is a necessity, Jn 3:3-7... Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Grant her wisdom and revelation to actually know You, Eph 1:17. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of The Holy one is understanding, Prov 9:10. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their evil ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

We ask for grace and discipline to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Tertullian, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, get saved herself, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. Forgive this one who has broken covenantal faith and vows with no remorse or repentance, for leading men into adultery and thus destruction, Prov 6:32, for neglecting pastoral counsel, texts and phone calls for months. If a king's heart is as channels of water in Your hand, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance, see Hos 3:1-5. As this one is unwilling to reconcile, wants divorce, says we are done and though I've reached out, prayed and fasted, is still as unwilling to return a text, much less return to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the wings of God Almighty or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... Thankfully she is in a country that is impossible to get a divorce. I know I have the adultery clause from Jesus which allows me to divorce and remarry, Matt 5:32, Matt 19:9, however only in The Lord, 1 Cor 7:39, see being equally yoked, 2 Cor 6:14-15, Old Testament precedent, Gen 24:3-4. And is she is unsaved, which everything indicates, there is the desertion by an unbelieving spouse clause, 1 Cor 7:15, where traditional, modern and ancient Jewish theology all allow for remarriage as if the unbelieving spouse (or adulteress) "were dead." However I am thinking and asking for repentance and salvation here, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and ask that THAT may yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. So I again ask for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36, Luke 22:42 -- Your will be done, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with fervent prayer and deep concern. The pain of a broken marriage, the hardness of heart, and the spiritual battle raging in this home are not lost on us. We stand in the gap, interceding for repentance, restoration, and the mighty hand of God to move in power.

First, we acknowledge the sovereignty of God over all things. The heart of this spouse, though hardened, is like channels of water in the Lord’s hands (Proverbs 21:1). We pray that You would turn her heart back to You, softening it from stone to flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desire that all come to repentance (Ezekiel 33:11). We cry out for her salvation, that she would turn from her own ways and submit to Your lordship. The deception of the enemy has blinded her eyes (2 Corinthians 4:4), but we ask that the light of the gospel would shine brightly, piercing the darkness and drawing her to Christ.

We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and hardness of heart that has taken root. The sin of adultery and the breaking of covenantal vows are grievous in Your sight (Proverbs 6:32), and we ask for conviction to fall upon her. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We pray she would see the destruction her choices have wrought and turn from them in genuine repentance.

For the one who has been wronged, we ask for wisdom and discernment. The pain of betrayal is deep, and the temptation to bitterness or retaliation is strong. But we are called to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). We pray for supernatural strength to love as Christ loves, even in this trial. Yet we also recognize the biblical allowance for divorce in cases of adultery (Matthew 19:9) and desertion by an unbeliever (1 Corinthians 7:15). We ask that You would guide this decision with clarity, that Your will would be done, and that any future marriage would be in the Lord, equally yoked with a believer (2 Corinthians 6:14).

We lift up the family members caught in this storm, especially the youth. May they not stumble because of this sin (Matthew 18:6), but instead see the power of God’s grace at work. We pray for the one compassionate family member mentioned, may they fear You all the day long (Proverbs 23:17), grow in their own faith, and be a bold witness for truth.

We join in fasting and prayer, as the early church did, believing that this spiritual discipline lends wings to our petitions (Mark 9:29). We ask for breakthrough, for chains to be broken, and for God’s glory to be displayed in this situation. Let this be a testimony of Your saving power, that even the hardest heart can be transformed by the gospel (1 Timothy 1:15-16).

We pray for protection over all involved, against further temptation, against the schemes of the enemy, and against the lies that seek to destroy. Sanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth (John 17:17). May they walk in the light as You are in the light (1 John 1:7), and may the love of Christ be publicly portrayed in their lives (Galatians 3:1).

Above all, we surrender this situation to Your will, praying as Christ did in Gethsemane: “Not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). We trust in Your goodness, Your justice, and Your mercy. May Your name be glorified, and may Your kingdom come in this home.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), we pray. Amen.

We are holding space with you in this, brother. What comes through so clearly is not just the wound of betrayal, but a stubborn, tender hope underneath it, that she would truly be saved, that God would do what only He can in a heart that has turned away. That kind of hope, held loosely before the Lord as you described from Gethsemane, is costly. It means sitting in the ache of “not yet” without knowing if the answer will be her restoration or simply His sufficient grace for you. We honor that.

The tangled knot of grief and covenant loyalty, of knowing what Jesus permits while still longing for what He prizes, is heavy. You are not weak for feeling the weight of it. The death of a marriage in reality, even if legal ties remain, is a real loss, and it's okay to grieve it honestly with the Lord. He does not flinch at tears that mix anger, longing, and bewilderment.

One steady step we'd gently offer: find a wise, older Christian who can sit with you in this long season. Not to keep rehearsing the offense or to give you quick answers, but to help you keep your own heart soft and clear before God. The pastoral counseling resources remind us that simply having someone to hold your story confidentially, to pray with you, and to ask you the honest questions about your own walk, can keep bitterness from taking root. That kind of steady companion is a gift.

Let's pray.

Lord Jesus, we come with him now, not pretending it doesn't hurt. You see the wife he loves, and You know the condition of her soul. We ask that whatever has hardened her heart would be broken by Your kindness, not crushed by force. Keep her from evil and trouble, and let true light break through. For this husband who waits, we ask not for false hope but for the deep peace of Your will. Sustain him when this feels impossible. In Your name, Jesus.

The cry of your heart rises before the throne like incense, each scripture-laden petition a sweet savor. Yet let me press upon you a weighty truth: the repentance for which you plead is not a mere turning from the wreckage of sin, like a man fleeing a burning house, but a turning unto a Person. You have piled up texts as stones, but the cornerstone is this, repentance and remission are preached in the name of Jesus. That holy name is the sun from which all true penitence draws its light.

Consider whether the sorrow you desire for her is the sorrow of the world that produces death, or godly sorrow that needs not to be repented of. A heart may be shattered by consequences, by the bitterness of being caught, by the loss of comfort, and yet be far from the Kingdom. The repentance that saves is not a fright before hell but a grieving that one has sinned against such love as that which bled on Calvary. It is when the prodigal, full of his filth, remembers the father's house and feels not merely hunger, but a homesickness for the father himself. True repentance gives glory to God; it justifies Him and condemns itself.

You speak of the adultery clause and the desertion by an unbeliever, and rightly you cling to the hope of a remarkable testimony. Do not let go of that hope, for Manasseh found grace in a Babylonian dungeon, and the thief turned at the last hour. But remember, the hand that wounds is the hand that heals. It is often affliction that opens the ear to the gospel. Pray on, fast on, but let your fasting be not a lever to force the arm of God, but a humbling of your own soul before Him. The sweetness of repentance grows best in the soil of patience.

Beware of the idea that your prayers hold a claim that overrides her will, for the Spirit draws with cords of love, not chains of iron. The goodness of God leads us to repentance, not the lash of the law alone, but the kindness, the forbearance, the long-suffering of the Father. Show her, if you can, a reflection of that goodness. As we are living epistles, known and read of all, let your life speak of the very grace you seek for her. This does not mean a weak indifference to her sin, but a Christlike love that yearns over her as Jesus wept over Jerusalem, even as they stoned His messengers.

Yet I must also ask: have you yourself learned the secret of sweet sister Repentance? She lives as long as faith lives. Daily brokenness over the remains of indwelling sin keeps the heart tender. Perhaps this furnace into which you have been cast is God’s strange method of deepening your own sense of sin and His mercy. The man who preaches repentance must himself practice it. Watch that a root of bitterness does not spring up in your own heart as you wait, for that would defile many. It is easy to become so fixed upon another’s sin that we forget how much we ourselves owe to grace.

And should the midnight hour of her soul’s darkness give way to the dawning of repentance, it will not be because you have found the right combination of texts, but because the Father saw her when she was yet a great way off, and ran. The eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of penitence. Your vigil is not meaningless, for God uses the prayers of His people as the scaffolding for His saving work. Therefore, go on asking loosely, as your Lord in Gethsemane, yet with the full assurance that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Christ, and He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. Hold fast to the promise: "A new heart also will I give you." That is a creation word, and it needs no helper.

Cast the whole tangled web upon Him who governs all things. The king’s heart is in His hand; how much more the heart of one fed on husks. He can make a way where no way appears, and turn the stone to flesh when it pleases Him. Above all, keep your own eyes on the cross. There, wrath and mercy meet; there, repentance borrows its tears and faith its confidence. When you cannot trace His hand, trust His heart.
