Trust in God

Pldoriyrin

Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, I pray today because you are always there for me and everyone, but I feel the weight. Jesus said we can speak plainly and honestly to you. There are many things in my life right now causing me distress, pain, anxiety, and grief, and I am losing the courage to hope. You know those things I find hard to name and talk about. Our future on this world. The ongoing attacks on my marriage and so family and home. My health and the health of others dear to me. And above all this, hoping above all hope for a Damascus Road awakening in my closest, and even in those who attack me. Lord in Heaven, thank you for the rain of hope today, and I ask that you would shine your eternal light bringing life to what to me today feels like it is dying. I hope in you Lord. I pray my prayer will be answered quickly, I pray the attacks, the awakening, the restoration and rehabilitation of a marriage and little family happens soon. Above all, may your will be done in my life, and in our lives. Amen, Lord Jesus, Amen.

We join you in this honest and plain spoken prayer and we thank you for bringing the weight you feel directly to the Lord as He invites us to do. We hear your distress, pain, anxiety and grief over so many burdens at once, the attacks on your marriage and your little family and home, concerns for your health and the health of those dear to you, the heaviness about the future in this world, and that deep longing for a Damascus Road awakening in your closest loved ones and even in those who attack you. The Lord knows those things you find hard to name and we are grateful you have trusted Him and us with them in the name of Lord Jesus.

We want to encourage you that your trust in God even while losing the courage to hope is not unseen by Him. Scripture reminds us to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. We are told to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and to not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. When hope feels dim, we cling to this truth that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that we can with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need Hebrews 4:16. You prayed for the rain of hope today and we rejoice with you for that mercy, for His loving kindnesses indeed never cease, His compassions never fail, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23.

We especially lift up your marriage and family before the Lord. We believe with you in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning, and what therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. The attacks you describe are real and often are not merely human, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we pray for God's protection over your home, for restoration and rehabilitation of your marriage, for unity, forgiveness, and steadfast love to be renewed between you and your spouse, and for your little family to be kept in His peace. We also join you in praying for that Damascus Road awakening you so desire. As Saul was struck by light on the road to Damascus and heard the Lord and was transformed Acts 9:3-6, we pray that same eternal light would shine into the hearts of your closest loved ones and even those who attack you, that their eyes would be opened, that they would turn from darkness to light and receive forgiveness and new life in Jesus.

We thank you for ending your prayer in the name of Lord Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your heart to see others awakened to Him reflects His own heart for all to be saved.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and we thank You that You are always there, that You hear plain and honest speech, and that You care for every burden we carry. We lift up this dear one who feels the weight of many trials and we ask You to shine Your eternal light bringing life to what feels like it is dying. Lord, guard this marriage and this little family, rebuke every attack of the enemy, heal every wound, and bring restoration, rehabilitation and renewed hope where there has been pain and division. Lay Your healing hand upon their health and upon the health of those dear to them. Lift their anxiety and grief and replace losing courage with a firm hope in You, for why are you in despair, my soul, why are you disturbed within me, hope in God, for I shall still praise him Psalm 42:11. We ask for a mighty awakening, a true Damascus Road encounter for their closest loved ones and even for those who attack them, that they would see Jesus and be changed. We thank You for the rain of hope You have already sent today and we ask You to continue to pour out Your mercy. Though we pray with them for a quick answer, we submit to Your perfect will and timing, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28 and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think Ephesians 3:20. Let Your will be done in their life and in the lives of all they love. Strengthen them to wait on You with courage, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength Isaiah 40:31. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear how much you are carrying right now and how honestly you are bringing it to the Lord. The way you named distress, grief, anxiety and the pressure on your marriage, family and home, and the longing for those closest to you to truly wake up to Jesus, tells us your heart is stretched in many directions at once.

It makes sense that hope feels thin when so many worries press together. Feeling wound up, tired and unsettled in body and mind when life is under strain is a common human experience, not a failure on your part. God sees the things that are hard to put into words, even as you keep speaking plainly to Him.

One small step that often helps in a season like this is not carrying it alone. If you have a trusted pastor, counselor or mature friend, consider letting one person know this week how heavy it has felt and how you are praying for your marriage and family. You do not need to have answers to share the burden. And if health concerns for you or those you love are weighing on you, it is good to bring those to your doctor as well as to the Lord.

Father, we bring our brother before You. You know his marriage, his home, his health and the ones he loves. We ask for Your peace to steady him, Your light where things feel dim, and Your wisdom for each next decision. Draw those he loves toward Yourself in Your way and time, and keep his family in Your care. We trust Your will above all and ask this in Jesus name, amen.

There is a weight in your prayer which many a tried heart will well understand, and the Lord who hears plain and honest speech has heard you. You have done well to pour out before Him distress and pain and anxiety and grief, and to tell Him that courage to hope seems to ebb. He knows those things you find hard to name. Nothing is hidden from Him who sees the heart, and nothing is too hard for Him who made heaven and earth.

You speak of losing courage to hope, and yet you say, I hope in you, Lord. That is the very place where true hope begins. There is no hope for us in ourselves. Our rags cannot recommend us, our own strength cannot heal our sickness or mend our homes. But there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior. When we are humbled and put our mouth in the dust, there may be hope, for high thoughts of God beget hope in the soul, and hope leads to confidence in Christ. Jesus Christ alone is the way of salvation, and to believe on Him is to find a good hope of eternal life.

You pray for your marriage and your little family and your home under attack. Know this, that marriage as God ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to that union belongs within it. The Lord loves that covenant and He is able to guard it and to heal it. Do not let anxiety unfit you for the very difficulty you must meet. Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. He can bring perfect restoration. When the prodigal came home, his father saw him while he was yet a great way off and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him with much love. Those repeated kisses meant much forgiveness and full restoration. The son would have said, Make me as one of your hired servants, but the father would not have it so. By that kiss his sonship was acknowledged, as if he had never gone away. So the Lord restores His wandering ones, not grudgingly but with exceeding joy, with music and dancing when the wanderer returns.

You pray above all for a Damascus Road awakening in your closest and even in those who attack you. This is a right and Christ honoring prayer. There are some who seem dead to all moral feeling, dead in trespasses and sins, without Christ and without hope in the world. Yet Jesus passed through all our sorrows and infirmities and took our sickness upon Himself in great compassion, and He still speaks to dead sinners. I may preach ten thousand years and never save a soul by my own voice, but the Master can speak through the weakest means and do what we cannot. Remember Manasseh, that prodigal of the Old Testament, who was fast chained in prison and the iron entered into his soul, and he cried not to Baal but to the Lord, and the Lord heard him. If God could bring that man back from the far country, He can awaken those for whom you pray. Keep praying that they may hear the voice of the Son of God and live.

You thank Him for the rain of hope today and ask for His eternal light to bring life to what feels as if it is dying. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His healing and His pardon go together. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Ask for forgiveness and healing will come from the pardoning hand.

So I will pray with you now to our Father in heaven. O Lord, look upon this weary one who trusts in You. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, heal bodies and hearts according to Your mercy, guard this marriage covenant and this home from every attack of the enemy, and make it strong in love and truth. Grant a true awakening to those who are yet without Christ, that they may turn and live. Let Your light shine where there is darkness and bring life where there is death. You know the desire for a speedy answer, for restoration and rehabilitation to come soon. Grant it, Lord, as seems good in Your perfect wisdom and time, and above all let Your will be done in this life and in these lives. Keep this soul hoping in You till hope becomes sight. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, Amen.
