We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing the reflection on Psalm 78:9 and the question about the battles in life where we feel the temptation to turn back rather than trust in God. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer as we all consider what it means to be like the men of Ephraim who were armed with bows yet turned back on the day of battle.
We have been praying with you that the Lord will strengthen your faith so that you will not rely only on outward preparation or your own resources but will stand firm in the day of testing. We have asked God to help you and all of us to put on the full armor of God and to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power as taught in Eph 6:10, and to remember His faithfulness so that when doubt and adversity come we do not turn back but move forward in trust. We have also been praying that you will be encouraged by the example of Jesus who did not turn back but was faithful even to the cross and who gives us strength to be more than conquerors.
