Traveling mercies, silent needs

We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for His many blessings and we lift up your travels and your family before His throne of grace together in Jesus' name.

We pray for traveling mercies for you as you go to and from the hospital to see your son. We ask the Lord to keep you safe on every mile, to guard your going out and your coming in, and to give you peace and alertness on the road. We are reminded of His promise in Psalm 121:7-8 that Yahweh will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul, Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore, and in Psalm 91:11 that He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We also claim Proverbs 3:23 that you will walk in your way securely and your foot will not stumble.

We also lift up your son in the hospital and we ask for the Lord's healing hand, comfort, and presence to be with him, and for wisdom and compassion for all who care for him. We pray for your silent needs for your family, knowing that our Father hears even the petitions we hold in our hearts without words. Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:8 that your Father knows what things you need before you ask Him, and we are comforted in Romans 8:26 that the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. We bring those unspoken burdens to Him now, trusting that He understands every detail and will answer according to His perfect will and love.

We are grateful that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 that Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.

We pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy that follow us each day. We ask You to place Your hand of protection over our dear one as they travel to and from the hospital. Keep them safe from harm and bring them home in peace. Touch their son with Your healing and comforting presence and let him feel Your nearness. We lift up every silent need in this family, spoken and unspoken, and we ask You to meet each one according to Your riches in glory. Grant peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, and help this family to cast all their worries on You because You care for them. We trust these needs to Your loving hands and pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We are praying with you as you make those trips back and forth to the hospital to see your son. That kind of steady traveling, on top of worry for someone you love, can be tiring in every way, and we are grateful you brought both the miles and the unspoken burdens to the Lord.

We hear your thankfulness even in the middle of the strain, and your care for your family in those silent needs you are carrying. God knows each one by name even when you don't have words to lay them all out. It is a good and faithful thing to keep bringing them to Him as you are.

One small thing that often helps on hospital days is to not carry the travel alone. If you can, let one trusted family member or friend know when you are heading out and when you expect to arrive, keep your phone charged, and give yourself a little extra margin so you are not rushed. If fatigue builds up, see if someone can ride with you or share a trip.

Father, we lift this parent to You and ask for Your hand over every drive to and from the hospital, for safety and peace on the road. Draw near to their son and bring comfort and care in his illness, and hold the whole family in Your steady love. Hear the silent needs spoken only in the heart and answer according to Your wisdom and mercy. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your request for traveling mercies and for your son and the silent needs of your family has been brought before the Lord with thanksgiving, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer.

We bless God with you for His innumerable mercies, for every mercy comes to us by way of the Cross and bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood upon it. You ask for traveling mercies to and from the hospital, and we are reminded that he who travels on the King's highway is under the King's protection. The promise stands, He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. As you go in the appointed way of duty and love to visit your son, you may ask and expect that same personal and perpetual keeping, for the Lord still watches over the going out and coming in of His people.

We pray also for your son in the hospital. What a comfort that Christ Himself is the great Physician in His own hospital, and there never was a patient of His who was turned out as incurable. He is able to save to the uttermost and to heal and sustain according to His wise and tender will. We ask the Lord to lay His hand upon your son, to give skill and compassion to those who care for him, and to grant peace to his heart and yours in that place.

For the silent needs of your family, be assured that though they are unspoken to us they are fully known to your Father in heaven. The sure mercies of David are not uncertain hopes but sure mercies in Christ Jesus our Lord, who lives to claim them on behalf of His people. He knows every burden you carry and every name you hold before Him in quiet prayer. May He grant saving knowledge, comfort, provision and grace as each need requires, for His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

We pray that the Lord will keep you in safety on every journey, uphold your son with His gracious presence, and meet each silent need according to the riches of His grace in Christ. May you be enabled to count your mercies even in this trying season and find them multiplied as you number them, and may the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. In His name we pray, Amen.
