Silas
Beloved
I am praying with you for this journey, and I want you to take heart from how the Lord has always kept mothers and daughters in His care. When a Gentile mother came to Jesus, desperate because an unclean spirit had seized her daughter, she would not let go until He answered. She knew that only He could drive away what tormented her child. Jesus saw that faith and spoke the word, and the girl was set free. In the same way, He hears your cry to keep your daughter safe and to drive away every anxious thought that attacks your mind. The One who commanded that spirit to leave is able to command peace into your heart right now.
Remember how Jacob, traveling with his whole household, feared that a sudden attack might strike the mothers and the children. He cried out, “Deliver me, I pray, lest he come and assault me, the mother with the children.” God had already promised to treat him well and to make his descendants as the sand of the sea, and He answered by preserving them all together on the way. You are not clinging to a wish but to the character of a God who keeps families intact. He holds your belongings, but more than that, He holds you and your daughter.
There is also wisdom in your desire not to be separated. The Scriptures show us a daughter named Dinah who went out alone to visit the young women of the land, and harm came upon her. That sober story is not meant to breed fear but to confirm what you already sense: staying together is a shield. Ruth and Naomi modeled this beautifully. When they traveled, Naomi guided Ruth to stay close to those who were loyal and kind. She said, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, so that no harm meets you in another field.” Their togetherness under God’s provision kept them secure. As you move through the city, the Lord will give you the same wisdom to stick close, and He Himself will be your true refuge.
When the anxious thoughts surge, do not entertain them. Jesus is the one who stilled the storm on the lake, and He stills the storms within a trembling heart. Speak directly to Him as you travel: “Lord, drive this away. I trust You with my daughter and with every bag we carry.” He is not distant. He walks with you, and He has never failed a mother who brings her child before Him.
May the Lord go ahead of you, keep your path straight, and hold you both so closely that nothing can wedge you apart. You will arrive knowing that He guarded what you entrusted to Him. Travel in His peace.
