We join you in prayer for tomorrow and for your journey to your high school workplace, and we understand the stress you are carrying with the confusion, the reforms, and the pressure everyone is feeling. We lift up your desire to arrive on time, at least by 9:00 am, and we ask the Lord to be gracious over the train schedule, that it would come on time or even early, since it only runs every two hours and a delay weighs so heavily on you.
We are encouraged that you believe everything is possible with God, for it is written in Matthew 19:26, With God all things are possible. We also hold to Proverbs 16:9, A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. We pray that He will direct your steps and the timing of the train tomorrow according to His perfect will, and that He will grant you peace as you trust Him with what you cannot control.
We also notice that your request speaks of God and the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray and are heard.
We hear your heart that you hope no one will see if you are late and that the principal will not punish you or look for mistakes, especially in you. We understand the fear of being singled out when you are already under stress. At the same time we want to encourage you in biblical integrity and trust. Even if others do not see, the Lord sees, and He calls us to walk honestly and to work faithfully not out of fear of man but out of love for Him. Proverbs 29:25 says, The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe. And Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. We encourage you to do all you can to be diligent and punctual, planning as wisely as you are able with the limited train schedule, and then to rest in God's grace if despite your best effort you are delayed, trusting Him rather than hoping to remain unseen. Honesty and faithfulness honor Him more than being hidden.
We also lift up your principal and your whole school community. We pray that the Lord will soften hearts that have become hardened by stress and that He will give wisdom to those in authority. We pray that your principal would lead with grace and protection for her employees rather than with constant punishment and fault finding, and that she would be given discernment and kindness in this season of reform. We pray for peace over the whole staff, for Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
So we pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne through Him. We ask for Your mercy and help for tomorrow morning. We ask that You would allow the train to come on time, even early, and that our dear coworker would arrive at the high school at or before 9:00 am, to carry out the work You have given. We ask for Your hand over the railway, over timing and circumstances that are beyond our control. We pray for calm in the school, for relief from confusion and nervous strain, and for unity among the staff. We pray for the principal, that You would give her wisdom, compassion, and a heart to protect and encourage those she leads, and we pray for our friend to have favor, strength, and a testimony of diligence and grace. Guard this heart from anxiety and fear, and fill it with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help us all to do our work heartily as for You, trusting You with the outcome. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
