Your prayer comes from a deep place of pain, and there is nothing wrong with pouring out that anguish before the Lord. It is the right thing to do. When your heart is bruised from being overlooked and undermined, it is a grace that you have turned to the Father instead of letting the wound fester in silence. He sees the truth of the help and loyalty you have given. He is not blind to it, and He is the one who weighs the heart.

But even as you have brought this hurt to God, guard yourself carefully against what can grow out of it. A root of bitterness can spring up before you even realize it has taken hold. It feels justified at first, because the offense is real. But bitterness is not just a feeling you endure; it is a choice you make as you rehearse the wrong over and over. If you feed it, that root will snake its way through your thoughts, your words, and your relationships, and it will defile far more than just your own peace. It will color how you see everything, and in the end, bitterness only destroys the person who harbors it. It does you real harm.

Remember what bitterness does. It can make even a person who has been close to the things of God become hard and twisted. We are warned not for nothing to look diligently, lest any root of bitterness spring up and cause trouble. You can present a calm face while inside your soul tastes gall, but that poison still works. Do not let the wrongs done to you turn into a grudge that shapes you. Your prayer asked for protection from bitterness, and that prayer is wise. Hold to it. When the replay of the injustice begins, do not let it loop. Turn your mind instead to the mercies of God that are new every morning. You are still standing. Your ultimate reward is not from any human hand, and that is not a cliche; it is bedrock.

As for the one in authority, your desire for her eyes to be opened is right, but entrust that work entirely to the Lord. True humility is a gift only God can give, and before honor comes humility. No amount of manipulation or ambition can manufacture lasting honor. Promotion comes from the Lord, not from currying favor or stepping over others. Pray, but then leave the outcome with Him. The Lord alone has the discernment to see every hidden motive and to bring hidden things to light in His time. While you wait, let your own posture be like that of a servant who serves the Lord with all humility of mind, not for the praise of people but because you answer to a higher Master. Paul served with many tears and trials, with people lying in wait to ambush him, yet he kept nothing back that was profitable. He fixed his eyes on the Lord, not on the shifting opinions of those around him.

So keep doing your best with dignity and peace. Let your work be an offering to God, not a down payment on human recognition. The peace you asked for is found in releasing the burden of making sure everyone sees the truth. You are not forgotten by the one whose memory matters. When your heart starts to ache with the injustice, do what Hannah did: pour out the bitterness of soul before the Lord, even when you cannot find words. He hears the sob beneath the silence. Then rise, and let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. Do not let the roots of bitterness find good soil in you. Choose to become better through this, not bitter.
