Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to You today with a heavy heart, carrying the hurt and frustration of feeling forgotten and unseen in my workplace. Lord, You see all things; You know the truth of how I have helped and supported my department head since the very beginning. You know the labor, loyalty, and heart I have poured into this work.

I lift my department head up to You today. Lord, I ask that You break the fog of manipulation and deceit that has surrounded her. Open her eyes to see through ### manipulation and any false narratives being fed to her. Expose ### being two faced and how she step over ### and how she bypass her at times. Grant ### discernment and clarity of mind to see the workplace, and the people in it, exactly as they are.

Touch her heart, Lord. Break through any pride or insecurity that a position of authority can bring. I pray that You would give her a spirit of true humility. Remind her that a title or position is never the true measure of work done, but rather the dedication, integrity, and hearts of the people supporting her.

Help her to remember the history we share. Soften her heart to recall the genuine help and foundation I have provided.

While I wait for You to move, protect my own mind and heart from bitterness. Give me peace, dignity, and the strength to keep doing my best, knowing that my ultimate reward comes from You and not from man.

We hear the pain and frustration in your heart as you pour out your struggles in the workplace. It is not easy to feel overlooked or undervalued, especially when you have given so much of yourself in loyalty and hard work. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up your department head and the challenges you face, knowing that the Lord sees all and is just in His ways.

First, we want to affirm the spirit of your prayer, seeking God’s intervention rather than harboring bitterness or resentment. This is a godly posture, and we encourage you to continue walking in humility and grace, even when it feels difficult. The Bible reminds us in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Your ultimate reward comes from the Lord, not from the recognition of others, and this truth should anchor your heart.

We also lift up your department head before the Lord. It is concerning to hear of manipulation, deceit, and a lack of discernment in leadership. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." We pray that the Lord would break any pride or insecurity in her heart that may be blinding her to the truth. May He grant her wisdom and humility, as James 4:6 tells us, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'"

We rebuke the spirit of deception and manipulation in that workplace. The enemy seeks to sow discord and division, but we declare that God’s light will expose every hidden agenda. Ephesians 5:11-13 says, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even expose them. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light." We pray that the Lord would reveal the truth and bring clarity to your department head’s mind and heart.

We also want to gently remind you to guard your own heart against bitterness. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Bitterness can take root quickly when we feel wronged, but we pray that the Lord would fill you with His peace and remind you of His faithfulness. Keep doing your work with excellence, as unto the Lord, and trust that He sees your efforts.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in the workplace. Lord, You see the loyalty, hard work, and dedication that has been poured out, and we ask that You would move in power to bring truth to light. Break the chains of deception and manipulation, Father, and grant wisdom and discernment to those in leadership. Soften hearts, Lord, and remind them of the value of integrity and humility.

We pray for our sister/brother in this situation, that You would protect their heart from bitterness and fill them with Your peace. Help them to continue working as unto You, knowing that their reward comes from You alone. Strengthen them in this season, Lord, and remind them that You are their ultimate provider and vindicator.

Expose every lie, Father, and let Your light shine in the darkness. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children will prosper, and we trust in Your justice and mercy. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We know how deeply it cuts to pour yourself into your work and genuinely support someone in leadership, only to watch another person spin a different story and capture attention you earned through loyalty and effort. That sense of being erased, especially when you have a history of showing up faithfully, can stir a heavy mix of hurt and frustration. What you asked for in your prayer, protection from bitterness, is wise and well-timed. Bitterness tends to settle in when the wrong feels ongoing and unseen, and fighting it before it roots is much easier than digging it out later.

One concrete thing that sometimes helps in situations like this is to quietly document your contributions. Not to build a case you plan to drop on someone's desk, but so that on the hard days you have your own record of integrity to look back on. It steadies something inside to know the truth, even when no one else is seeing it clearly right now. Alongside that, finding one trusted person outside the situation who will simply listen, not fix, not take sides, just hear you, can keep the isolation from growing heavier.

The dynamic you described, where your department head seems caught in a fog of manipulation, is painful to watch and even harder to live under. We join you in asking God to sharpen her discernment, to bring clarity where confusion has been stirred, and to keep your own heart free from the creeping weight of resentment. However slowly things shift, your work and your dignity matter, and they are not invisible to the One who sees everything.

Lord, we lift up this situation at work. Give this department head true clarity of mind, pierce through any manipulation, and help her to see and value the people who have served her with integrity. The regulation is, "With bitter herbs shall you eat it," therefore, let us go on with our work and take whatever of bitterness accompanies our service. Perhaps some of you get sneered at for your religion, that is your dish of bitter herbs. And perhaps this bitterness in your workplace, this sense of being forgotten and overlooked, this seeing manipulation go unchecked, this too is the bitter herb upon your plate. Do not let it turn your stomach away from the Paschal Lamb. Feed on Christ, and let the bitterness drive you deeper into His sweetness. For that bitterness makes Christ very sweet. The world loses its charms for true believers, and one effect of this bitterness upon the soul that feels it is to take away all bitterness against your fellow men.

You have prayed for your department head’s eyes to be opened, for the fog of deceit to be broken. That is well. But you must now leave that work with the Lord, who sees all things. Justice has been vindicated, mercy has been magnified and we are justly forgiven. Strange fusion of vehement Grace and vindictive wrath! If the Lord can so perfectly balance justice and mercy in the salvation of your own soul, can you not trust Him to handle the smaller justice of your workplace? He sees the labor, the loyalty, the heart you have poured out. Your ultimate reward comes from Him and not from man. Seek you first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. When a man lives for God and for eternal life, he will get all the things he needs without seeking for them.

You ask for her to remember the history you share, for a softening of her heart. You must now seek the Lord honestly, with no sinister and selfish motive. Are you seeking only God’s good, or your own vindication along with it? Lay your reputation, your hurt, your frustration at His feet, feeling that for holiness no strength have you, your strength is at His feet to lie. Then, sitting where you are, trust the Son of God with this entire matter. The seeking sinner is often looking abroad for that which is at home. Peace is near to you. The Lord has not winked at your pain, but He calls you to a settled peace consistent with justice, His own justice, which He will display in His perfect time.

The hurt you feel at being overlooked is a wound not easily borne. But consider carefully: what is it you truly seek? Is it that your department head should know your worth, or that God should? You have poured out labor and loyalty, yet you find no earthly recognition. But remember, the reward from men is fleeting and often founded on error. Do not let the desire for human approval become a snare. For those who serve only for visible honor have already received their payment.

Your prayer for your department head is full of zeal, yet examine it closely. You ask that her eyes be opened to the deceit of another, but take heed that your own eyes are not darkened by the root of bitterness. A root of bitterness, once it springs up, does not merely trouble you; it defiles many. Its fruit is never sweet, all is bitter, all is full of hatred and abomination. You cannot uproot another’s faults while nurturing this poison in your own heart. How can you ask God to break through pride and insecurity in her, while your own spirit is fed by the injury you feel? That is not humility; that is self-will masked as righteousness.

True humility is not the lowliness of one who has no choice. It is the virtue of a soul that, having every claim to honor, chooses to descend for the sake of love. The Apostle Paul, after labors beyond measure, went to visit Peter as an elder and superior. He did not demand to be seen; he made himself a servant of all, even when his own rights were strong. Are you, then, greater than Paul? If you would follow Christ, then look to how He prayed in His agony. He did not call for a revelation of all hidden things, nor for the vindication of His sufferings before men. He said, “Glorify Your Name.” Even when He could have summoned legions of angels, He entrusted Himself to the Father who judges justly.

So then, lay aside this anxious pleading for exposure and rectification in the eyes of your department head. It is God who sees the labor and the heart. Is that not enough? If a title or position is not the true measure of work, why do you measure yourself by her recognition? Serve with all humility of mind, not with an eye to the history you share or the foundation you have laid, but because Christ waits in every task done for His sake. Protect your heart, yes, but protect it not by demanding vindication. Protect it by uprooting the bitterness that grows unseen, by embracing the lowliness that is your true glory. In the day when all secrets are disclosed, it will not matter who stepped over you or bypassed you. It will matter only whether you loved, whether you forgave, and whether you remained faithful with a quiet and peaceable spirit.
