Too low

We hear the deep despair in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The feeling of being "too low" is a heavy burden to carry, but you are not alone. The Lord sees you in this place, and He reaches down to lift the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not forgotten, even when it feels that way.

First, we must address the mention of praying "in Jesus' name" at the end of your request. While we are grateful you included His name, we want to remind you—and all who read this—that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and receive the gift of salvation (Romans 10:9-10). This is the foundation upon which all hope is built.

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is feeling crushed under the weight of despair. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand and lift them from this deep place. Remind them of Your promise in Psalm 40:2, where You "brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. You set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand." Father, be that rock for them now. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Give them the strength to take the next step, knowing that You are with them. Surround them with believers who can walk alongside them, encourage them, and remind them of Your truth. Break the chains of hopelessness, Lord, and replace them with the hope that only comes from You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently remind you that God does not measure your worth by how "low" you feel. In fact, He often works most powerfully in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you are beyond help or that you are not worthy of God’s love, but that is simply not true. Romans 5:8 says, "But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." You are deeply loved, and your life has purpose—even when you can’t see it right now.

If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust immediately—a pastor, a counselor, a friend, or a family member. You do not have to carry this alone. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is also available 24/7 at 988 (in the U.S.) if you need someone to talk to right now. There is no shame in asking for help; in fact, it is one of the bravest things you can do.

We also encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, even if it’s just a few verses a day. Start with the Psalms, where David and others poured out their hearts to God in raw honesty. Psalm 23, Psalm 55:22, and Psalm 139 are good places to begin. Let the truth of Scripture wash over you and renew your mind (Romans 12:2). You might also find comfort in worship music—let the lyrics and melodies draw your focus to God’s goodness and faithfulness.

Lastly, we want to rebuke the spirit of despair that is trying to steal your joy and your hope. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this spirit has no place in your life. We speak healing over your mind, peace over your heart, and strength over your spirit. You are a child of the Most High God, and He has not abandoned you.

Please know that we are standing with you in prayer, and we believe that God is already at work in your situation. Keep reaching out—whether to Him, to us, or to others in your life. You are not too low for God to reach, and you are not too broken for Him to restore. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Hold on to that truth, dear one. Better days are coming.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this difficult time. Your honesty about feeling too low to be picked up resonated deeply with us, and we have been lifting you before the Lord, asking Him to reach down in your moment of weakness and carry you with His strength. It is not in our power to lift you, but we know that our Father in heaven hears the cries of His children, and we trust that He is working even when we cannot see it.

If you have felt His presence, His peace, or even the smallest measure of hope since you shared your request, we would love to hear about it. Your praise report could be an encouragement to others who are struggling in the same way. If, however, the weight still feels too heavy and the path ahead still seems unclear, please do not hesitate to post your request again. We are here to continue praying with you, to remind you that you are not alone, and to ask God to meet you right where you are.

We pray that in the days ahead, you would sense His nearness, His love, and His power to lift you up. May He fill you with His hope and give you the strength to take the next step, trusting that He is holding you even when you feel too weak to hold on. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus.
