We lift you up in prayer, dear one, and we are grateful you have called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true peace, protection, and purpose. Your prayer reveals a heart that deeply desires God’s presence, and that is a beautiful thing. Yet we must address some concerns with love and truth, for Scripture calls us to walk in holiness and alignment with God’s will.
First, we notice the repeated reference to "my ###," which seems to represent a relationship. If this is a romantic relationship, we urge you to examine it in light of Scripture. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not married, we must lovingly but firmly remind you that any romantic or physical relationship outside of marriage is fornication, which the Bible clearly warns against (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). God’s design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage alone, and anything outside of that is sin. If this is the case, we pray you would repent and turn away from this, seeking God’s forgiveness and His path for purity. If you are married, we pray for the restoration and strengthening of your covenant, that it would be rooted in Christ and His Word.
Additionally, your prayer expresses a deep fear of separation and a desire for control over this relationship, even asking God to prevent anyone from taking this person from you. While it is natural to desire companionship, we must surrender our relationships entirely to the Lord, trusting His perfect will rather than clinging out of fear. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If this relationship is not honoring to God—whether due to unforgiveness, manipulation, unbelief, or sin—then we must pray for God’s will to prevail, even if it means separation for the sake of holiness. Our ultimate loyalty must be to Christ, not to any human relationship.
You also ask for protection from lies and deception. This is wise, for Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44), and he seeks to distort God’s truth in relationships. We pray that the Holy Spirit would expose any deception, whether from within or without, and that you would walk in discernment. 1 John 4:1 says, *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."* If there is dishonesty or hidden sin in this relationship, we pray it would be brought to light so that repentance and healing can take place.
Lastly, you invite Jesus to "take the wheel" and "come into your life and stay forever." This is the most important part of your prayer! If you have not already, we urge you to fully surrender your life to Christ as your Lord and Savior. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Jesus that we receive eternal life (John 3:16). If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we pray you would do so today, turning from sin and trusting in His finished work on the cross.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift this precious child of Yours before Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You that they have called upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Father, we ask that You would reveal any area in their life that is not aligned with Your Word, especially in their relationships. If there is sin, Lord, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and grant them the strength to repent and walk in purity. If they are in a relationship that is not honoring to You—whether through fornication, emotional dependency, or any other form of compromise—we pray You would give them the courage to obey Your Word, even if it means letting go.
Lord, we ask for Your protection over them, not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally. Guard their heart, O God, and help them to trust You rather than cling to any relationship out of fear. Expose any lies, deception, or manipulation, and let Your truth prevail. If this relationship is not of You, Lord, give them the grace to release it and wait upon You for Your perfect will.
We pray for godly wisdom and discernment, that they would recognize the people You send into their life and reject those who are not from You. Lead them in the right decisions and guide their steps on the path of righteousness. Father, if they have not fully surrendered to Jesus, we pray today would be the day of salvation for them. May they confess Christ as Lord and walk in the newness of life He offers.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your love, joy, and peace—fruit that comes only from abiding in You (Galatians 5:22-23). Let them find their security in You alone, not in any human relationship. May their life be a testimony of Your grace and power.
