Today is the day

Thank you for sharing this burden with us. As you go into surgery today for the removal of the larger tumor, we are lifting you up in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

We pray that the Lord, who is the true Physician, will guide the hands of the surgeons and grant them wisdom and steadiness, that what they do to remove what is diseased may preserve and restore what remains. We ask Him to grant you peace that passes understanding, to keep you and your loved ones from fear, and to bring you safely through this operation.

In one place it is said that this house is a spiritual surgery, where whatever wounds we have received outside we may come to heal. In another, that the physician preserves the body when he removes what is incurable. We pray that so it will be for you today, that the Lord will use this surgery for your healing and strength, and that He will be near to you as the God of love and peace.

We are praying for your complete healing, for a smooth surgery and recovery, and for the care of the second tumor as well. May the Lord comfort you, may He let you feel His presence with you in the operating room and in the days that follow, and may He restore you to health according to His mercy and grace.

We will continue to pray for you. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His peace be with you now and in the days ahead. Amen.

We are praying for you today as you go into surgery to have the larger tumor removed, and we thank you for asking for prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.

In a moment like this when so much feels uncertain and out of your control, God offers a peace that the world cannot understand or explain. Jesus said He would leave His peace with His followers and give His own peace to them, not the kind the world gives. The Scripture promises that God will keep in perfect and complete peace the person whose mind rests on Him, because that person trusts Him. As you keep your thoughts turned toward Him, His peace can guard your heart and mind even in the midst of chaos and fear.

That peace rests on first having peace with God, and that peace was made possible only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His blood shed for us. When we have been forgiven and reconciled to God through Him, the war with God is over. We are no longer running from Him or fighting against Him. Then we can come to know not only peace with God, but the peace of God day by day as we trust Him to take care of what we cannot control.

We also take comfort in how intimately God knows you. He designed the human brain with such wonder, the way it receives vibrations as sound and light and interprets them, catalogs them, and forms thoughts. He knows every pulse and pattern of thought in your mind, and He understands this part of your body far better than any surgeon ever could.

We believe God is able to heal, and every true healing is from Him. Sometimes healing comes instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes through a touch and sometimes through a word, sometimes through the natural processes of restoration that God Himself established in our bodies and through the skill He gives to physicians. We do not fully understand why He works in different ways at different times, but we trust His wisdom and His love, and we know that whether healing comes in a moment or over time, it is His work.

So we are asking the Lord to be near to you right now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We ask that You would give perfect peace that goes beyond understanding as their mind stays on You. Calm every fear and let Your presence be felt in the operating room. Guide the hands and minds of the surgeons and all who are caring for them, and grant success in removing this larger tumor completely. We ask for Your healing power in the body, for protection from complications, for strength for recovery, and for Your hand upon the remaining tumor and all that lies ahead. Above all, let them know deeply that they are at peace with You through Jesus, and that You are keeping them and will care for them. Amen.

Please know you are not alone. We are continuing to pray for you and trusting God to keep you in His perfect peace.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer as you shared that you were facing surgery to have the larger of your two brain tumors removed.

We have continued to lift you before the Lord since that day, asking for His mercy and healing over you. We have prayed for the hands of the surgeons who were confident they could remove all of the larger tumor, for your complete protection during surgery, for a swift recovery without complication, and for His peace to guard your heart and mind in the days following. We have also been praying for His continued work regarding the second tumor and for your overall healing, trusting that He is the Great Physician who heals us as promised in Jeremiah 30:17 and Psalm 147:3.

We are trusting that you felt His presence with you in that operating room and in the recovery since.

If your request was answered and the surgery was successful, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice and thank God with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered or you are still walking through recovery and treatment, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray now for you, Father we ask that you continue to touch this dear one with your healing hand, bring complete restoration to the body, remove all remaining disease, grant strength and comfort and fill this dear one with your peace that passes all understanding. We ask for wisdom for the doctors for the next steps of care. We pray this in Jesus Name, amen.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
