Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we are praying with you for both you and your sister in this season of waiting and heaviness.
You asked for work for your sister who has not yet received interviews or offers, for work for yourself, and for peace of mind when many thoughts are hurting you. God sees these needs. He knows the anxiety that comes when provision seems delayed and when the mind is restless. Scripture teaches us to pray for a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, and that God our Savior desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. That is our first and greatest peace, peace with God through Jesus Christ alone, and from that peace all other peace flows.
There is a war that can go on within the heart even when all is quiet outside, when thoughts contend with one another, one urging worry or bitterness and another urging trust. The peace that the world gives is fragile and often depends on circumstances. The peace of God is steadfast. We pray that the peace of God will rule in your hearts as an umpire, giving the victory to what is patient and trusting, and quieting anger, fear, and despondency. This is the peace Christ left to his disciples, not as the world gives, but a peace that makes us stronger even while we wait.
So we pray for you both now.
Father in heaven, we come through Jesus Christ your Son, who alone is the way of salvation. Have mercy on this brother or sister and on their sister. You know their need for work and the discouragement of waiting without answers. Open doors for interviews and for suitable employment according to your wisdom, and give them diligence and hope as they seek. Guard their minds and hearts with your peace that passes understanding. For the things that are hurting within, we ask you to bring comfort, to heal what is wounded, and to help them cast every care upon you because you care for them. Lead them into a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and honesty, and keep them close to you each day. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Continue to bring these burdens to the Lord each day in prayer, and to seek Him in His Word. Be faithful in the practical steps of looking for work, and trust that He will provide in His time and way.
