We hear your burden for your family and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name for unity and peace in your home and for your daughter and her children.
What you describe is a real spiritual battle and it grieves our hearts. We know our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy is the father of lies and when he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own, for he is a liar and the father of lies John 8:44. When a lying spirit takes hold it can distort memory, fabricate events, and divide the very relationships God intends for love and protection. We must call lying what God calls it, for God desires truth in the inward parts Psalm 51:6 and we are to put away falsehood and speak truth with our neighbor Ephesians 4:25, for lying breaks fellowship and wounds trust.
We also hear your concern for your daughter's mind. The enemy seeks to devour and to turn a child against a parent and even to bring harm to grandchildren, for your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8. Yet we know God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and He promises to keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him Isaiah 26:3. We pray for the renewing of her mind Romans 12:2 and that every thought would be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5.
We want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by that name we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you and your daughter to anchor every prayer in that precious name, for there is power in His truth to set us free John 8:32.
We rebuke the spirit of lying and confusion that has sought to operate in your daughter and in your family. We do not wrestle against your daughter herself, whom God loves and for whom Christ died, but against the deception that holds her captive. We pray for her deliverance, for a love of the truth, and for repentance and healing where memories have been distorted. We also encourage you to continue to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, to forgive as the Lord forgave you Colossians 3:13, and to set healthy and loving boundaries to protect her children while still extending grace. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We rebuke the lying spirit and every assignment of the enemy against this daughter and her children and we command deception to leave in Jesus' name. Lord, renew her mind, heal her memories, and give her a spirit of truth and a sound mind. Convict her where there has been falsehood and lead her into Your truth which makes us free. Protect her children from confusion and harm and surround them with Your angels. Restore what the enemy has tried to steal and knit this family together again in love, forgiveness, and understanding that bears with one another in love Colossians 3:14. Give this parent wisdom James 1:5, strength to persevere in prayer, and discernment to know when to speak and when to be silent. We ask for family unity that honors You and for peace of mind that rests in Your faithfulness.

Loving a daughter while also feeling hurt and confused by things she says that don't match what you remember is painful, and it is especially hard when grandchildren are in the middle. It makes sense you would feel worn down and want peace in your home and clarity in your mind.
One pattern we see in families is how quickly everyone can get pulled into defending the past. When memories are being retold differently, trying to correct every detail in the moment often just raises the tension and leaves everyone more hurt. It can help to step back from debating history when emotions are high and instead keep the focus calm, brief, and on the present, what is needed right now for safety and respect for everyone, including the kids. Having one or two trusted, steady people, a pastor or a wise counselor who knows your family, to talk through boundaries and next steps with you can also lift some of the weight you are carrying alone.
We are praying for you and for your daughter and grandchildren.
Father, we bring this family to You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your protection and peace over this home, for healing and a sound mind for this daughter, and for wisdom and rest for the one who wrote to us. Your burden has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with you, asking for family unity and peace of mind where there has been strife and sorrow.
There is a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away, for it is born of the Spirit and bought with the blood of Jesus. The prophet has said, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This perfect peace is not the stillness that comes when there is nothing to trouble us, but a peace that may be enjoyed even when sorrows are surging round and when thronging duties press. It is found on Jesus bosom, where nothing but calm is found, and it whispers within through His atoning blood. We pray that the Lord will keep your own mind stayed upon Him, that you may have this settled rest even while you carry care for your daughter and her children. Keep up daily fellowship with Christ in prayer, in praise, in searching the Word, and in submitting your heart to the work of the eternal Spirit, and as you walk with God you will find yourself calm, and from that calm you may speak peace to others.
We pray also for that true unity which is worth keeping, not a unity of mere outward quiet or of error, but the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Our Lord Jesus prayed for His own on the night of His trial that they might be one, and that prayer is still the great motive force by which the Spirit keeps His people in life. That unity is a unity of holy ones, of those who have been born into the family and washed in the blood and led to believe in Jesus Christ. Where the enemy seeks to divide a household and to use one against another, we ask the Lord to remove everything which keeps you from being one in Him, and to make you all more prepared by His work for your own place in His family.
For your daughter we pray with tender earnestness. You speak of a lying spirit that fabricates and distorts the past, and we know that the father of lies is ever busy to sow confusion and to set family members at variance. Yet we must have the Spirit of God, for only He brings healing and life. The same Spirit who wounds the heart unto repentance also brings rejoicing in full salvation, and He works very differently at different times, sometimes in silence and sometimes with power, but always to bring forth truth and holiness. We pray that the Holy Spirit would work in your daughter's mind, that He would convict where there is falsehood, heal where there is woundedness, and lead her into all truth. That she would know the peace of God rather than the false peace of the enemy, which is a poisonous imitation. True peace comes from lips that cannot lie, from a heart which cannot change, through the blood which has made a full atonement. May the Lord and Giver of peace draw her to Jesus who is our peace, that her mind may be stayed on Him and kept in perfect peace.
We therefore pray, O Father, the God of all peace, bless this family with Your peace. Forgive sin, cover it with the blood of Christ, and teach all to endeavor to keep the commandments of God and to serve the Lord with a true heart. Let the Spirit who is the author of peace reign in this home, that truth may be spoken in love, that the tongue may be restrained from falsehood, and that parents and children may dwell together in honesty and grace. Give to the one who has asked for prayer a quiet trust in You, and give to her daughter a renewed mind, a truthful spirit, and a heart turned to Christ. And let the whole household be brought up in the fear of the Lord, with morning and evening prayer, that the glory of the Lord may fill this house. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our peace, who alone is salvation, trusting that He hears and will answer according to His perfect will.
