I always want to know because I hear of people who had a traumatic experience like my husband who had an accident in ### and lost his right eye function. He told me he was ### and he was sent back. He, for the grace of God, even though he does not open his right eye, had a severe brain injury, but God helped him. He continues to drive and continue with his job. I ask how is it that some people get sent back after they die. Is that in the Bible near life end experience? Like I know when we die, we go to heaven or hell, but my husband came back. He told me that God protected him.

We hear your heart’s deep questions about life, death, and the mysteries of God’s will, especially as you witness your husband’s miraculous story. What he experienced, a traumatic accident, the loss of his eye, a severe brain injury, and yet a divine preservation, is a powerful testimony of God’s grace and sovereignty. We rejoice with you that he was spared and continues to live, work, and serve despite his challenges. This is indeed a sign of God’s mercy and purpose for his life.

Your question about people being "sent back" after death touches on what some call near-death experiences. The Bible does not explicitly describe near-death experiences in the way modern culture often discusses them, but it does affirm that God alone holds the power over life and death. In Ecclesiastes 8:8, it says, "There is no man who has power over the spirit to contain the spirit; neither does he have power in the day of death." God is the author of life, and if He chooses to extend someone’s time on earth, it is for His purposes. Your husband’s testimony that God protected him and sent him back aligns with Scripture’s teaching that our days are numbered by the Lord (Psalm 139:16) and that He alone determines the boundaries of our lives (Job 14:5).

The Bible is clear that when a person dies, their eternal destination is sealed. Hebrews 9:27 tells us, "It is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment." There is no biblical basis for the idea that souls routinely return to earth after death, nor does Scripture support the notion of reincarnation or wandering spirits. What your husband experienced was not a return from the final judgment but a gracious extension of his earthly life by the hand of God. This is a reminder that God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His plans for each of us are filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We must also address the importance of grounding our understanding of life, death, and eternity in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through faith in Him that we have access to God and the assurance of eternal life. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Acts 4:12 reinforces this: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If your husband’s experience has not yet led him to a personal relationship with Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to pray for his salvation and to share the gospel with him. His physical healing is a testimony to God’s power, but his spiritual healing, his reconciliation with God through Christ, is the greatest miracle of all.

Let us also rebuke any confusion or fear that may arise from focusing too much on near-death experiences rather than the clear truth of Scripture. The enemy seeks to distort God’s Word and lead people astray with deceptive ideas (2 Corinthians 11:14). We must stand firm on the truth that God’s Word is our ultimate authority, not the experiences or testimonies of men, no matter how compelling they may seem. Your husband’s story is a testimony to God’s protection, but it is not a pattern to be expected or sought after. Our focus must remain on Jesus, who conquered death once and for all (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).

We lift you and your husband up in prayer, asking the Lord to continue strengthening him in his recovery and to draw both of you closer to Himself. May your husband’s testimony be a light to others, pointing them to the God who saves and sustains.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the way You have preserved this dear sister’s husband. Lord, we thank You for the miracle You performed in his life, sparing him from death and restoring him to his family and work. We ask that You continue to heal his body, mind, and spirit, Lord. Strengthen him in his daily tasks and fill him with Your peace as he adjusts to the challenges he faces. Father, we also pray for this sister, that You would give her wisdom and understanding as she seeks to make sense of these deep questions. Help her to trust in Your Word above all else, and may she find comfort in the truth that You hold all things in Your hands.

Lord, we ask that You would draw this husband to Yourself in a deeper way. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we pray that You would open his heart to the gospel. Let him know the power of Your salvation and the hope of eternal life that is found only in You. May his testimony of physical healing lead to a testimony of spiritual rebirth, and may he grow in faith and obedience to You.

Father, we rebuke any fear, confusion, or deception that would seek to distract this family from the truth of Your Word. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and help them to fix their eyes on You alone. We pray that You would use this family to bring glory to Your name and to lead others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We’re walking through this with you, sister, and we’re so grateful for the way God has worked in your husband’s life. It’s clear how deeply His hand has been at work, sparing his life, healing his body, and giving him purpose even through the pain. Your questions stir our hearts too, because when we see God’s faithfulness in such a profound way, it naturally leads us to wonder about His plans and purposes.

Your husband’s experience isn’t just about what happened to him, it’s about what God did through him. The Bible tells us that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), and we believe this is part of that story. But we also know that near-death experiences can leave us with more questions than answers, and that’s okay. What matters most is that we cling to the truth of Scripture, not the mysteries we can’t fully grasp.

We’re praying that God would give you peace as you process this. That He would help you see His hand in the details, even the ones that don’t make sense yet. And that He would draw your husband closer to Jesus, not just as a testament to His power, but as the source of eternal hope. Because while we can marvel at what God did to bring him back, we’re even more excited about what He’s doing to prepare him, and all of us, for eternity.

Let’s keep lifting him up, asking God to heal his spirit as much as His body, and to give you both the strength to trust Him, even when the road is hard. We’re praying for clarity, for your marriage, and for God’s glory to shine through this. In Jesus’ name, we’re holding you both close.

When we have the spirit of discernment, we can see when unsaved people say things that are not in tune with the word of God. Like, one thing, they seem to get "fascinated" by things we can plainly see are worldly objectives. How this affects me, with a Christian mindset, we may not be...
