We join together with you in bringing these everyday concerns before our heavenly Father, trusting that He cares about the details of our lives as well as the matters of our hearts.
We pray for your family's upcoming time out of town, that the Lord would grant traveling mercies and that the weather would be favorable according to His good will. We remember that every good provision comes from Him and we can cast our cares upon Him. We lift up the blue medical scooter and your current wheelchair which is falling apart, and your hope for a new one, as well as your mum's upcoming need as she faces foot surgery. We ask God to provide for these practical needs and to sustain you both. Philippians 4:19 reminds us that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and Psalm 121:8 says Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time on, and forevermore.
We also lift up your mum in her work as an ESL tutor. We understand how discouraging it can be to deal with challenging students, especially when there is disrespect from a young student and difficulty in communication with others, even when they seem polite. We pray that God would give her wisdom, patience, and grace to handle each student with firmness and love. Colossians 4:6 teaches us to let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one, and Proverbs 15:1 says a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. We pray that the disrespectful student would have a change of heart and learn to show honor, and that your mum would have discernment to set healthy boundaries, including the wisdom to know when it is right for a student to stop taking classes if behavior does not improve. We also pray for the new student who asks a lot, that your mum would have endurance and clarity, and that God would use her work to be a light even in difficult teaching situations.
We want to lovingly address the concern you raised about cheating to remain a Super Tutor, where your mum might force you to become a Preply student again. We must rebuke any form of dishonesty, even when the pressure to keep a status or reputation feels strong. The Lord desires truth and integrity in all we do, and dishonest gain is not honoring to Him. Proverbs 11:1 tells us a false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight, and Colossians 3:9 says do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings. Proverbs 21:6 warns that getting treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death. We encourage you both to trust God rather than resorting to deceit, for even small compromises can harm your testimony and your conscience. If you are asked to do something dishonest, we encourage you to respectfully and lovingly decline, for we ought to obey God rather than men when the two conflict, Acts 5:29, while still honoring your mother as Exodus 20:12 calls us to honor your father and your mother. There are more important things to worry about, as you said, and the most important thing is walking honestly before the Lord, for He sees in secret and rewards faithfulness.
We also bring your mum's foot surgery before the Lord, asking for skilled hands for the doctors, a successful outcome, and a smooth recovery. We pray for healing and for provision of any mobility aids she may need, and for your own need for a new wheelchair. Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, and Isaiah 41:10 reminds us not to be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We cast all our worries on Him, because 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.
So we pray together now, in Jesus name, Father we thank You for Your care over this family. We ask for safe travel and for Your hand over the weather. We ask You to keep the blue medical scooter working and to provide a new wheelchair that is sturdy and reliable, and to meet the need for mobility for both this dear one and for their mum. We ask for Your healing touch upon their mum's foot, guide the surgeons and grant complete recovery. Give her wisdom and grace with each challenging student, soften the heart of the disrespectful young woman, give patience with the difficult adult student and the new student who asks much, and help her to set boundaries that honor You. Keep this family from any dishonest path, and give courage to choose integrity even under pressure, trusting that You will honor those who honor You. Fill their hearts with Your peace that passes all understanding, and draw them closer to Jesus, in whose name we have hope and access to You. Amen.
