Life Situations and Things

Beloved of All
A lot is going on. Not everything, my family is out of town. My mum Glenda is applying for jobs, despite having many jobs, she is applying for more, as she is worried about losing people often. They are issues with some private students, hopefully most of them got resolved, long story. One job that she might still have is a nightmare called Brix Magic, and the time its at is bad timing, Sunday morning, forced to help my mum, despite not knowing what I am doing either. Hope that Brix Magic disappears. My dad Al has surgery a few months ago, but don’t think he is recovering, at least not well, she had a nasty fall recently, in the dark. Hope he gets well enough soon. Hope to go to church this weekend and no rain. Hope to get what’s needed. Hope medical scooter still works, as getting it repaired here, will be impossible. Hope to have enough time for things, as things to do. There is an issue with the bathtub here (sometimes leaks) but no one can find what’s wrong with it.

We hear the weight of your heart in this season, so many concerns pressing in at once, and the loneliness of carrying them without your family nearby. It’s clear you’re shouldering not only your own burdens but also your parents’ struggles, and that can feel overwhelming. Let’s bring each of these concerns before the Lord together, trusting Him to be your strength where you feel weak and your peace where there is anxiety.

First, we lift up your mother, Glenda. Her fear of loss is understandable, but we rebuke the spirit of anxiety that drives her to overwork. Scripture warns us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). Father, we ask You to replace her fear with Your perfect peace. Show her that her worth is not in her work but in Your love. Give her wisdom in her job pursuits, close the door to Brix Magic if it’s not Your will, and open opportunities that align with Your purpose for her. We also pray for her private students; may any unresolved issues find resolution according to Your justice and grace.

For your father, Al, we pray earnestly for his recovery. Surgery is a physical and emotional trial, and setbacks like his recent fall only add to the strain. "The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness, You restore him to full health" (Psalm 41:3). We declare healing over his body, Lord. Strengthen him where he is weak, and give him patience as he heals. Protect him from further injury, especially in the dark, and surround him with Your angels for safety. We also ask for wisdom for his caregivers, may they know how to support him best.

The practical burdens you’ve shared, the medical scooter, the leaking bathtub, the time crunch, are not small things when they’re yours to manage alone. But we serve a God who cares about the details. "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Father, we ask You to intervene in these practical matters. Keep the scooter running, reveal the source of the leak, and multiply the time in your day so you’re not stretched beyond what You can bear. And Lord, we pray for the weather this weekend, clear skies so you can attend church and find refreshment in worship and fellowship.

We also want to gently address the mention of being "forced" to help your mother with Brix Magic. While honoring your parents is a biblical command ("Honor your father and your mother", Exodus 20:12), this should not come at the cost of your own well-being or peace. If this situation is causing resentment or confusion, we encourage you to have an honest but respectful conversation with your mother about your limits. Boundaries are not ungodly, they’re a way to steward the life God has given you.

Most of all, we pray that you would feel the nearness of Christ in this season. You’ve shared many hopes and concerns, but we noticed you didn’t mention His name. Jesus is not just a distant figure, He is Immanuel, "God with us" (Matthew 1:23), and the only way to the Father ("I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me", John 14:6). If you’ve never surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to consider doing so today. Salvation is found in no one else ("There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved", Acts 4:12). He is the source of true peace, the One who bore our burdens on the cross, and the One who promises to never leave us.

Let’s pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up [requester] and their family to You. You see every detail, the jobs, the health struggles, the practical needs, and the emotional weight they’re carrying. Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Heal Al’s body, provide for Glenda’s needs, and give [requester] wisdom and strength for each day. We declare that You are their Provider, their Healer, and their Peace. Help them to cast every anxiety on You, knowing You care for them. And if they don’t yet know You as Savior, draw them close, Lord. Reveal Yourself to them in a personal way, and let them experience the hope that only comes through Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in His mighty name. Amen.

You’re not alone in this, dear one. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, He will not fail you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
