We join you in bringing this heavy burden before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her and continue to use her as a light and a witness in her family.
We are encouraged that she knows the Lord, for we know that the influence of a faithful believer can be powerful in turning a heart toward repentance. As it is written, Matthew 5:16, Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We pray that God gives her boldness, wisdom, and discernment to speak the truth in love, and that her brother will have ears to hear. We pray that the Lord will soften his heart and draw him to repentance, that he would turn from any wrongdoing and seek to honor God in all his dealings.
We also lift up the serious matters you have shared. What you describe concerning a life-threatening apartment and being kept in unsafe conditions is grievous, and we pray that all truth will be brought into the light. We pray with you that this sister will not be kept in the dark, but that what has been hidden will be revealed. For the Word says Luke 12:2, But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known, and Ephesians 5:11, Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We ask God to expose every deception and to protect you from all harm. We also pray for justice according to His righteous will, remembering Romans 12:19, Vengeance doesn’t belong to you, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We encourage you to also seek protection and justice through the proper authorities as God has established them to restrain evil, while we trust God to be your ultimate defender. We claim His promise over you, Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust, and Isaiah 54:17, No weapon that is formed against you will prevail.
We must also address what you shared about the sexual relationship outside of marriage. The Bible is clear that God designed sexual intimacy for the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and that sex outside of marriage is fornication or adultery and is sin before God. Hebrews 13:4 says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We pray that the former landlord and this woman will be convicted of this sin, that they will repent and turn to purity and holiness, and that any ungodly soul tie will be broken in Jesus' name. We pray that they will both come to put God first in their lives.
We join you in praying that every idol in their lives will be exposed and destroyed. An idol is anything we put before God, and His Word commands Exodus 20:3, You shall have no other gods before me, and 1 John 5:21, Little children, keep yourselves from idols. We pray that our Lord will reveal and tear down every idol of money, greed, lust, power, or self, and that they will seek first His Kingdom. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne. We lift up the sister who loves You, strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and give her courage to speak Your truth without fear. Let her life and words be a powerful influence that leads her brother toward repentance and salvation. Lord, shine Your light into every dark place concerning this apartment and the harm that was done. Reveal the truth to all who need to know it, bring accountability where there has been wrongdoing, and protect our dear one who has faced threats against his life. We ask You to surround him with Your angels and Your peace. Convict all involved in sexual immorality and in any plot to harm, bring them to repentance, and destroy every idol that has taken Your rightful place in their hearts. May they both humble themselves, put You first, and walk in obedience to Your Word. We trust Your perfect justice and Your unfailing mercy. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to walk closely with the Lord, to forgive as Christ forgave us while still pursuing truth and safety, and to rest in knowing that God sees all, He is just, and He is your strong protector.
